You know what’s funny? I was thinking about that game as i wrote that message, but i haven’t tried the Steam version of it, so i just assumed it would run well because it’s an outdated (but godlike) PS2 game, but what PC in this day and age can’t run DMC, even with a non dedicated graphics card. Now that i think of it, i wonder how the PS2 Onimusha games (now on Steam) run on PC.
-Awful control setup options. It doesn’t really work in-game, so you need to edit the .ini file yourself or use a third-party tool like X-Padder.
-Awful graphics/ resolution, with no support for widescreen.
-The sound engine causes issues with frame-rate in some levels. The solution is to actually delete the sound files in question.
You can fix these issues if you’re willing to find fixes for them, but it’s an awful port.
Supposedly the patch is coming out tomorrow OR at the worst an “announcement” (ugh) relating to it.
Here’s three things that can happen knowing Capcom:
They announce that PC patch will come after the console version (that might come tomorrow or later this month), because they are still “working on” the net code problem for the PC version.
Both patches are delayed until next month, but will release at the same time, and they say “stay tuned for more special announcements.”
The patch comes out tomorrow and were all rolling in net code money.
Another thing that gives me faith is that the PSN gets updated on Tuesdays, so everyone (XBL/Steam) has to wait for them to get a Tuesday. So i guess the odds of it happening tomorrow are a little better? I know that refers to the marketplace being updated, but maybe title updates too? (unless someone can tell me if they do title updates whenever they developer wants)
Nice bandaid patch. So instead of actually fixing the issues, they implement limitations that drag down the performance in different ways. I have to say, this would be an acceptable solution if they had released it a week after the transfer to Steam. But since it took them 4 entire months to come up with this pile of garbage I lost all hope in this company and feel insulted by the way they look at PC players.
I certainly know that I will never spend a single dime on their products again and just drop PC as a platform for fighting games, playing ArcSys titles or something. The way they treat these customers is just utterly pathetic. After the recent developments (Capcom, Namco, FROM, ArcSys (I know they didnt develop GGXX, BB or Isuka for PC but its still their IPs, they should be able to do something about shitty products)) I really started to lose all respect for japanese developers.
I’ll have bought KOF98FE and KOF2002UM Tougeki on Steam by then and Yatagarasu. Maybe Suguri X-HD too.
Having to wait for matches to finish in endless, means even more wasted time. At least previously I could quickly enter the lobby, see the Player Points and judge if it is worth entering.
Even though I have to pay half the price for the upgrade, I am still considering buying the game.
In contrast to 2011, now I have alternatives on PC
capcom should just buy everyone who doesn’t have xbox a xbox and a physical copy of usf4. to those who have xbox and the game a 12 membership of xbl. Everyone should be happy by then and to remove the stupid game from steam because they know wtf they are doing and don’t want to make a valid effort to fix the issues. all they do is Just band-aid, band-aid, and avoid the issues at hand is what they are doing.
I must admit that its a nice change of scenery to see all three platforms receiving the patch at the same time. Typically the PC lags behind the others, so this is a welcome change.
I’m pretty eager to see if this fixes anything however. My confidence in Capcom’s developers is pretty piss poor so I’d love to be surprised.
