Actually, it didn’t. Even 2-player lobbies were problematic.
not sure if this was the right place to post this or not. Is there any way to fix my data being corrupted? I installed that file/save to unlock all titles and after that my data got corrupted. I uninstalled Ultra and deleted the folders too. After, I installed the game every time I start it up, it keeps telling me my data got corrupted when I play. Is there any way around this? or is it bound to my account because I did that?
Does the lobby screen lag for anyone else? It’s the biggest issue I’m having with the beta right now.
I just played a rank match going like a smooooooooooooooth 5 fps lol
2 player endless and ranked are better for me. A lot better actually.
Now i problem is over buffing the game input, my inputs may not register at all or my stick gets stick moving my character in one direction.
I have v-sync turned on the graphics drivers.
Anyone know how ot correct the errors in inputs? Its buffering near or worse compared to the ps3 version.
Also if you experience lag then try lowering your graphics settings. I experiemented and learned athat even thogh you are hitting over 60 fps on the benchmark and the game runs smoothly in training mode it all goes to hell when an actual online match.
To fix it i lowered some of my settings and the online matches became smooth for me.

this worked great before too.
Wrong, but I guess you know better than me on how it goes for me.
I finally had the chance to test the Beta.
Well, i played something like 30 or so matches and overall, the Netcode is improved. Match Search is laggy as fuck, but apart some de-sync in about… 3-4 matches, good connections with all Europe. If they fix the laggy Search and continue to improve the Netcode, i’ll be a happy customer.
I haven’t been this disappointed in a sequel since the Star Wars prequels.
at the start of the second round i almost always get a 5 second freeze
XBL:
- Bigger player population ( PC has a decently sized player base though)
- Accurate bar type representation and great net code ( don’t care what people say, just got on after 6 months of not playing on 360 and this net code feels like GFWL)
- Can send and receive rage/praise/boast messages (Must have them as a Steam friend to do this on PC)
- Higher level of average player skill
PC:
- Graphics and faster load times
- Mods
Ehh, think i’ll play on 360 from now on until the beta ends.
so i was playing against 3 friends in an private and closed endless lobby tonight.
i should stress that the endless lobby was completely closed with all slots set to private, so no one would come and go causing packet accumulation. and I don’t think that between the 4 of us anyone played a ranked match or searched for matches before joining the private lobby.
and i’m in NYC new york btw.
so i was playing against 3 friends in an endless lobby. 4 man lobby.
but here’s the thing.
all three are located in Mexico.
we have all played together many times before on GFWL…but, matches were always laggy between us on GFWL.
but tonight, here on Ultra steam…i swear to you all, no exhaggerations…no hype…
our matches felt not only 10x better than they ever did on GFWL…they felt close to completely lag free!!!
NEW YORK TO MEXICO FELT ALMOST TOTALLY LAG FREE!
it felt incredible!
10x better than GFWL.
but…but…
there was this bug/glitch were different people between the 4 of us would not only get kicked out randomly from the lobby…we would get kicked out AND the game would crash and exit on its own.
its annoying BUT…i prefer this weird bug over lag any day of the week.
also, online in general felt good today.
to-day lol.
lets see.
if the devs can just fix the ping packet accumilation that goes on in ranked and open endless lobbies they will have GODLIKE ONLINE NETCODE!!!
@TheKingOfParody The beta fixes the accumulation. Are you sure you’re in the beta?
The online play seems to better since the Beta. It’s not as good as the online on 360 but it’s better that PSN. I don’t know how PS3 only players deal with it. SFIV only on PS3 has always been the worst but before it was playable half the time.

@TheKingOfParody The beta fixes the accumulation. Are you sure you’re in the beta?
the beta doesn’t fix the packet accumulation.
it just lowers the rate of its accumulation.
all you have to do is keep playing ranked matches without stopping and quitting the game after 2 or 3 matches to see that each match after the last one you have gets laggier and laggier.
and yes I’m sure I’m in the beta.
not only cause I downloaded it 1st day of release, but because it says ULTRA STREET FIGHTER 4 BETA as the game title in my steam game library.
ripped quote from steam forums.
So I was among the first to notice the netcode issues: http://steamcommunity.com/app/45760/discussions/0/34094415790896727/
I was hoping this latest beta patch was going to fix it, but it’s still just a small bandaid.
After playing about 30m worth of matches via Fight Request in training mode. I start to notice the lag/freeze issues. The first few games are alright.
When I open up Wireshark I yet again notice just a spam of Binding Request/Response packets. http://i.imgur.com/gBfCKI6.jpg
Even after having the game closed for a minute, I am still getting spammed. Is capcom’s master server wonky? http://i.imgur.com/DCvpaer.jpg
Finally after waiting a few minutes and relaunching the game, I am finally packet spam free. http://i.imgur.com/UEDisaD.jpg Well, until I open up Ranked Matchmaking or Fight Request.
All the patch seems to have done is reduce the rate at which these build up. I believe the packets really aren’t the source of the lag, but rather the game’s processing of a matchmaking request. The large amount of these packets is probably overloading whatever their client matchmaking code is. I don’t know how you miss something like this, coming from a Software Engineer
this is why when you always boot up the game and start playing online… first 2 or 3 matches its smooth as silk…but after 4 or 5 matches…yup. lag. after that, unplayable.
but like I said, endless lobby, closed with all private slots(friends), and no one gets involved prior to the endless lobby with ranked mode…everyone’s connection with each other is godlike lagfree. as long as you had a decent connection with friends to begin with back on GFWL
and btw, people with beta can still play non beta players. why? I don’t know, but its been reported by me and a few others already. and btw, one of my friends in the 4 man lobby i talked about didn’t have the beta.

With me happens the opposite.
The first 2 or 3 matches are sometimes laggy, and then the other 100’s are simply great/smoot/off-line feel.
Ever since this BETA it feels like it’s only about 10 people playing.
The beta isn’t terrible so far, but how are they going to bring players back that we had from GWFL AE?

Ever since this BETA it feels like it’s only about 10 people playing.
It’s because the beta players are separated from the non-beta players. I don’t think there’s any reason for non-beta players to not opt in. Maybe they don’t know about it?
beta and non-beta users can still play each other.
that’s been reported already.
if i fight one more fukin hugo man
