Glad to see that Kimo and Deadmaker won both their pools with Hakan, Nemo felt the power the against Deadmaker and Kimo defeated German Luger(This name btw), Damdai was also on his pool. Deadmaker lost then against Xian and Pretty Ricky, Kimo lost against LuckyD, won after that some matches and then was eliminated. Anyway the results for Hakan are getting better from year to year, after some nice buffs, it could be even much better.
Waking up to see that Jwong eliminated xiao hai, i can already say todays been a good day.
Top 8 looks super hyper, i got 5 out of 8 of my original predictions right. No to surprised haitani or sako made it but i really didnt think tokido had a chance, props to him.
edit: Holy shit, jwong also eliminated fuudo?? no fucking way! Fuck sleeping, regret not seeing that one live. wouldnt of predicted that in 100 years…
First, these say the same thing. I simply elaborated on the subject, because the simpler statement implies Ryu is at a disadvantage, which is not the case. He has a harder time finding openings, but any ones he finds hurt more because Akuma is made of paper and suffers greater passive damage from the fireball war and stray pokes.
Second, I said default aggressor for a reason. It implies that, in a neutral situation such as the match start, Akuma is generally the aggressor. This is because Ryu benefits from an extended stalemate and Akuma has an easier time finding those big, juicy openings. It’s not easy, but definitely easier than it is for Ryu. With a sizable lifelead it is perfectly possible for Akuma to play the lame game as well. I mean, both characters have a hard time opening each other up, if you have a big lead, why wouldn’t you, no matter which one you play?
This brings us to the fact that Infiltration wasn’t running away the whole time, but rather mostly when he had a sizable life lead from finding an opening and usually when the clock was also running low. Watching the match with no sound:
1st game, 1st round: Infiltration forces his way in immediately and runs away while he has the life lead.
1st game, 2nd round: Infiltration is primarily aggressive
1st game, 3rd round: Infiltration is primarily aggressive until clock runs low and he has a huge life lead.
2nd game, 1st round: Infiltration aggressive at start, runs away when obtains a huge life lead.
2nd game, 2nd round: Initially aggressive stance, stays aggressive due to Laugh’s life lead.
3rd game, 1st round: Stays aggressive (intent: containment, not so much damage) until clock starts to run out, then protects life lead.
3rd game, 2nd round: Looking for a spot, gets it. Wary, defensively-oriented zoning trying to find a spot to finish things, no persistent runaway.
These are not default situations. In a default situation, both players generally revert to a wary, zoning heavy stance where they look for openings or, in Ryu’s case, juicy fireball hits. (Speaking of which, those counterhit fireballs HURT)
Anyone know when that announcement regarding the update is supposed to happen? I’ve been told that its Sunday but I’ve also heard that its today at noon.
I don’t think there will be any sf4 today and judging by the impact of the announcement, i’m pretty sure it’ll happen tomorrow around the top 8 matches.
Kinda sad that daigo and infiltration have to face off in losers so soon.
Ono deconfirmed the “leaked” pics of Hyper Street Fighter 4 yesterday. He also mentioned that UMvC3 and SFxT were tomorrow and also said that they will be holding a panel for street fighter at 12pm and they will announce something. I checked the schedule and it says special presentations take place on sunday around 6. I’m just really confused as to when this announcement is supposed to happen.
Quote from his twitter: “UMvC3 and SFxTK will be having match in tomorrow(PST). UMvC3 will be until Semi-Final. SFxTK will be until Final match. See you at EVO2013!!” “And more, We’ll be having panel session for Street Figter at EVO2013 in 12pm! CAPCOM USA SF’s team will announce about something … ;P”
