Will do.

What guile would choose to auto-correct sb instead of block?
Wish I knew this before I got lit up by a Gief at a local tourney.
This match seems a lot harder in AE and annoying.
Oh thank you! I’ve been looking for something to do after yun’s lp. shoulder.
how come when blanka spams electricity, and i do a crouching hard kick, blanka gets a counter hit? Shouldn’t my kit knock blanka down? if it does not then blanka would be invincible to all attacks.
Its all hitboxes man. Ken’s sweep hurtbox (area where he is able to be hit), from my personal experience, is fcking huge. I get jabbed out of sweeps and stuff…it’s not good to use to just throw it out there. I don’t have much blanka experience, but I’m pretty sure a c.mk from mid-max range will hit him out of it. Also, j.lk stuffs it pretty consistently. I’d just go into training mode, set blanka to spam electricity, and try poking him with different attacks to see what works and what doesn’t.
like prorook said, you CAN actually sweep but only from near max range otherwise i seriously suggest you use c.mk or from near close range use c.lk to get a combo going. also you can knock blanka out of his electricity with jumping lk if you press the lightkick around the height of blanka’s hair
Here’s an image of Ken’s sweep from Super but I doubt the actual hitbox changed in AE.

I’ve gotten chipped out by so many blankas and U2 so I decided to test what can ken use to not get chipped out. So if blanka decides to chip you out with U2 here are your options:
At close range, U2 gets beat by EX shoryuken.
At mid screen, jump forward into fierce shoryu beats his U2
At full screen, NO delay tactics work, ie jump, jump kara ex tatsu does not give you enough time in the air unfortunately so don’t try it
At full screen, jump forward EX tatsu hits blanka clean before the first U2 electricity wave, you don’t even have to do ken’s kara ex tatsu. However, depending on how you time your Ex tatsu you can end up hitting blanka only once, which leads him to recover faster than you. So safest best is kara EX tatsu.
you guys can verify this if you want
Any of you guys know some good safe jump setups vs sagat? Any SJ OS tips vs sagat would be much appreciated…
kara throw, immediate back dash jump fierce i think…i’ll check and edit post.
does not work. lol the kara throw, walk back slightly, low forward then immediate jump into fierce still works. there’s more to this setup than I thought. Makes all reversal dp whiff. has to be a delayed dp to anti-air this jump in setup against sagat. I think it was Wao that did this in a video not too long ago. Oh and it’s an unblockable setup, very hard to time though. Having trouble recreating it. But regardless even if you don’t get the exact timing if done correctly you’ll make reversal dps whiff. OS sweep for backdash and this is a pretty reliable setup until Sagat wises up.
Thanks ikaru, I’ll give that a shot in training mode when I get home from work. Sagat seemed really prone to cross up j.mk and cross up lk tatsu from my training mode session yesterday. Both of those stuffed his hp srk. Wasnt able to follow up with a combo b/c with the timing I had it created an air reset. Anyways maybe my timing was off, but I’ll try that safe jump setup later and see what I can come up with… BTW… I’m new to the Ken forums and recently just picked him up, but I’m a fairly high level boxer… Just kinda got bored playing balrog and like the flash and mixup potential of Ken… Great forums for Ken here!! +1000
Enjoy it man, besides chun forums this is one of the best character sub forums on SRK imo.
Also I say that setup because it beats five frame reversals. Learned from lilsicx awhile back for viper/honda matches.
This set-up seems to have some use against Gouken too. I think it’s in the Showtime vs Bullcat match where he uses that set-up (throw, step back, whiff cr.mk, jump in fp).
Showtime manages to get Gouken’s EX reversal counter to whiff!!!
Need to look into this more…
Peace,
G.
i saw that too but I didn’t think much of it just like, “damn that was lucky” but if it’s a setup yeah research is required.
Going to try that setup later on… Sounds like a gem… Appreciate the help guys!
I have seen jun do back throw, whiff cr.mk jump in roundhouse vs bullcat… I’m not sure if that is a true sj though… He followed it up with an instant overhead neutral jump strong…I tried finding that levi vs bullcat march but couldn’t find it on youtube… Got a link for me?

You couldn’t find it because it was not levi:
