Things to learn from that include don’t press any buttons or call assists when Arthur has level 3 and don’t let him get you in a corner. LOL.

You only joined up recently, but seriously, she has more mind-blowing technology than any other character pretty much. In fact, most arguments are about how practical it is for her to do stuff (it is very practical), not what she is capable of.

First time posting doesn’t mean first time reader or first time playing the game, I know my stuff. I know you post a lot but that doesn’t make you right and the fact that I just joined doesn’t make me wrong.

His control of the neutral game is pants-on-head retarded. He’s in my top 5 because of his match-ups. I’m just glad that his assists are average, or at least not something traditional like a beam.

I think his neutral game is awesome, but I place him in the a-tier not S because heavily armed zoning, and long normals shut him down. His lack of a teleport means that although he may move fast if people see him use demon missile M they can expect for him to appear on the other side. So Firebrand is basically bound to one side of the screen. (but that isn’t necessarily bad)

The thing about projectile wars is if Pool is doing jump back guns and Task is on the ground, it catches Task in the face, since the arrows don’t go high. Unless I just suck.

You can do something silly like H counter XX arrow super, but you don’t always want to waste meter like that.

Bad timing? it’s kind of hard to do it when they’re tossing grenades from the top of the screen and you can’t even see your character.

I smack grenades with Dorm’s flaming pimp hand, sometimes. But it doesn’t always happen the way I want.

She only has one method of approach from above and no teleports. Her only normals with reach are crouching light and j.S which scale her damage really bad. Astral vision is good shit, but it’s not safe to throw out and Finishing Shower is not very good outside of specific situations. Her damage is ass and her combos are harder than average to pull off compared to characters like Wesker. She also has no normal OTG moves/specials which makes getting good damage a chore off hard knockdown(Shadow servant away if you’ve got the space though).

She has redeeming qualities, but she is pretty much a zoner with meh moving options and bad normals. That does’t cut it for high tier in Mahvel. She’d be up there if she had a flight cancel capable OTG spike kick(like her older versions) that you could combo afterwards, a normal ground dash for an alternate approach path and faster speed/OTG qualities on her finishing shower.

"One method of approach"
Theoretically, you’re right, but when that approach is covered by a fireball with no recovery, it gets much, much better. Besides, she’s a zoning character, you only need to approach in very rare circumstances or when your opponent has put themselves in the wrong position. Also, assist covered forward dash is another good approach which leads to a vague high low.

"Low damage"
If damage is a factor for you, you can kill 900k with 2 supers, given the right team comp. Omniscythe was running Morrigan/Vergil/Wesker, stealing meter and killing a lot of characters for either 2 or 3 meter in one hit. It’s just optimizing her hits is really difficult. besides, if you don’t care about killing in one hit, you can just zone and confirm whatever hits you do get into 300k with meter steal and just keep winning neutral game… she does that really well, so against a lot of characters you really just won’t need to one shot.

"No non-metered OTG"
She HAS an OTG though. And she can combo to DHC or XFC with it reliably, so when you need someone dead, you can definitely use that OTG. Better than Trish, who is widely considered a top character, yet has no comboable OTG to combo her grabs. So, Trish’s grabs are useless, but she’s good, and Morrigans grabs are meter dependant but comboable, and she’s bad? (She also has an OTGable 1 frame command grab that can be OS’d to reversal super, you know)

"Redeeming qualities"
Okay, now I’m confident you’ve never played a good morrigan, or you would understand she is not a “underwhelming character with redeeming qualities”. She has absolutely every tool necessary to be at the least a high tier character. She has strong, low/no commitance zoning. If she’s in flight, she can block absolutely anything regardless of if she’s already in a move (Think gimlet/bionic arm/etc). She has a reversal super that is safe at many distances and beats almost every hyper in the game when activated second. If you use her Blade assist, her team hyper combo becomes a reversal you can mash on while blocking that will blow up assists for free and be plus 20+ frames for her afterwards. Her zoning with mirror image is unrivaled, and beats nearly every character in the game (And still generates meter, during)

I think you should take a second or third look at her, and stop looking backwards to other games. This is not the same morrigan, and that doesn’t mean she’s bad.

I can’t take Morrigan seriously as top tier on the fact that if you know she has crappy lows, then just block high. Other than that she’s pretty solid. Upper Mid definitely (B+). If she had something to get her around faster she would definitely be top tier. Even a 'pool teleport would be enough. But that airdash of hers is just asking for trouble.

You’re right, that was overly mean of me and I apologize for that. But you really need to man up a bit, people are not gonna treat you like your special just because, I’m gonna cuss and call you ignorant or new, because quite frankly that’s what it looks like. You’d be better off proving me wrong rather than calling me a baby. This is the internet, everyone is a man until proven otherwise.

As for Viper, all you are doing is just saying, “your wrong” over and over again. I could literally spend all day explaining to people who think Viper doesn’t have tech all the things that she can do. But seriously, the Viper forums are covered in shit that the rest of the cast only wishes they could do, I’m not gonna sit here and enumerate it for the 8000th time just because you posted for the first time.

So, when you come in here and say that Viper doesn’t have tech, that’s akin to coming in here and saying Dante doesn’t have that many specials. It tells me that you really need to look harder.
