not really. I mean violent ken was a SvC design ie SNK made and, unless we see other characters with moves exaggerated like outside the core SF series, I doubt Ken will get the psuedo MvSF buffs here.

It is pretty long… But I think Juri’s and Gief’s are longer. Ken’s just SEEMS so long, since when you finish with it, you get that AWESOME 60 second freeze frame on him grinning with his fist pressed to the opponent’s chin. Me and my friends LOL all the time when I finish them like that.
I fucking love how when you get a Hyper Combo finish you get the “KAY OOHHHH!” With Ken’s cocky ass grin. I play this character just for that. And for Ironchart.

You know, if Ken’s Hadouken is gonna be smaller, then his Shoryuken should be way better than Ryu’s. I mean, come on. When Ryu couldn’t do a Shoryuken, Gouken was all “SHOW RYU, KEN.” and then Ken did a fierce Shoryuken and burned down the dojo. That’s how Gouken died.

The only genuine changes I’d like to see are a sped up walk/dash speed, and for the target combo to hit crouching characters.
Everything else is unnecessary.

First, I am NOT a Ken Main, so I don’t know the most about his mechanics, but here are some thoughts from a Non-Ken Non-Shoto:

What if Ken got a set of Buffs and a set of Nerfs? (Please hear me out)
A set of buffs to make him competitive with Sagat and Ryu’s at tourney’s, and at the same time, some nerfs to his flow chart game?
Here’s my thoughts (albeit uninformed) but isn’t there some resentment somewhere in the back of your Ken-maining heads that scrubs online prefer your main and Ryu 15-1 versus all other characters? And if you’re a high-level skilled Ken, I assume you aren’t spamming LP SRK’s and Hadoukens all day every day.
I’m a Vega main (and not a good one yet) but I can say I’m proud there is no such thing as a Vega Scrub spamming stuff online. If they are the scrub spammer type, they’ll get so mad they throw their pad at the TV if they try maining Vega. Try being a Vega and getting cornered. It’s so frustrating, I doubt any scrub-spammer would stick with him. With Vega there is no such thing as a reliable wake-up. That is NOT scrub friendly.
Wouldn’t a set of buffs and nerfs be a win-win? The buffs to make you competitive with Sagat in Tourneys, and nerfs to make your character not the winner of the “Scrub’s Choice Awards”

I think that is what Ryu and Sagat need more then Ken. Maybe Akuma as well. In general, I think that’s how you rebalance top tiers- you nerf their OP shit, but give them new shit to keep them fresh. I really think everyone in SSFIV should get something new to freshen them up, even the well designed chars.
I don’t think his flow-chart game is a big problem. Ok, he’s scrubby- but other chars can be too.
As for Claw, he was a lot more popular when he was scrubbier/stronger. Generally, scrubs will flock to the chars that are strongest in low to intermediate play. You don’t see many scrub Vipers despite her being good at high level. It’s also not a Ryu/Ken thing. Games like BB and KOF- people flock there, despite them not being main chars (you see a lot of Joe in KOFXII but not in other KOF’s, and you see lots of Nu/Arakune in BB, not so much Rachael among scrubs)
What I’d want to see is Ken’s advantages be easier to put into play- why I suggested he get a knee bash command grab to replace his kara-throw. (and an EX to buff- which would do slightly more damage but combo level stun)

You’re definitely right about Ryu, but for some reason, Sagat is not chosen online near as much as Ken and Ryu.
It’s very typical for me to play three hours online and encounter only one non-Ken/Ryu user.

^ You guys exaggerate way too much. I don’t know about Xbox Live, but on PSN I get a lot of variety in my opponents. Okay there are a lot of Ken and Ryu players, but it’s not bad enough to kill the fun.
I’ve never really bothered myself with the Ken scrubs. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I get enough variety to not get pissed off.
Kuzuryu Reppa as ultra and add Ryubi kyaku instead of that lame cvs series Inazuma Kakato Wari.
Yeah, me too… I’ll play a lot of Ryu’s and if someone picks Ken then he’s a scrub because he’s mashing SRK all the time.
I know a lot of people who mained Ken but after a while they switched to Ryu… I hate it when people switch there mains because some other character is better then there main.
I only play low/mid-tier chars and I love it.
I hate top-tier characters - especially Ryu, EVERYONE picks him. (I almost never play Sagats and they don’t piss me off like Ryu… Rufus, Zangief and Balrog are fine. I like playing against them.)

Just switch some stuff from Ryu to Ken.
-Ken should be faster then Ryu, make his dash better and his walkspeed faster.
-He’s a rushdown char so his c.mk and c.hk should be better then Ryu’s. That guy already has so many options.
-Give him a better ultra that you can combo with… SRK > FADC > Ultra is stupid with him right now, imo.
-Give him his long hair back.
