USF4-PC on Steam is SUPERB NOW? *GASP*

I read that opening some of the gfwl ports make a difference for some reason. I tried it and my connections have been better. Some nights the game is unplayable even on green connections.

How do you open the gfwl ports?

Look up the required gfwl ports online, go into router, look up the menu portforwarding or something similar, fill in the required ports and voila.

Yeah sorry I couldn’t tell you what I opened. I’m terrible with this kind of stuff. I used a guide on YouTube lol. I do however still have bouts of lag sometimes. I can’t figure this damn thing out!

If you have a 360 just get it there, no point getting it on steam. Steam is the issue, every game that uses steamworks p2p is dead or has extremely frustrated players.

I wish I was rich, just for I can financially support this.

I uninstalled the game from my pc because I just couldn’t stand all that lag/input delay anymore. phooey & good riddance.
KOFXIII is next on the chopping block.
when I found out KOF98FE wasn’t going to implement rollback netcode I removed it from my wishlist. Not giving any more devs any more money for half assed ports that don’t implement rollback, which is the ONLY way to play a fighter. And that goes for the upcoming T7 and DOA5. paying devs for input delay netcode is like paying a dominatrix to whip you in the back. its sadistic torment. no thanks to that.

peace out yall.

What if the dominatrix is really hot?

not even

Melee on Dolphin emulator online, and BBCS Extend steam edition (has online play) are the only fighters i’m touching this winter. >.>

“”“Very disappointed in Capcom for this shoddy port. They had an opportunity to keep USF4 alive by making PC the main platform now that PS3/Xbox are dying out, but they well and truly shit the bed.”"""

For christ’s sake.
I want everyone to understand that the game was originally deceloped for PC-hardware in the arcades. The console versions are the ‘ports’ here and it shows; they look ugly as hell (missing some main art-design like the character outlines in some stages!) and the loading timed are absolutely catastrophic. Literally the only thing wrong about the PC version is the shitty netcode, and even that is because of the transition from gfwl to steam. (networking is hard, people!)
And despite these things, PC is where their focus SHOULD be.

My greatest wonder is, why don’t they take help from the GGPO-guys? Is the game really too shoddily coded for that?

In the end, it all comes down to capcom not caring about foreigners- and i sort of understand them. They’ve got enough money and playerbase to handle the arcade portion of SF (and world’s greatest players) so the devs are just living their SF-development dream in Japan instead of learning a hard new language and worrying about money-problems of bigger releases.

I told you guys the Capcom staff, devs and execs were on drugs or just plain ole crazy before Ultra dropped…but yall wouldn’t believe me.

Now look at yall. Don’t you guys feel silly now.

Yoshinori Ono needs a straight jacket asap.

only recently have i realized why people are saying steam is really trash. it used to be terrible, then it got better, but since i upgraded to win 8.1 i can’t have a decent match with my brother who lives like 3km from me. he is also on win 8.1. and yes, we’ve checked everything from drivers to ports to the STUN vs TURN issue.

Don’t get me wrong, this is still a AAA, must-buy type PC game. I would gladly have bought it still for double the price. The weird bugs aside, it’s the definitive edition of USFIV. Graphics are, as to be expected, very nice at max, and there’s a fair few people online.

It’s just a bit of a missed opportunity. Kind of like Destiny or something.

No, it’s pretty dumb Capcom nearly killed the game and didn’t bother to fix it. So whatever at this point. It’s just depressing to think people were actually looking forward to the Steamworks conversion and this is what happened. I managed some pretty tolerable games, even in ranked, but every stutter is so disheartening.

Looks like they still didn’t fix anything based on the comments. Stopped playing like 2 months ago. Guess I’ll never touch this game again since it looks like Capcom doesn’t really give a shit. SFV or bust.

Yeah I take back everything I said in my previous post: this game is a piece of dog shit. There’s hardly anyone playing it and 90% of the matches I play, even against players within my own country (the UK) are so laggy that they make me want to just quit.

This is a bug-filled, poorly coded pile of trash.

Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade edition, and v2012 ALL had a great net code (before the steamworks transition from GFWL) at one point was even better than XBL’s. Now it’s just a shadow of it’s former self, XBL has the best net code now, PC is probably equal to PSN now. Hope that answers your question. :stuck_out_tongue:

As the PC playerbase is dwindling the connections are getting worse.

It’s genuinely like an apocalypse, I Am Legend or some shit. I’m on my own out there in the vast wasteland of Steamworks, searching every horizon looking for quality players and matches, a poor soul who has been suckered into buying it at full price appears in my lobby once in a blue moon, and I witness my character be mashed out whilst attempting a jab-string in lag filled conditions…the days of true blockstrings are surely over.

I lay down my worn arcade stick crying out to me “It shouldn’t be this way Froztey…” I reminisce the old days of Games for Windows Live, the one who truly loved us from the beginning; in fact…the only one who loved us at all, may his soul RIP in peace. I scroll down my Steam library, heart pounding…I find the cause of my pain and suffering “Ultra Street Fighter IV” I take a deep breath, and with all my might I try to resist but can no longer hold back my thirst for revenge. I right click and force my beloved fighter to commit Sudoku.

“Goodbye my love, holla at ya boy when you hit the PS4”

Fin.

Yeah the playerbase is tiny now though seriously. I’m just gonna grab the next-gen release and check out the PS4 netcode, maybe it’s different to the PS3.

The PC playerbase isn’t the biggest but it has still loads of active players. I believe PS4 will end up having the smallest community for USFIV though

After reconnecting my network all over again, same layout, same cables etc, it now work great. I have no idea how it happened but it was atrocious for the vast majority of the last few months.

I think it will easily be XBL having the most, than PS4, then PS3, then PC.
