Except he was the only baltimore player than won a match in the final set(two to be precise) and almost ovc nyc had chris g not clutched it out. Im not making a claim for or against his fraudulence, I just don’t get why people spend so much time hating.
Like I said with Flocker winning SBVI month and a half ago… Give him time and we will see if he’s really a good player or a fraud. Only thing that it’s different is that Flocker has an amazing Zero.

I’ve been outside my door twice since Ultimate came out. I won the Box tourney a couple weeks ago and got 3rd today. I can’t get out to WNF without killing an entire day AND the next day (I usually get home from WNF around 3:30am) and since I’m not sponsored I couldn’t get out to NEC. I’ll be at Bar Fights next week and SCR the week after that.
Plus in info that nobody cares about, November is a bad month for me anyways because of NaNoWriMo and in unrelated drama I’m about 60/40 going to move to Alabama by the end of the year so it’s been an interesting month. I barely have had time to play on Xbox. If people watched the Box tournament today I played 7 different teams and 15 different characters (Spiderman, Magneto, X-23, CapAm, Strange, Sentinel, Wolverine, Hawkeye, Trish, Morrigan, Phoenix, Wesker, Strider, Doom, Haggar). I haven’t had a week to myself to just sit back and grind and figure out what’s going to work for me.
Bar Fights and SCR are going to be my first real tests. We’ll see what happens after that. (spoiler: I’m going to lose to Combo Fiend, get mad as fuck and learn Zero).

You’re actually doing NaNoWriMo? I dunno how people make time for all that, but I’m on indefinite writer’s block, so whatever. And I thought Box Arena was your sponsor? Or do you just use that as part of your tag? Because I’ve mostly heard commentators refer to you as “Box Arena’s Viscant” or something like that.

Threw down 140k words this month. It’s not edited, it’s not finished, it’s not good but I put that much on paper this month.
Box Arena isn’t a sponsor, just the group I’m affiliated with. They can’t afford to send me places so I’ve been on the lookout for a sponsor since Evo. No takers so far. It’s too financially punitive to pay for travel expenses on your own. For example Seasons Beatings this year my match vs. PR Rog in losers finals was basically to decide if I break even for the trip or not. The whole trip cost me about $750 altogether. 3rd would not have covered expenses, 2nd did. Without sponsors it’s too hard to make it out to cross-country tournaments.

Haha, I see now. Should probably try that, but too picky about what I write.
And yeah, I can obviously understand expenses being an issue, but trips to tournaments can turn into vacations, and vacations never pay for themselves. Maybe think about tournaments that way? Not too sure how you aren’t sponsored yet either, if I’m being honest. The Evo win is a clincher for those kind of dealings. Especially regarding Box Arena, it just strikes me as weird that a group could have such popular streams, and be home to well-known players, yet not sponsor those players.

Where in particular?
Huntsville. I haven’t been back since I was 10. I’m not looking forward to this and fighting this. Probably not going to work, I will likely be there by January. Nothing’s for sure yet but…yeah. Family drama is the best drama.
And yeah I treat a lot of tournaments as vacations. Like Season’s Beatings would have been great whether I covered expenses or not, I had never been to one of their tournaments and I’m really glad I went, I had a great time. It’s just you can’t do this kind of thing over and over unless it’s profitable long term. Like I was talking to Justin and he went outside of California 22 times in 2011. That’s so insane to me. Like not just the expenses of doing it but the actual getting on a plane and going somewhere 22 times in 52 weeks. Just seems really crazy to me. Then again, I work out of home and tend not to wear pants 300 out of 365 days so maybe I’m the wrong person to offer opinions on this.
