I got the game a couple of weeks ago and as long as I stick with players in Europe its fine. I’ll still have the random bad connection, but its not a big deal. I just take a smoke break and come back to find a new opponent. If I gave a shit about points it might be frustrating.
Yesterday, even though I used the Steam beta and set connections to 250, I got lag even in offline mode while waiting for ranked challenge.
In Windows 7 game was unplayable online and with European players nevertheless.
Switched to Windows XP partition and game runs almost like in GFWL days, with no hangups too during search.
That is because you constantly got pinged by other players who are searching for matches and these cause lag during training. Stop allowing for people to challenge you when you’re training, this way there isn’t any lag, freezes etc.
Same settings work fine on XP though!
the lag spike happened after a long while on Windows 7. I’ll have it disabled then and search for ranked matches myself
PC version seems to be getting worse and worse for me lately for some reason. Laggy matches are the norm now and most of the time I only get 1 or 2 endless lobbies to appear when searching. Both my comp and internet are really good so I think I might just give up on the pc version. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I started playing on PSN again and it actually feels way better than pc now which is sad.
Of course WinXP isnt perfect. But at least for ranked matches with European players 7/10 matches have GFWL network quality, despite the wrong bar color indication. The rest may be have lag and freeze, but this occured in GFWL as well. But in Windows 7 currently all ranked matches are either unplayable or at least 1 freeze will occur during the match, thus breaking the game flow.
At least when I win I’d like to do it the proper way.
Anyone got problems with arcade stick not working for Ultra on Windows 8? It works fine on my desktop with Windows 7, on my laptop with 8 it doesn’t work period with Ultra. I got a Hori N3 SA, under devices it is recognized and the inputs function, when in game nothing works.
I had almost the exact same problem. On desktop i have w8 and it works fine, on laptop i also have w8 and it didn’t work in the beginning. The light is on and i tested it under devices also to see if the inputs are working…and they are. In USFIV nothing happened. I have a Hori VX SA Kai. Wierd thing is, once i pressed the “windows” button to back out and search online the arcade stick would work if i wen back into the game.
So everytime i start up the USFIV on my laptop i have to back out and go back into the game before my arcade stick gets recognized, extremely wierd.
I higly doubt you’ll get your stick to work in the same way though as it this “solution” of mine just works by some kind of miracle haha.
