USF4-PC on Steam is SUPERB NOW? *GASP*

It’s playable… BTW, I am playing right now - and I only play Ranked.
But keep in mind, if the game itself, doesn’t like you, it will not work!
It doesn’t matter if you have a super computer,
it doesn’t matter if you have a super internet connetcion,
if it doesn’t like you… Sorry, but you will not be able to play, like many people here.

its unplayable.
I don’t know what you consider “playable”…but I know what “playable” is…and its not this.

last night I used a 2nd steam account and transferred my 2nd gfwl account + my 2nd AE12 game to this ultra game.
played pretty well till the lag started to build up.
then when I quit the game steam started autoupdating the patches…that’s when I realized why yesterday with my 2nd account it actually played moderately well.
because I launched and played the game without the patches.
I then quit steam before the auto update had finished.

I actually think the patches made things worse.

and yeah, its fucking unplayable.

you guys must be playing games with even worse netcode if you think this has playable netcode. it doesn’t. I’ve been playing AE12 since day 1 of its release in 2012 on gfwl and the difference beween that and this is night and day.

to give you an idea how unplayable.
at Ultra on steam’s very worst day…
I once activated Juri’s ultra 1. that qcfx2+Px3, nothing happened. I moved around a bit, dashed in. did a couple crouching mk footsies, backdashed, jump backed, moved forward…all of sudden from outta nowhere, Juri’s ultra 1 activated.
practically fell out my chair.
insane input buffering from insane delay.
at its best.
activate ultra 1, i’ll do cl.st. lk into cl. mp, into cl. mk…random input delay causes mp & mk to unify and focus attack comes out.
its garbage.
stick with just xbox…the frustrations aren’t worth it. its not worth playing.

The game doesn’t like you… accept it! Simple like that!
The game likes me!
I play EVERYDAY without problems!

I played yesterday for the first time in awhile, and it was actually an enjoyable experience on PC, but not getting my hopes up, cause the past weeks it has been shit, even worse than the Beta net code. (which was actually good for me, go figure)

All they did with 1.02 or is 3, whatever version number we’re on, was put a blanket over the real problems in the coding or whatever it is that i don’t much about as far as developing goes.

Initially I thought it was the netcode. But now I realize that the most serious problem is the game code itself
bad game code + bad netcode=clusterfuck

i’ve been playing a lot recently and the netcode is still ass. i don’t know why some people claim to have no problems whatsoever. is it their ISP/cpu/gpu? i’ve noticed with an AMD card i have to upscale stuff in the graphics options or else my frame rate drops. it’s very weird and not well optimized and don’t know if that contributes to how the netcode works in this version of the game. i guess Ultra was made for the lucky few of you who have no problems OR… some of us have a totally different perception on what’s an acceptable online experience.

I dunno man, my ISP seems to be good enough to run just fine on XBL, and my graphics card is more than good enough to run this game [GTX 760]. My CPU is an i5 4690k as well, so that shouldn’t be a problem either, but this game still smells like a wet dog and runs like a turtle online for me most/almost all of the time.

On steam I started playing Ranked and got to around 2900PP I join a user “MAX POWER”. No idea who this person is, but for some reason I joined his session, picked my character, he picked the stage. Then I got the message “The host has removed you from this session” at the Versus screen. Went back and found I lost 128PP… Not sure how he did it but that is very strange and if he’s stealing points that’s sad lol

Homer Simpson

I just updated to USF4 in Steam. I had been playing a lot of USF4 on Xbox and although the PC version is prettier it is full of bugs. E.g., when I join an Endless lobby it pauses WMP if I have that open. Netcode feels weird too. Lots of laggy games, and the menus seem to lag a lot as well.

They should also implement something that makes it easier/possible to invite non-friends to games, like you can on Xbox.

Very disappointed in Capcom for this shoddy port. They had an opportunity to keep USF4 alive by making PC the main platform now that PS3/Xbox are dying out, but they well and truly shit the bed.

Just bought the new Razer Blade and started playing usf4 on it. Despite the Blade having much better hardware than my previous laptop (Alienware M14x) it drops frames quite frequently. Once every 10 sec or so. I’ve tried to set the game to use the dedicated nvidia graphics card (gtx 870m) through the nvidia control panel but the game doesn’t seem to want to recognize it. I’ve tried all manner of different graphics settings in the in-game option but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Wow, I was going to purchase it now, but maybe I can wait for the Steam Winter sale and get it when it’s 75% off, hopefully. How is the first Street Fighter IV on PC? Does it also have similar problems, or have they at the least refined the first game?

How is the net code in the PC version of Ultra now? Did they ever get around to fixing it? I tried playing it at lunch on the INSANE connection at my office but it even ran really badly there…

I haven’t really felt the need to go back since. Is it worth trying again?

They didn’t fix shit.

Nobody is calling out Capcom on this bullshit either, so no hopes on it ever getting fixed.

@Scallat I bet it will be fine if you retry again.
There’s some barely noticeable lag on some connections that are not really stable, otherwise it is fine. The problem lies in what constitute a stable connection. I’m often having a better connection when fighting people that are not within the same city ironically.

As for the ones that don’t believe 95% netcode issues got resolved, just go check the guys streaming on twitch such as leveluplive / jwong when they are playing on PC and try to notice the lag. These guys have good connections and it shows pretty much what every guys with a decent connection is currently experiencing.

Keep in mind that you can have a ‘good’ connection to your local area but your routing everywhere else can be horrible due to your ISP.

It is as atrocious as ever, the only thing they fixed what did cause lag spikes were the constant requests to open lobbies when somebody was searching, as of now these only happen when you are actually in a lobby.
This however is just a workaround instead of actually adressing the netcode problems. Laggy search menu’s and laggy matches is basically what USFIV on PC is all about.

But hey, apparantely there is a select group of people for who the game works great online, however if you had problems before then don’t expect them to be fixed unless you changed something drastically in your network, hardware, isp etc.

Well that’s the thing. People are calling them out on it, they’re just not responding. At all.

I wish someone would have the balls to step up to Ono at fucking Capcom Cup and call him out on camera. That would be so nice but it’ll never happen.

U could call him out

Buy me a ticket for the event and another for a flight and I’ll do it naked with a pretzel around my neck.
