someone can’t grasp the concept of sarcasm can they.
irony-fucking-ahoy-mate, because yeah, thatd be you that doesnt understand sarcasm. good job.
why was i being sarcastic? because i didnt feel like explaining such a simple concept. when i will be mentioning all these things, bear in mind, judging from your previous post about how fairly the japanese will select their team, i’m speaking on the standpoint of equality and fairness (not a strategic standpoint).
so let me ask you this:
Germany is hosting the 2006 soccer World Cup, do you think they really care if Brazil’s coach is selecting his squad in a fair manner?
Do you think Russia’s tennis Davis Cup team cares what selection process the Austrailians use to determine their team?
There are four sprinters in the 4x100m relay in the Olympics. The US team has a totally fair qualifier where everyone has an equal shot at being on the team. Do you think the Greeks really gave a shit as tp how the US is going to select their team?
In all of these examples, the answer is no. why? because it REALLY DOESNT MATTER. The other teams will do whatever they need to do to be the best while giving what they deem to be a fair shot to the young men/women in their country. Likewise, our goal (meaning US teams) is to do whatever we think it will take for us to be the best.
cool, thanks for the nice response (and jaguar too). i think you just wrote a lot and said very little but i’m guessing when you say youll fix it up, youll brew up a selection mechanism that is a bit more fair and takes into account what others said?
emphy all the way.
throw in opera if he trains super hard too.
who did the captains pick???
Not like a random scrub’s opinion means anything to you, but I honestly think you should go. If not to participate, then to hang out with the guys from Japan, since you seem to be friends with them, and they’re around when you go and all, you know?
Let’s see if this time we can do much better in that 5-5.
Wait a minute
by now team USA is Justin, Hsien, Mike W And Vic right?
so then is
J Wong - Chun Or Ken (since he been playin ken at sbo)
Hsien - Ken
M Watson - Ken
Vic - Dudley
and the other guy is probably gonna be another ken
dont you think it would be nice to put a little variation to the team, I mean 3 kens :xeye:
as what it seems (im talkin bout the thread talkin bout wich japaneese players are coming) team japan is gonna be, Daigo, Nuki, KSK, Kokujin And Tokido
So Is
Daigo - Ken
Nuki - Chun
KSK - Alex
Kokujin - Dudley
Tokido - Urien
is not that japan is much better, is that they use different chars
just my opinion
later
UPDATE my cabinet is coming along great. Check the update and you can see if it looks like somthing you all will be able to play on for the 5v5
TEAM JAPAN member will be:
- Daigo, 2. Nuki
above two are confirmed to be in team Japan as a champion team in SBO3.
Three remaining spots will be competed among these 3S experts:
Kokujin(Dudley)
KSK(Alex)
Tokido(Urien)
Raoh(ChunLi)
Mester(Yun)
Nitto(Yun)
MOV(ChunLi) ** watchout this guy!! he’s the only one who defeated Daigo in SBO3 as well as OCVed all other matches. **
(Chikyu won’t be interested much and prolly not entering team match… )
My prediction who most likely gets spot is gonna be:
- Raoh(70%), 2. MOV(60%), 3. Nitto/Mester(50%), 5. Kokujin(40%), 6. KSK(30%), 7. Tokido(20%) (Chikyu…1%)
about character usage tendancy, we can’t blame many of same top-tier chara is picked.
we don’t care its less variation and just go picking his best trained character!
It would be even better if the rematch could be between the same players from both teams
But I doubt JR is good enough and alex valle is willing to play
so whatever
how are they gonna compete for the spots kuni? are they gonna have an 8 man tourney or something?
I really hope KSK can make it
he is such a great inspiration
later
KSK is the dopest japanese player
hes the only reason i still play alex
why not just put all favorable top players’
names into a hat and draw random?
so who did the captains pick???
Well, apparantly it’s in the rules somewhere that Canadians can’t be picked for any of the teams. Justin Wong wants me on his team but he said he’s not allowed, even though I’m an American Citizen.
Kuroda can beat Justin and Ricky with Q :^(
as long as you are an american citizen, then its fine.
5on5 UPDATE: Just to let everyone know whats going on, there are still only going to be 3 captains and the top 16 will fight it out for the last 2 spots for the 5on5. It has been decided that since this is an EVO event, they will go by last years 3s evo results for the 3 Captain spots. So the Captains are as follws: Justin Wong (ec) Hsien (tx) Mike Watson (wc).
The top 16 will fight it out on friday 8/12, the tournament will be 2/3 single elim. MrWizard will proved the actual time later. Please Captains, have your 4 player pick for the top 16 player showdown for the final 2 spots.
I do apologize for all the confusion and the last second changes. Victoly will automatically be entered as part of SRK’s 4 pick because of all the current changes. I hope everyone can still have fun with this event. Good luck to all the players, I know this year we can definately score more then 3 points vs Japan hehe. I know a few people wont be happy with this current change, but please lets keep the flame war to a minimum. The whole 5on5 was a last minute thing anyhow so, it was destined to have a few problems.
J-Cole
- disregard the pm
- IMO a tournament for 2 spots should be 1/1 double instead of 2/3 single, hypothetically, if vic and ricky are the two best, but they play each other rd 1, one of them doesn’t make it garunteed.
regardless good work on getting this going again.
i agree with fmj.
evo’s got teh internetz goin nutz
So, Justin, Hsien, and Watson are going to choose 4 players each to compete in the 16 man tournament. That is only 12 players, where do the other 4 come from?
Just wondering, this looks like it will be a great event.
