i noticed that AE steam version has some of Ultra bugs already , like when characters wake up while being stunned they are immune to hit/FA for a short period of time
Yeah, same for me too, but I have a separate Buffalo Airstation which I connected to the router for WLAN access. My PC is directly connected to the router with a LAN cable and other devices use WLAN.
people should post their setups, especially internet connection and most importantly whether they are on wired or wireless, and whether they are behind a router or directly plugged into the wall.
more useful than TYPING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS
if it’s working mostly great for some people and complete shit for others, it’d be great to figure out what the actual difference is.
I have an i5 pc with 8gb ram and 7850 ATI card. It runs other games fine, but ssfiv framerates drop from time to time for no reason… (in benchmark it averages 300) anyone else experience this and have have a solution?
I get extra salty when the input bug pops up mid match. It always happens when I’m in the advantage of winning the match. As soon as I go for a punish then bam, I stop and can’t press anything and the other guy is knocking my head off. They cheatin’, I tell ya.
i even turned off catalyst AI and it got worse. this game was made with NVIDIA in mind. even though i get over 200 fps, i still notice framerate drops with all the proper settings on.
My older setup could run the GFWL version at 1280x720 with no framerate drops if AA was turned off, and it was on a 2008 Dell XPS laptop. If I turned up particle effects, it would lag during Evil Ryu’s EX Red Fireball -> Ultra I combo due to the camera close up and some other Ultras, but it wasn’t a big deal.
it dosnt run any better on my GTX 760, i have the same FPS problem in menus, in matchs sometimes FPS get cut in half (30) i have to alt tab and then get back to fix it, i tell you this port was coded with elephant foots fingers
i got an older setup:
i3 CPU 530@ 2.93GHz 2.93GHz
RAM 4GB
ATI Radeon HD 5770
Win7 64-Bit
@Essenthy
yeah i agree. the port isn’t that great. vanilla was actually pretty good from what i remember. i wish whoever did that one would’ve done Ultra/AE Steam.
I think the issue I’m having isn’t from a weak setup. The game isn’t playing well with my GPU for some reason…
I can see my FPS dropping to like low 20’s while I’m on the character select screen sometimes. It pretty much ruins my experience lol.
Menus can be a bit iffy at times, particularly during looking at Player Data. Sometimes there are pretty obvious frame drops there for me if I have AA on 8x or higher, but I even saw this in GFWL. It’s not new to the Steamworks version.
I think what might be causing in-match problems for some people is the fact that the lighting effects got fixed. They were misplaced in the GFWL version but got fixed in the Steamworks version. This improves the appearance of moves like Ken’s HP DP but might cause issues for slower systems.
The thing is, I don’t consider my system lower-end at all…
I stated the specs above, but it’s
I5 quad
8 gig ram
7850 ATI gpu
Win7 x64
Also using an ssd for faster load/read
Zero issues in other games… can’t find a solution to fix ssf4.
Are my specs below what’s needed for smooth play?? I thought it was plenty
Your graphics card and processor are supposedly faster than mine, yet I manage to get consistent performance on max settings, so it’s not your hardware, I think. Are you using DirectX11 by chance? I know that causes a performance hit for some games.
@pootnannies i agree vanilla SF4 was the best port EVER, it has fucking 120hz option, its a game from fucking 2009, and it HAD 120HZ mode holy fuck , this steam version from 2014 ( you can see they put the ver.2014 everywhere like they are proude of it ) CANT EVEN FUCKING RUN NORMALLY WITH VSYNC
best way to use Vsync imo is to activate it when you’re in training mode, then get it off when you go online
