Ken’s Signature move - Shouryuu Reppa is always QCF,D,DF+P (as far as I can remember in SF2T, SFA, and even in CVS2). Current move is QCFx2+P, which is same as Ryu’s Shinku Hadouken
Ken and Ryu Super is totally different, one is Dragon Punch, and the other is Fireball, why SF4 altered Ken’s move to QCFx2 really puzzles me.
In SFT2, SFA, CVS2 is much easier to execute, and somehow it was way diffcult to execute until I tried in Training mode and I found my regular style of executing Shouryuu Reppa always end at DF+PPP (not end with F+PPP).
I wish they will change back Ken’s execution of Ultra to QCF+D+DF+P3, which is what Ken’s original execution anyway.
That doesn’t help AT ALL, being that you don’t even see Ken’s super in high level play. He uses too much meter for EX Tatsu or Shoryu FADC to have super. Usually, it’s only accidentally used when trying to hit confirm into a Fierce Shoryu. WTF, dood?
That’s just a case of “Learn to get it down,” not “Ken’s not competitive, fix it, Capcom!”
Yea cause that one was only Edma’s opp, which was the first bigg USA Ken player though, so he knows what hes doing. That list actually was pretty good… There was one though which had weird suggestions for Ken, or im just daydreaming >_>
And yea a full list update, of what we here at SRK think would be awesome to, to add to that Ken stuff.
Although yea, he already confirmed every char is getting frame data fixes, and even new specials, so my worries of it not happening are gone, plus ono seems to listen to the community so thats awesome. We secretly need to expend the list with other good stuff while we still can! << >>!
And yea I wanna fight you to, I see you on the ken forum a lot. Although I really need to improve a lot before im good with Ken, and because I use a pad I can’t really kara throw either lol. I need to work on crouching links, but that aside =D
I just recently moved to stick a few months ago, but I could Kara throw like a bitch on pad. People would message me “What kind of stick you use?” I’d be like 'XBOX 360 PAD, SON!" And they’d just send “LOL” It was great.
But yeah… Stick wins… Mostly…
Now, not EVERY character got new moves as the revisions went on (poor poor Guile… And I guess us Ken players, too. )
What new move would we want for Ken? I can’t really see him getting anything. I guess if they DID bring back the Ryusenkyaku (wheel kick from CvS2), since it knocks down, it would a little different from Abel’s kick dealie. But it would have to either stay really low to the ground or it would have to be a focus breaker. In all honesty, I’d rather it be a focus breaker than Tatsu, since Ken’s tatsu already hits multiple times pretty fast, it’s kinda useless as a focus breaker.
But what do you guys think Ken will get as a new move… If any…
a button as grab? How do you c.lk hit confirm? Maybe you should map that over your 3 kicks button or something instead? This probably belongs in the regular Ken thread.

CvS2 : Ryusenkyaku, Zenpou Tenshin (I think that’s what the roll was called)

What would the command be for SSFIV? Would step kick move to f+lk, step overhead f+mk, and step roundhouse to f+rh? I’m with you on that kick. It’s nice. Maybe they could just change his regular RH into that f+RH from A3. That would be fulfilling the “more range on RH” from our previous list.
We’ll have to talk to a mod first, since they posted that sticky about all the threads and repeat threads popping up. I just think we’ll get more clout if they see US Dragonboy as the OP, instead of someone with half a bar of neg rep. (Again, no offense, Joon).
We are more so working on game mechanics. But, if anything, they should just make his hair more so resemble his SF3 counterpart.
To all the people saying that we want ken to basically turn into ryu. look at what were saying we dont want tatsu knockdown, we dont want a faster fireball, we dont want a faster sweep, all we want is what suits ken best which is.
faster walk speed, faster srk startup, knockdown on first hit of all srk’s, less frames on overheads., -1 frame on hk tatsu,(i shouldnt ultra’d by zangief bcuz i landed a big combo) come the fuck on people he’s supposed to be the king of the rushdown.

yes ken needs small tweaks to help fill those gaps in his matchups. not a big overhaul to make him hated even more. and i think he’ll get these things in ssf4
