What tuesday streams are there? Just wondering. Arcade UFO will be streaming umvc3 tomorrow!
8 at the Break
This Reggie ROb guys HUlk is sick!
ah alright. usually they have some big names so that’s tough “competition” i guess LOL
arcade ufo is miami right? Thats the flashmetriod ryan hunter crowd right?
nope we’re austin, tx. no popular names outside of fubarduck who runs the arcade and is a great guy, but we have some other great players.
if you do end up tuning into our stream, you may see some stuff you haven’t seen widely before though.
Women?
nice. nope. was talking more about character selection.
I might check it out actually, not feeling a lot of the philly players/teams so I might bail on 8wayrun tomorrow. But tbh I have my linear algebra final on thursday so Im prolly not gonna be stream monstering it up much this week.
(Sigh. Another day, another instance of my browser freezing seemingly due to something related to SRK even with Adblock on. I’d like to blame this computer, but I can’t be sure it isn’t this site at times too. Oh well, I’ll just blame both since they’re not me–it’s the American thing to do.)
As I was going to say hours ago, I have to agree that the largest problems with UMvC3 are, like MvC3, still systematic ones unfortunately. Did they honestly make teching throws that easy? I just thought it was everyone online being completely obvious/mashing on +:h: that was doing that, though it would explain somethings. Then again, I’ve heard that TACs are supposedly punishable now and yet I’ve to be able to punish anyone for pulling those stupid, almost-risk-free things.
Even with promised patch, though, I wouldn’t hold my breath any of this gets fixed or changed, especially if they’re focusing on infinites and glitches supposedly. (Who still has an infinite besides Wolverine’s Hokuto No Ken impression anyway?)
If anything else gets changed, then it probably will be the seemingly most glaring problem of Wesker rather than actual most glaring problem of X-Factor.
Mahvel, baby! [/Yipes must hate us now]
Ugh. Why do some tournament organizers do this?
I know they can’t really control what happens with players showing up when they’re supposed to and what not, but it seems like a lot of the time they make things masochistically more difficult on themselves by being disorganized, whether it’s intentional or not.
Even as much as I don’t like Sentinel (as a character in general; still say we should gotten Ultron or actual Nimrod or even freaking Bastion), this sounds like a good if not great idea. You can’t deny the power of Sentinel drones, even if I’ve agree with DevilJin for a while that Sentinel is at his scariest when he has two assists to back him up. So maybe put Sentinel second even as much as you’d be calling him? Dormammu with X-Factor Level 3 is a lot scarier than Sentinel with Level 3.
Then again, I’m pretty biased when it comes to Dormammu and saying anything he’s involved in is good.
Mmm…Dread Dormammu…
It’s really more lenient? Weird. The only reason I can think of that they would have done that would because they thought it would make online better or easier or something (especially with how shitty American infrastructure can be, even when people aren’t playing on dial-up connections).
Regardless, as Aldife said, for the most part, you just have to take it a bit slower. This seems to be the case even when it comes to Gimlet. I’ve gotten to the point where I can pretty much get Chris’s Grenade Launcher to come out 100% and combo as long as I remind himself to do it slightly slower after I do Gimlet. Otherwise I get Sweep Combo and end up getting punched in the face (by Wesker).
If anything, it seems to screw up singular characters who already had overlap problems even more due to how HSD seems to work/be tighter overall and thus having a lot less leniency when it comes to time. She-Hulk is the prime example that comes to mind, especially considering how annoying it is to just want to drop kick motherfuckers only for Jennifer to act like she’s a Care Bear and try to hug them instead. I’m sure part of it is just me needing practice with her, but still.
I’m not sure what’s more odd. Seeing only 1 Vergil or seeing 2 Ryus. Seeing 1 Viewtful Joe isn’t surprising, though; he’s never been bad; it’s just his shitty range on all his normals is a pretty glaring weakness that people don’t want to work around in a game where like a dozen characters have normals that fill up half of the screen easy.
I can sort of understand the lack of new characters in general, but I must admit I’m surprised to not see Nemesis or Ghost Rider either. It’s not like they’re Rocket Raccoon or Iron Fist or Phoenix Wright. They seem pretty easy to learn/pick up.
Has Combo & buddies been stream lately?
Not as far as I can tell. Last two times i saw Comboratory live it was someone playing Counter Strike, I believe.
Okay, so is Hulk really proving his worth, or are people playing too scared/button pressy?
Combo plays CS?
Dude, I understand your frustration, but what’s the surprise? It’s a new game, people are gonna take their time. It happened with vanilla too, people were still trying marvel 2 strategies. Patience is a virtue.
Of all the grudge matches at bar fights Im looking forward to Dios X vs Noel Brown.
No. It was a roommate.
The Break could go either way tonight. Either a lot of folks are still recovering from NEC and will stay home, or you’ll get to see a preview of the big saturday showmatches tournament since most of those guys tend to go there. I’m hoping for the latter, and I wish it wasn’t such a long drive for me to be there.
When’s bar fights?
Some time this week IIRC, someone posted it in here, but it got lost amongst the salt that was NEC.
edit its this sunday
I wonder what the money matches were like at NEC XII.
There is Unknown vs Noel Brown at Youtube.
