Going by the way RE4UHD beta patches were handled…
No, once you opt-in to the beta version Steam will just download a new patch just like any other patch.
Only difference between the beta patch and an official patch is the fact you need to “opt-in” to get it.
This way if the beta happens to break the game worse (something I pray doesn’t happen) you could just opt-out of the beta again and be back to the “non-patched” version.
Essentially what they are doing is speeding up the release of patches by eliminating most of the testing phase, instead that torch has now been passed to us making us the (beta testers )
When they get to a point where the issues they are concerned with are eliminated they will likely just push out the newest beta patch as the official patch that everyone is forced to download by default.
peoples who change theire flag usually know wich region to play with to avoid lag and they have no choice to being with, ip limiation is the most retarded thing ever on the internet and its just alienating players who dont have any scene to play with locally, and even if you have a doubt if its bad then the bar will be red/yellow anyway
^lol, if that was true about pp/bp…theres gonna be few angry people who spent lots of sleepless nights point grinding through all the hellish infuriating lag
How to access Beta
From your Steam ‘LIBRARY’ list, right-click on Ultra Street Fighter IV and select 'Properties’
Select the ‘BETAS’ tab.
Type USFIVBetaBranch (case-sensitive) in the ‘Enter beta access code’ field and then click CHECK CODE.
Now, select “beta - patch beta” from the pull-down menu and click CLOSE.
Wait for the Steam client to finish downloading the 2.9MB patch
Launch Ultra Street Fighter IV.
I’m at work so I won’t be able to play for a few hours either, but on reddit some people are saying it’s better, while others say it’s more of the same… and some people are saying shit that doesn’t make any sense like, " …if I’m playing against people that don’t have the beta then their lag could be the issue." when the release notes specifically say that it’s impossible for people in the beta to play against people not in the beta sooo… may be too early to tell, but I’m still hopeful.
okay, I had a chance to play a few ranked matches at lunch and found it significantly improved. To the people who say they didn’t see an improvement, did you restart steam after opting in to the beta?? I tried it first without restarting steam and had nothing but problems but after restarting was when I saw the improvement.
Goddamn, why do americans keep joining european lobbies and vice versa when it is obvious the connection is going to be horrible, are people dumb like that, even the 1 bar indicates how the experience will be.
Atm i’m not really experiencing any difference or improvement.
EDIT: I’m only finding Euro players, but I can say that there’s some lag when searching the lobbies. Kinda annoying. I’ll try again later when more people in my area are around.

Well, for me it didn’t change anything… not that I noticed.
BTW, I was already having a really nice experience with Ultra.
80% of the games I played were pretty nice and many of them feeling like offline.
I installed the Beta Patch, but still haven’t had the chance to play a lot because of a rainstorm. While i still have somewhat a good ping (around 50-55 when pinging UK servers) i still want to wait until the rainstorm is over because i prefer to play when the ping with half of Europe is under 30. Too bad. Still, runs a bit better with italians in Ranked. Even Orange bars felt better, more like Yellow-Green ones.
I’ve played a bunch of matches against Canadian/US/overseas players. Overall, the netplay is better. I still get the occasional lag spike, but they’re less frequent now. The lobby search is laggy, but hopefully they can fix that.
didnt notice any difference, if anything the menu lag/freez even more, ranked still ass, endless still work great with 2 players lobby, the only improvement i noticed is that am getting way less " failed to join session " am able to join more sessions, but the freezs and random burst of lag are still there, will test a longer session tomorrow
