USF4-PC on Steam is SUPERB NOW? *GASP*

10 matches done endless room of 2 players.
Great time so far.

Since the patch when im searching for players in ranked it suddenly speeds up the menus ALOT, and when i try to join in ranked it also lags ALOT before i get to the next screen, really wierd. Overall connection wise i have the same experience n ranked. Once you are in a lobby of endless it’s fine, scrolling through the lobbies is really really laggy. Some god connections with friends are now laggy shit connections, overall it is still shit.

As of today it feels like Ultra at its fastest is above release but is behind AE.

This what happens, i actually always loved GFWL, but those Steam elitist , just had to always bash it  I love being connected to my XBL friends and Achievements(not that i collect them) the market place (which the shut down) was the only shitty part about it. GWFL always felt like a warm bouncy cloud in the heavens, especially when you had green bars. Oh snap, that was a rant, sorry about that…

As far the beta netcode goes…

My experience with the net code before this beta was never that bad, 65% were ehh but playable, 20% were good, 10 % were horrible, while 5% felt like offline.

I’ve played against 4 people today:

  • 2 out of 4 of them i’d throw into my “good” category.
  • amazing connection with this guy, would throw into my “felt like offline” category"
  • a shitty Akuma player who beat me cause it always seemed to lag spike during his demon flip mix ups, the kid had no idea what he was really doing and went try hard, felt like underwater. (not biased or salty cause of loss, just bad connection.

That’s not how you test the net code, you need to face different people. You don’t just have green bars with someone for 10 matches then all of a sudden it just goes to shit cause of the netcode. (unless people at his house hopped online and are whoring bandwidth)

I played a dude in Mexico that was 1 red bar to me and it was fine after the first game, but that isn’t out of the ordinary for the lag to go away after the first game.

Ranked is still the gamble it always is.

Everyone I’ve played on the beta has been laggy. Idk where the people at I’m playing but it seems worse on my end.

Room of 2 means… room of 2. The famous room making rule, not session with someone.

And I give you datas before you jump on with your judgment hammer.
You have the time and the situation and even better the “so far” statement to make it clear. Make your own conclusions but don’t make up mines.

I don’t blame Capcom no more, I feel legit when saying people who don’t really play SF have no Idea how to optimize the game when playing online.

welp,
can we all agree that Ultra Street Fighter 4 is now officially an OFFLINE game?
cuz this beta pretty much did nothing.
if there was an improvement, its so bare bones minimal, its unnoticeable. its not even worth recognizing cause its still so very very bad.

game over Crapcom.

i’m done with this.
just gonna wait for tekken 7 on steam…and hope for the best for that game’s online.

^Someone misses the point of beta patching completely.

The beta patches will keep coming and the issues have been reduced to some degree.
It’s not perfect right off the bat, but it is an improvement.

Let’s see what beta 2 will bring.
For the info RE4UHD had beta patches released approx once per week, so hopefully it won’t be to long for the next one

For the record I can’t actually judge how it has changed things for me yet because I haven’t found local matches and being in Australian means that even on GFWL only local matches and matches with Japan were lagless.

So for the time being I am still waiting for enough locals to have updated to make a fair judgement on how things have changed.

Seriously, its like some of these posts were pulled off of Heroes of the Storm forums or something. They need to wait until an actual release to see if their constant whining is validated or not.

Haven’t had the chance to properly try out the beta yet. Fought a few matches with friends, but thanks to Philippine internet, connected with people from other countries in SEA is better than those within the country (3 green bars to HK, 1 red bar to local) so we couldn’t really tell.

facepalm.

this worked great before too. why are you reporting this and mislead people?
play some Ranked with randoms near you, then post… the problems where in ranked!!

I understand…but at the same time I feel its gonna be a loooooooooooooooooong time from now before we get a fully functional netcode. and I don’t think it will ever be as good as it once was with AE on GFWL.
heck, by the time that happens SF5 will be out. lok how long it took Skullgirls to get their netcode right. like 2 years man.

it was a rush job.
they botched it.
I don’t think its salvageable now.
put a fork in this one, cuz its done.
beta did nothing.
its still terrible/unplayable.

when did skullgirls ever have bad netcode? from what i remember the people who had netcode problems were running the game on intel atom/celeron grade netbooks and couldn’t get 60fps… and that was fixed within a week or two.

Theres no way to tell how long it will take for the netcode will be fixed.

KOFXIII beta also lasted over a month before netcode could become tolerable.
even so, some beta versions had better netcode than the final version.

likely to happen here too. I’ll wait before I buy the game.

I’ve done player matches with 3 different friends online in different parts of the states+Canada. They’ve all run smooth as butter.

Ranked can be a different story though. Even with the new beta, I still get the occasional lag spikes.

Overall for me, it’s a hell of alot better then ps3’s netcode was.

Applied the beta last night and got some games in.

Some things are absolutely better. I did not have matches suddenly slow to a crawl, dsync and then catch up.

Encountered a few laggy same area matches. However, I don’t know if it was due to the netcode or if those individuals just had other things going on. (Downloads/torrents)

i noticed a few improvements but i did not restart Steam. i experienced a lot of crashing during spectator mode waiting for my turn. better matchmaking i guess. still can’t trust the ping bars but the lag has improved a little. if this all goes away after restarting Steam, i’ll be satisfied. i’ll try again in a few hours.

EDIT
nope. still the same shit. slightly improved like last time but restarting Steam did nothing for me. blocking and reversals would fail on decent connections, sometimes it was super laggy but most of the time it wasn’t. it’s an improvement at least but so far there’s a long way to go. it’s a beta anyways.
