Good stuff. I think Joutai or Joon should put this picture in the matchup thread.
Don’t c.MK anymore against a Gief… Not as good as it was in Super. Plus you’re more like tonget punished for it… Even if you do or don’t do something after it.
First of all dont fall in to his sonic boom trap by that i mean dont go after him because thats what he wants u to do so when u do. jump and he can anti air you or air grab. You can control the fireball fight so throw out those fireballs to where you make him come to you do it smartly though dont throw them out for now reason careful of where he will be when you throw it out also he cant win in a fireball match you can. Use your cross up attacks and kara throws. from there find out what works
thread needs updating, with some new videos on AE n’ etc…
I’d update the video section but It’s a lot easier for me to just copy and paste text that takes me a few minutes to read. I’m kind of limited on time and I’m trying to use only videos that’re informative.
I haven’t been able to watch much of the streams or youtube videos lately so I’m out of date in terms of videos I should update this thread with.
If you guys know of match up videos that’re a must then just post it and I’ll update.
Good advice from everyone but try to keep questions like this in the match ups thread next time. ^^
Also if you score a knockdown, lk tatsu over his body to remove his sonic boom charge then neutral jump hk tatsu for ambiguous cross up. Then next time mix it up with a neutral jump and late mp. Hope this helps.
You’ll build more meter than Guile now in the fireball fight, so you can sit back and build as much bar as you would like doing so. However, be wary at tossing them at 1/4 screen, since Guile can get a free backfist after trading projectiles.
I don’t think you should completely take it out of your repertoire vs Gief. But yeah, you shouldn’t spam c.MK.
I discovered tonight s.LK is a very good normal in this matchup. When Gief has U2, he will be more daring to jump in on you. But when he does, he has to buffer the U2 till he see’s you go for a SRK. You can use s.LK to knock him out of the sky. I was actually using this and when he tried to use a jumping normal at the usual optimum time, I pull out the SRK to AA. It’s distant relative as c.HP is also useful to AA. C.LK though recovers pretty quickly so if Gief is going for those knee short jumps you have time to back dash safely to stay away from lp.SPD range.
Play lame just like all Guile players. Timw his sonic booms if they happen to do it in some kinda sequence of it. Do mixups on him after every knockdown. That’s one way to lose his charge. Also when you are in his face… Try to kara throw them in the opposite direction or regular throw… Always try to them loose their charge… Goes for every charge character…
Alright no problem… I’ll try n’ look for some good matches against characters that don’t have videos that show an example of the matchups…
Oni’s U1 at point blank range has a non fireball hitbox as well.
my U2 just got beat out.
Hey, guys. I’m getting frustrated with the Ken/Fei match-up. It feels as if every normal he has stuffs mine, and I can’t punish his moves, especially the that tripe punch (the one like Yang’s slashes. I don’t know the name of it, as I’ve never played as him before).
His flaming reckas really block my ability to cross up on knock down, as well, and ground to ground his normals stuff mine.
Any advice?
BurnUrBra gave me some great advice on this (and I just beat a very good Guile player last night after only a few matches of putting this into practice). First off, Guile wants you to jump. He wants you to get impatient and try unsafe and risky moves. Just be patient. Throw haudokens to match him, or eat chip. Sometimes you want to be careful about spamming fireballs, because he’ll jump and punish.
I think it was suggested to me to kara-fireball (which I can’t particularly do. I can kara throw, but I’m not sure about what normal to use for kara fireballs). Either way, you’ll get in on him, or HE’LL get impatient and jump in, and you can either hit him with a DP, or just cr. fierce punch.
Once you score knock down is when Ken shines, and when you’ll shine against the Guile match up.
FYI, Guile can autocorrect his sonic boom charges.
EDIT: He can also autocorrect his super/ultra as well.
I want that picture to the be my wallpaper.
Every room in my house.
Then I want to blow up the image, frame it, then hang it over my already redundantly awesome wall paper.
In each bathroom.
Probably with some go-getting success caption like. “Yes we can.”
Request complete!
I second that emotion.
Iook in fei-long’s framedata. And remember what adv\disadv you have on block. Second is punishable if it done close enough.
You can safejump on fei, try it in training mode.
