I think Ken’s roll is pretty much confirmed since he was singled out as a character was definitely getting something new as far as special moves. Killian described it as not as much of a gameplay changer as a parry but definitely another tool.
Crazy kicks or something random are far more likely.

really? i thought it was worse then that…well I guess positioning is important…akuma ends up huggin your face while ken’s has got some space to it and since akuma takes a punch like a girl he is running a risk, staying close for long
Yeah but I feel like crazy kicks arent enough of an addition to warrant bringing it up like that. The fact that he compared the move to a parry especially makes it sound like a non-attacking/evasive special.
Okay I actually suggested this as a joke in another thread but I quickly realised how badass of an idea it was.
Give Ken the Shippu Jinrai Kyak as an EX only move. i.e. It has no meterless equivalent.
240 damage. Confirmable in the same exact ways in 3S, but is still unsafe as ever.
Why the hell not? Ryu got his Shinkuu Tatsumaki as an EX, and it is freaking safe, is a great mixup tool, and he can get his ultra in off of it.

It could be dp motion + 2 kicks or reverse dp motion + 2 kicks. Or it could even be the same motion as it has always been, 2x fireball motion + one kick.
I don’t know the exact animation of the shippuu from 3’s, but for something so long and unsafe I guess on block for a EX, I would rather want it as an ultra. Besides he is probably getting another ultra, so I don’t know which one that would be.
I think we’re getting crazy kicks, this as ultra. Although as Ex is fine, but idk if it would be practical. But its all good to me, as long as he stays awesome lol
If it’s going to be his ultra then it might as well not be called the shippu jinrai kyak.
The whole point of the move was as an easilly confirmable, (comparatively) low damage, low meter cost move. This seems to fit the idea of an EX more than anything in SF4. It wouldn’t work as a full fledged super because it would blow the whole meter, and you lose that feeling of a low cost, but strong move.
If you have it as an ultra it will no longer have ANY of those properties. All you’re going to have is the animation.
I think having this as an EX move would pretty much solve the gripe of Kens’ low damage confirm combos.
What the hell. Just call it a super move. The only one in the game that costs 1 EX bar. Same properties as I’ve suggested but instead you get the super flash and the flashy background on a successful finish.
That would be hardcore.
How about giving him:
a) faster walk speed
b) the knee bash
c) 2 more frames adv. on ex tatsu?
d) faster lp shoryu?

i just hope and pray ken gets another good desent attack for rush down and better start up on his medium high normals. I hope to god we don’t get that roll, i will be so upset. and as mention above if we get crazy kicks :qcf::k: then the ex version could describe as above since visual is multiple crazy kicks with inputs as :qcf::2k:
Yea you’re right. I havn’t played 3’s while being as conscious as now lol, but people seem to always seemed to connect it from a cr. Or other move, to do some good damage. You can’t do that with an ultra at all, unless it got low startup frames, which im sure capcom will forget making the ultra useless
Then again I doubt capcom is gonna look at this, unless we really put it out there if we want this idea. It would be cool though. Although Giving him crazy kicks, plus this, we gotta jam in his imputs, but if its good Idc.
What other does move does he have besides this for an ultra though?
Kenny needs more ways to combo into ultra that doesnt relly on a cancel, maybe after an ex move and the ultra after will no do as much damage like balrogs juggle ultra
240 seems like a bit much for an EX move. 200 sounds better
His EX shoryu does just as much. Only problem is you can only confirm the EX shoryu from close standing/crouching normals.
For further range normals like a cr.mk poke, he can use the Jinrai Kyak to get the same damage in, which, to be honest, is what Ken needs.
Even Ryu can cr.mk poke, EX fireball FADC ultra for the big damage when he needs it. Ken is supposed to be the combo wrecking ball, not Ryu, and frankly Ken just doesn’t have the easy, high damage combos that Ryus’ got.
Instead of adding another motion solely for an EX move, I don’t see why you couldn’t just make it his EX Tatsu (And make his current EX Tatsu his HK Tatsu with a slight damage nerf, and so on and so forth). It’s not like anybody would miss the current LK Tatsu.
I would actually prefer if it were a super move that consumed only 1 EX bar, purely for aesthetic reasons. Also, the double fireball input is more fitting for this move.

Whats the difference of that? Then its the same as a normal nother move that costs one. Plus omg, super input is insane. If you mash accidentally slightly a super comes out, so hm. Especially on controller.
