If I can find someone at Capcom Cup I’ll inquire about if there is plans to continue to fix the PC release’s netcode and stuttering issues. However I can’t promise I’ll find anyone at all or that if I do find anyone they’ll be able to tell me anything.
I’ve seen a few US based streams who seem to get matches like fire on PC, but Europe is REALLY slow on weekday nights and days, even weekends I have a hard time playing more than 8 different players per day. Good thing is a lot of the remaining active players have their port-forwarding game and general connection game on lock, so no gimped connections are really seen much online. I agree it has been getting slightly better these past weeks, but it’s still in shambles.
And I disagree a little about the PS4 statement, aside from Guilty Gear it’s gonna be one of the only fighters for a while so I’m expecting it to grab a few peoples attention at the least.
Well most of the people play on XBL cause PC (ghost town) and PS3 (low population) are shit, so that only leaves PS4 which may have an improved net code, who knows. Even with Xrd being out (it’s not the mother of all fighters that will save us from Capcom, who knows, maybe it is) don’t underestimate Street Fighter and Capcoms hold on the FGC, there WILL BE players itching to try it on their new PS4’s.
That would be amazing! Even if you don’t end up talking to someone from Capcom, thank you for trying.
I was referring more to the fact that the only fighting games currently on the system are Injustice(Horrible, imo.) Guilty Gear and soon-to-be USF4. So it’s going to catch fighting game enthusiasts eyes.

Well… If you are not able to find more than 10 players/day in Europe, then you don’t have a problem but you may be the problem itself!
I am in Europe and I play every night for 2 or 3 hours straight, and I rarely repeat a player and I get a new match every 2 minutes (maximum) after the other. I really have no problem playing.
For me PC is almost perfect… I am pretty happy with SF on PC.
It’s really funny how everyone seems to have waaay different experience with EU PC. For me it varies a lot, ranked is annoying with the “ranked lag spike” occuring almost every match. Endless is usually good but I have some problems, though it’s hard to say how much of it is caused by netcode/my connection//opponents connection/my oldish PC. But good thing is there’s tons of people playing, finding matches takes way less time than on Xbox.
I have my filter on Ranked set so I play only people from my country and it doesn’t allow people outside of my country to join, I add almost every decent player I play and it’s gotten to the point where most of the time I’m playing people I have added, the community just isn’t as big after the update. I run a standard 25down and 5up connection and have taken the appropriate steps to further help the matchmaking.
I play people from every country on Endless and it’s easier to get matches, and hosting a 1v1 lobby keeps a set going. I just refuse to risk dropping points online due to lag, I care about my virtual number that has no significance whatsoever for some weird reason. The salt factor of being sweeped point blank or some dumb shit when I’m holding down-back is like rubbing salt in the open wound.

So you should’ve used your words better, as you said above “Europe”

I usually play only ranked and I must say I have almost forgoten that there are people who still have these lag problems.
And BTW, I also care about points and those who say points are pointless, are those* who have a LOSE rate of more tha 60%.
They never get to a nice level with their points, and use those sayings as an excuse, so that they can feel better… Anyways…
(*Personal opinion)
Having been playing since the PC release I just had a hard reminder how hard it is to get this game to a playable state after I set it up for the first time on a friends PC. So much input weirdness on a fresh install that we thought a brand new stick was was malfunctioning. It wasn’t until we set the framerate to fixed, vsync off, enabled steam client beta, installed the 1.03 update and turned off background downloads that the game became playable… and by playable, I mean just navigating menus and being able to walk back and forward offline.
I know we’ve all been playing since release and still think it’s a little broken but even as bad as it is now doesn’t quite compare to how utterly useless the game is out of the box (so to speak)
sorry, just had to get this off my chest because I really forgot just how bad it was before all the tweaking I did on my install.

Would be great if PS4 ends up having a nice playerpool for USFIV as i’ll probably end up buying the PS4 anyway for GGXrd, FF15 among others, mights as wel gets USFIV while i’m at it.

If you haven’t removed USFIV yet and still plan to play on PC you can add me if you want, i’m also from Europe.
I tried again today. No point. It is just impossible for me to get an enjoyable experience out of this game. The core game is great but 9/10 games are laggy. It’s just broken.
People seem to be forgetting an important factor. Yes, the netcode is very bad especially compared to GFWL but people with shitty internet and/or computers are also making it worse for everyone. The fact is a lot of people that are online shouldn’t be playing this game.

No one’s forgetting that, the net code is just shit, even on good connections with low ping like myself. (i usually have the lowest ping in the lobby of most games i play)

No one’s forgetting that? I am sure some are!
If the netcode was completely shit as most say, NO ONE would be able to play!
And it’s not because you may have a super internet with “the lowest ping in the lobby of most games you play”, that the game may work for you.
This game works with those it likes…
does 1.04 include another netcode patch?

does 1.04 include another netcode patch?
Of course not.

does 1.04 include another netcode patch?
maybe… but i doubt it
Ranked online was great for me today.
Still sceptical about it. Needs to be tested for a couple of weeks.
The game feels so fresh now! And I am not talking about Omega Mode, but the new trials!!!
It was the first thing I touched after the patch!!!
I haven’t tried Omega yet.
After finishing some trials went straight to Ranked.
For me it was always nice, I didn’t had problems, and it is still nice.!

more reports of improved netcode. I’m gonna test some more, too
