I just dropped $210 on a custom MK stick with non-ergonomic buttons. So yeah, I’m serious about playing again 
Thats what I like to hear Kyah! Going to have to school me till I get better! The demo is too much fun, the final retail version will be tons of fun for any MK fan I am super excited for it. Going to play all the ninjas, and of course kabal and sindel cause those were my characters in mk3
I feel like the only person who hasn’t played some version of MK9! Well I pre-ordered the stick and just in case it sucks I have the Madcatz Kombat overlay for my Comp stick.
I’m really liking what I’ve seen with Mileena and Sub-Zero so i’ll be starting there.

That is true you are old school with the emphasis on old!! Right there with you guys. So far Johny cage looks like my go to guy on this one but i need to play with the rest of the roster. His counter super is just too good.
i played the fuck out of MK1 and MK2 in my day and i have a feeling this will be MK fever all over again.

Yea I would say screw that stick cuz it is pretty damn dumb. It looks like some new blood is popping up for mvc3. That’s what I like to see. Lester, hope you feel better man. Hernias are no joke. I decided to give ssf4 another shot. We will see how that goes. I am still mainly playing marvel just not much online on either of those games. It just throws my timing off. We need to organize a big get together for the upstate to play face to face.

yea i have been trying to get a venue for the Next gvegas, i am going to do it after MK9 comes out. cant wait, but i need a good venue i want to pull the numbers we did at LFG(75-100) and finding a venue for that that i dont have to put down alot of money is a bitch.

and then should i do one old game or just do teams of ssf4 and Marvel?
I’m all about the older games but SSF4 and MvC3 teams would be best imo. Everyone is there to play those anyway. Now I get to bug you even more about when you are holding a tournament. =)

Hey guys. i just moved to the upstate from Florida. I mainly play FPS but am starting to get bored and putting them down. I use to play Street Fighter just fun and never really go into it much. Well Im wanting to get into now. Instead of relying on team mates, now I would have to just do it on my own. If any one would like or care to help me learn the basics, with timing and stuff like that, that would be great. I have booth, MvC3 and Super Street Fighter. Thanks in advance.

@Sundown - you should go up to Clemson and check on campus, there’s usually some kind of group floating around up there, but it is hard to get into without being student (or maybe you are, I don’t know). I took 2nd in a Tekken 5 tournament on campus once (which would have been first, but Larry the Janitor showed up ;p).
Im no student but might have to check that out. Thanks for the advice. Does tekken still get a lot of play?

Sorry to interrupt your thread, but we’re having a tournament in Charlotte this Saturday with an event called the “Pentathlon”. Meaning it’s an event where we will play a total of 5 games. The catch, YOU can actually vote on the game we will playing:
–Voting is open to ALL NC and SC residents ONLY, even if you’re not planning on attending you can still vote.
–Voting is open to 2AM EST on 4/02/2011.
–You must vote for 1 option in ALL categories for your vote to be accepted.
–Since last time we did GGAC, SFEX3, HD Remix, Tekken 5 DR, and CvS2, so those games are not eligible this time. (They can return next time, though)
–No SF4, MvC3, or Tekken 6 as they are majors.
