bugs aside i cant wait till ultra comes out for pc. i cant stand xbox live.for all the shit thats said about there being better players on xbox live there are a lot more shittier players as well. if i have to eat another wake up ultra im gonna lose my mind.
I want to see a third option for the match-making so it would be Any, Same, and Regional. The ‘same’ setting is worthless for me as I have never seen anyone else in that list, so I am stuck using ‘all’ as changing download regions seems to do nothing for me. Damn Canada.
the game fuck up input regardless if the in game Vsync is on or off, same with Nvidia Vsync, this shit is dropping frame like a cow on diarrhea , at first i though its just my execution sucking like always, till i started noticing my friend who has higher rating then me and way better execution missing his simple combo, his or my character during combos will just stand there and the input will get eaten
Of course the game is dead. People are playing Ultra on XBOX and the only ones who still play AE right now are PC exclusive players (who dont really play fighters because there are better alternatives with way bigger communities) of which not many exist.
Whats so funny? Fighters on PC have always been semi dead, and that will never change unless a developer comes up with an idea to make them appealing to the PC community. Currently you dont have a single reason to pick up fighters if youre into competitive games. You have way more FPS, RTS and, if you like that genre, MOBAs to pick from. So why would a PC player pick the one genre that is way more enjoyable on console (due to bigger community and faster support) and dedicate his time? Hell, Capcom treats PC players like second class citizens anyway. No wonder no one plays the title, I would feel like the most unimportant piece of shit customer as well. Let alone that fighters are the only genre that would make you learn a completely new peripheral.
So I dont really see what youre laughing about. The fact that this genre is, was and will most likely always be niche, or that there simply are way more appealing titles available on PC when youre into competition? Not saying that there arent exceptions, but exceptions dont make a big community. But enlighten me with your knowledge and tell me why a PC player who is into competitive games wouldnt rather pick Quake, CS, SC or Dota over Street Fighter. After all, fighters require you to invest a shit ton of time and especially when youre european that often simply is a gigantic waste. While online doesnt deny you from becoming the best in any other genre (yes LAN is always better, but the difference isnt even close to what it is in Fighters), you cant even reach top 10% status in fighting games without knowing how to play offline. Thats a gigantic factor you dont seem to consider.
If I play a game to get better, but then someone tells me that I can only reach 90%, because the last 10% come from grinding offline in locals, there literally isnt a point in picking the title up. After all, this whole lets go to le arcades attitude is incredibly old fashioned and unheared of in most parts of europe.
Well, shit. There’s always the simple fact that people have personal preferences and exercise their right to choose that might result in some people playing fighting games on PC.
That’s right. Choice. Not everybody likes the same games.
Speak for yourself, though there is a large and very active PC SFIV community in Australia with a sizeable amount of them stomping around in offline tournaments and in our arcades. Preferred platform makes no difference if you’re got a group of people to play against and you’re enjoying yourself.
I am laughing about you comment! That’s it!
I don’t think the game is dead… Every moment I start my game I have people to play.
"the only ones who still play AE right now are PC exclusive players (who dont really play fighters because there are better alternatives with way bigger communities)"
Well… I ONLY play on PC and I only play Street Fighter. And I am sure I am not the only one.
So why would a PC player pick the one genre that is way more enjoyable on console (due to bigger community and faster support) and dedicate his time?
Maybe because he is a fan of that genre?
And what is “more enjoyable” for you, may not be for the other. I bought SF4 (and all its updates) because I simply love the game and not because I would be able to play a “bigger community” or because I would have a “faster support”.
But enlighten me with your knowledge and tell me why a PC player who is into competitive games wouldnt rather pick Quake, CS, SC or Dota over Street Fighter.
Well, I myself wouldn’t pick Quake, CS, SC or Dota, simply because of the fact that I am - since the 90’s - a Street Fighter fan. (Don’t even know those games)
And as a fan of SF, I would not spend my time with other games, if I could spend it with the game I love.
After all, fighters require you to invest a shit ton of time and especially when youre european that often simply is a gigantic waste.
What does “to be european” have to do with that? LOL If one is european he doesn’t have enough time to invest or what do you mean?
you cant even reach top 10% status in fighting games without knowing how to play offline
I don’t get your “Top Ten Percent Status”
If I play a game to get better, but then someone tells me that I can only reach 90%, because the last 10% come from grinding offline in locals, there literally isnt a point in picking the title up.
Once again… if the person is a fan of a game, he will not care about people saying that he can only reach 90 percent blah blah blah…
and like Gamogo said above, it’s simply “Choice”! Not everybody likes the same games!
What a joke, just because you’re a pc gamer doesn’t mean you like only rts, fps or ARTS
And european internet is better than american internet so netcode is not that much of an issue, not to mention there are locals in europe too, smaller of course since we’re many different countries, not just one big country
And there is such a thing as playing a game and not being competitive, if you’re only interested in that, there are better choices
European internet is overall better and it’s more active on AE PC than other regions, but the netcode and online functionalities are still SHIT
fighting games will not grow on PC with the current level of community engagement and lackluster developer support.
a barebones ranked system with terrible matchmaking and netcode will only get you so far.
Capcom was hammered with requests for a rematch button in the feedback phase for Ultra… they ignored that shit when it was trivial to do and added a lag simulator option in training (basically admitting how shit their netcode is and how absurd their understanding of useful features is).
