We don’t need to take into account every assist that buffs a character. The tiers are about EVERYTHING involved in the character. Zero is S tier because of his own tools, and what he can do with assist behind him. We don’t need to list Zero as S tier with Jam Session/Rapid Slash/etc beside him. It’s unnecessary.

If you do a launcher into a tiger knee plasma storm, you can actually link a second plasma storm because of the elevation. Could be useful for combos involving certain assists as plasma storm does a shit ton of damage. This is probably known already but thought it was neat.

I don’t know when you would honestly use it, but I found a cool combo with it using missles and the vajira assist which allows me to actually to call strider, launcher, tigerknee air raid, and the little drones otg out of the vajira and allow me to launch into x2 plasma storm.
Good point but that early day tier list didn’t reach to even the mid age of vanilla, i believe. Moreover, Viper was only considered bad during that time when people were still adjusting to the new dynamics of Vanilla (DHC glitches, various loops, and even Xfactor techs). I don’t think " lets remember Vanilla" is a well-rounded basis because when Vanilla was new. It was seriously new. Most of our 7+ year long MVC2 habits and mentality were still in us during Vanilla’s early days which is why it can be a bit problematic to give the same judgement with Ultimate because now we are all used to this new engine and dynamics that Capcom introduced to us last year. We have better familiarity at what works best then we did with vanilla because the adjustment level wasn’t as complex.
You need to try and experiment with it more often, I have some interesting combos with Ghost Rider/Hawkeye which involve TK’d launchers. There’s lots of interesting possibilities from it, including combo extensions for higher damage because of added S to the string without actually initiating a launcher. You can use assists to cancel the initial launch and do things at different elevations or cancel into specials you otherwise couldn’t connect.
This isn’t the combo I do but its almost identical. Works on everyone. Now with that Vergil can TOD the entire cast having less then a bar stocked.
Found out today also if you have 4 bars vergil can deal 1 mil off a ground throw though if your willing to spend 4 bars you coulda just done the same with xfactor, lol.
