I wholly endorse running the mini-pools system to run things more fluidly and thus make players feel better than this hours-between-matches stuff. Sure it’s fine for OG tournaments… but not when there is a blow up of entrants.
Did damage really get buffed across the board? It seems like a lot more matches are resulting in time outs now, at least online. Or maybe the damage is so high that a lot of people are playing super defensive, I dunno.
Its relative, someone like zero can self otg now so he does more damage, and wesker gets the damage boost from his glasses, but in terms of system changes, the fact that meter builds slower now means damage technically got lower since there are less DHC’s and lvl 3’s available. Plus apparently supers scale higher now and x-factor 1 and 2 do less damage so no, damage is not higher across the board.
I’ve never liked this idea because it means that the guy who falls behind first has access to XF3, but the guy who establishes the lead first never does. It literally makes the “comeback” aspect of the mechanic even worse.
Yeah people were dropping mad combos and the lack of things like DHC glitch and OP XF1 damage made it so matches were lasting hella long. Until people get their combo game up there’s gonna be some time outs.
But as soon as you kill one off, you wouldn’t have x-factor 3 anymore, you would drop to level 2 bonuses. The only thing that should be “stamped” at activation is duration.
Yeah Hawkeye and V.Joe were being mad lame at NEC.
I think this was another problem with NEC. Not so much that it shows that Wesker’s buffs on point and indirect buffs to his assist (due to nerfs to other assists) really puts him up there still. It’s more so the fact that people just have not really put a lot of lab time in the new game yet so it’s easy to just run to the guy that gives your point characters easy mode relaunches and durps around in XF.
Like when you watch DiosX play you see real technologies and things that could really change how the game is played going into the future. At NEC everyone was more or less like “shit…well assists got nerfed…but wesker assist still gives me combos, and wesker is still XF hurp durp so…just pick wesker”.
I wouldn’t put Wesker in S tier if it wasn’t for the assist nerf. It’s just right now the way the game is going the fact that he makes everyone else easier to play and is easy to play himself…you have to be blind to not put him S tier for the time being. I’m fine with holding that and putting Wesker at S tier which he pretty much is if you consider what he does to the game early on.
Not to mention that the combos people did finish were more basic. Stuff like the Dieminion time outs from a couple weekends ago can be avoided once he learns more advanced combos.
I know everyone was hurting from trying to run a 200+ man tourny in a single day, but all things considered you did awesome RayRay. Thanks for watching some of my matches too! Oh and good luck for Saturday, I think you have a good chance.
Dieminion has a damn good Strange already but yea he needs to work on that x factor palm loop tech, it did me wonders in all of my matches (and I’m far from a strange expert, I just know a couple gimmicks after picking him up a week ago haha). I missed watching most of his matches except for the one on stream where he played a Shuma beam assist user and did the projectile counter super against it which was so smart. I wouldave reaction supered every time I saw Dormammu teleport but other than that he was solid.
The one thing he does that I need to start thinking about is picking the right Strange assists for certain matchups. Choosing the eye assist against Wesker makes so much sense but I only know how to keepaway and combo off of the bolts so far so I stuck with that one. The eye scales damage like crazy too, not a fan of that. : /
Edit: Speaking of Strange players, I just watched the TNT matches (on front page), and watched Champ’s Strange…he needs a little bit more time in the lab…
Just finished watching The Box Arena archive from over the weekend. Jesus christ DiosX blew everyone up. I think his weakness is that he’s always calling assists as fast as he can, but it seems like he’s worked out ways to protect them too. Scary stuff.
NEC just reminded me of a few quotes people have been making. “There are Wesker Teams, Teams that can handle Wesker, and teams that lose”. Other then that, I just need to keep practicing. I have a feeling he’ll get patched like Sentinel. Nova’s a beast too…
