UMVC3 SRK Tier List/Theory Discussion. (NEW THREAD NOW AVAILABLE)

You forgot teleports

DJ Huoshen’s already been playing a better point Felicia for a long while and placing well at majors. Plus my brother still has the best Dark Felicia.

If Viper actually has an air double instant overhead command grab, I wanna see this because I have no idea what an air double instant overhead command grab would look like.

It looks like Thor if he was top tier.

I think those were two different things, and Viper can chain a seemingly infinite number of overheads together.

I was mostly just being trolly though…

where’'s task?

well i still don’t think task beats trish, i don’t think he beats viper either, and does he beat deadpool?

Task vs Hawkeye or Vergil is pretty hard for him.

Well imo Task v Trish is 4-6
Task v Viper is 4-6
and Task v Deadpool is 5.5-4.5 Simply because Task WILL kill deadpool when he touches him and deapool has to touch Task twice.

He got banned because he had accumulated a bunch of infractions here and on the SG forums. Then he came back literally ten minutes later with the account name MysticRay**!** and got himself permabanned.

You know, I was looking forward to some Christmas Shuma pics from him.

Anyway.

Task has Shield Skills to get through Pool’s spam. Honestly, Deadpool is a lot rarer than I thought he’d be a year ago, much less good ones. As with most characters, once Task is in there, Pool’s most likely dead. Getting in there might be a bit of an issue besides Shield, though you have arrows to help out too.

I’d put Task vs Trish at 5.5-4.5. It’s really really close, the only thing that hands it to Task is that he can cover multiple angles faster than Trish can, so she has to be really really careful to try to zone him at all. It’s pretty even but I’d hand it to Task, slightly.

Out of curiosity, how do people think Viper vs MODOK is? Viper’s main issue is super jump, and MODOK is like the fly master. He also can probably solidly keep her out. However, if Viper puts the pressure on, I don’t know what he can do there. I mean, he’s MODOK.

yeah i would agree with that actually

that’s true but i’m pretty sure he can’t s.skills through ninja gifts
and if deadpool catches tasks throwing arrows with no assist covering his back he can teleport and hurt him

I have never faced a good MODOK so I really dont know. The ones I have faced I havent had any problems. I sort of want to keep it that way… I dont know if I really want to play a good MODOK.

no clue, i’ve played some but they always died before i got to see what he can do from the air to her, how does vajra effect his air play? i’m pretty sure she doesn’t have to care that much about barrier stopping siesmos

He can block during flight, so Vajira isn’t a gigantic problem.

2 things…’

I think we all need to think about Wolverine because i can’t see that guy as a non- S tier. I don’t know, he’s still one of the scariest characters. His health his good, his damage is insane, and he requires very little execution to his gameplay that’s uncommon for the opponent to mess up a combo with him.

But i like the list, thumbs up to deviljin.

Thx for the props. I figured it would be best to just have the thread work where people can just see one list with the tiers so they can see what’s going on with people’s feelings on the tiers without having to wade through pages.

As for Wolverine…he would be S tier if like Trish, Zero, Dorm, Viper, Taskmaster, Dante, Vergil, Doom and quite a few other characters weren’t in the game. He has one of the scariest close range games but his hit boxes in general just aren’t big enough and he can’t put enough hit boxes on the screen to really shut down a lot of the other big boys. He just does very well because he is still literally the easiest character in the game to play (2nd easiest being Wesker who has more utility overall on point/as assist).

Until Wolverine gets huge sword normals, a bunch of annoying projectiles and some other shit (like one meter TOD’s)…I can’t see him being S pretty much ever anymore especially with the B Slash nerfs. Vanilla B Slash was probably the most overpowered special move in the game but now it’s a lot more modest (still good…but hardly the get in for free it used to be).

At best I would consider him like the Rufus of the game. Has enough things that are really annoying for lesser players, and still solid enough to bring to a tournament and do very well in. Definitely not a character that shuts down most of the other cast anymore. He didn’t even really in Vanilla it’s just the other characters that could really deal with him just weren’t played much outside of Dante or Zero who were both game controlling S tiers then also.

in my unified tier theory, all the Top tiers have at least one thing broken. Wolverine is just good in every way, and that’s not enough.

(as noted, vanilla Bslash filled that slot)

I’d say Task-Trish is more even than that, since Trish at range is strongest at two specific angles, and unlike most characters Taskmaster can actually fight back in both directions for the most part, while also having the option to shift to an angle Trish is less comfortable fighting at.

I do think the matchup is extremely momentum based… That is, whoever has the life lead wins, as both have strong enough defenses to mitigate the other’s rushdown most of the time. But I think Taskmaster has a slight edge at neutral, pushing the matchup in his favor.

It could be just because I haven’t fought any really good Trishes and am looking at the matchup the wrong way though. I’ve just noticed that if I put myself at midrange and stay even or above her on the vertical axis that she really can’t do that much to stop him.

I don’t have any good experience with the Viper matchup … and I can see a lot of interesting variables going on there depending on assist usage. So I’m wondering what the big Viper players think of the Taskmaster matchup…

Yah. I felt like a fraud man, he was raping my trish so hard I had to play Dante on point. I used to believe in my Trish… then I played Ace’s Haggar and got a pipe to the face.

Trish v Task is 5-5 imo.
