Actually I know several players who tried to main Wright. One match they got all good evidence in five second and won. In the other two matches they got one good, two bad and six bad in a row.

The fact his gameplan centers around being lucky and getting good evidence for his projectiles and TA mode which itself is lacking outside of XF3 due to them not giving him enough mixups.

I would of turned him into a more CapCom type char with buddies helping him.

You are severely overrating zoning in this game. Also, you can’t approach tiering as JUST match ups. Wolverine adds something to a team that a lot of characters can’t and that is tremendous momentum. We can stop discussing this though, I can’t seem to change your mind. I promise you though, zoning is not as powerful as you seem to believe, unless it’s very specific zoning teams.

Dude, what does crunch mean? Ammy performs well at any spot on a team. Let me go find me tools list I posted again (scrolls up):

Ammy has more tools that most characters in the game do. She’s the second swiss army knife of this game (maybe the third, after Viper and Dante).

Disc: Great strings, Solar Flare counters are especially good in particular match ups, nice jumping H,
Glaive: Huge range, huge jumping H (better for range than quick a quick overhead like Disc), a dive kick, thunder edge is safe,
Rosary: HUGE jumping H (really just for spacing), Cold Star is fantastic with assist + stuttering,
Overall: Paper is create for safe strings and screen control, Slow Down makes all of Ammy’s match ups easier, Okami Shuffle helps shut down specific match ups and has great utility as a THC, huge airthrow, solid damage, Cold Star assist is great and versatile.

As you can see, she has a lot of options. I’ll cut this short again for you to absorb and respond.

As for Phoenix, just the risk of her gaining 5 bars is enough IMO. She definitely is not the threat she was before, but you can’t ignore the fact that 5 bars will likely end the game. She still can escape several set ups with air dash up, flight mode, etc. Though she is definitely more suspect to snapback mix ups.

Coming to the crunch means down to the moment. Clockw0rk is a good example, his doom and strider perform far better in the moment than amaterasu does, although that could simply be down to her being his weakest character. Although like I said, I can’t comment much on amaterasu, I placed her mid because it seems fair for the time and her performance in tournaments is average.

Also zoning is extremely effective, no over rating what so ever, so many zoning characters wouldn’t be unanimously agreed top otherwise, and players like Dieminion wouldn’t be placing top 3 if that weren’t true either. The agreed top tiers right here consist mostly of zoners who have rushdown capabilities, this character type is the best character type in the game, no argument.

I mean seriously…how can you watch that stream which had 3 different great zeros and be like hes not retarded. One touch kills on Haggar? Are you serious? And this is not S tier, especially with the normals this dude has. I was thinking people really should be banned from this thread for not having Zero S in their rankings lol.

I actually liken it to the recent underrating of vergil since 99% of them are fraudulent as hell.

runnign away by SJ or flying or air dashing or whatever is a tactic that works against everybody.

Try running away from a Dormammu with Lvl 3 X factor throwing Purification, flaming spheres combined with teleports for a blocking nightmare, what if he decides to use Liberation?, or from Strider with Ouroboros and Vajra. Can you escape from a LvL 3 X Factored firebrand with demon helper out and white armor?

These are characters that have real Anchor potential and don’t have to work nearly as much as C. Viper for it.

This. I don’t see why Phoenix Wright is leauges worse than Hsien-ko. If you think Hsien-ko doesn’t have terrible luck, you haven’t heard about that bomb scares nearly all of Hsien-ko players from ever using her special item toss.

Avoiding Viper in the air is only as viable as avoiding Wesker in the air is. Except Viper’s air movement is better and she has an air move that destroys all non super projectiles while causing a soft knock down that she gets to combo after and has more horizontal range than Magneto’s jump H. I still feel that anchor is not her ideal position however.

Dunno, from what I’ve done/seen, good evidence has always been easy to come by.

I just see Wright as still potentially workable. No mixups suck, shit normals suck, Turnabout is pretty underwhelming most of the time, but I just see him as a workable character. Bottom for sure, just not all on his own.

I would of turned him into a more CapCom type char with buddies helping him.

…This isn’t true though. More often than not zoning isn’t winning.

And OF COURSE a character who can do both is going to be top tier…that’s incredibly obvious. Zoning isn’t what’s ultimately winning majors in Marvel. I have no clue what game you’re watching.

And yes, Clockw0rk’s Ammy isn’t quite up to par yet. She was good in Vanilla, but he’s missing a lot of confirms now. She is still A tier, by far. Too many tools to not be.

What if I have XF myself still? People are constantly forgetting XF works both ways. (this is directed at your chip like situatons). I agree people with tracking teleports are godlike anchors, but Viper is still a beast.

I agree those are all great anchors. But what if you dont have 3 bars if your Strider or Firebrand? Or what if I have Xfactor against Dormammu and literally just sit there negating all the chip and pushblock all the spheres?

The problem with setting something up like the top 10 characters are S tier is that it would become very innacurate as everyone in that tier wouldnt be equal or close to equal. I would love for this game to have 10 S tier characters, hell I would love 20… but you cant force these things. You need to naturally figure out who is better than others and not set up fixed things like 10 in S 10 in A 10 in B etc.

If you personally believe that the top 10 are all S tier worthy and very close to each other in their rank then I respect that. But when you set things up like 10 or 8 or 6 have to be S then you are sort of setting yourself up for inaccuracy

Hmm… i catch your drift, but this game is balanced enough for 10 characters at S tier. My actual reason why i see the top 10 as the S tier is because these characters provide a strong dominance to a teams dynamics. Just like the Sentinel, Storm, Cable and Magneto did in MVC2. Those 4 provided a factor in teams that none of the top tiers could provide equally. All MVC2 teams needed a god tier to atleast be viable and due to that, the God tier/S was only 4. In MVC3, Zero, Wesker and Viper are not the only ones who give that supernatural factor to teams. This is my actual take on it and i will leave my opinion at this… but i really do think that the S tiers should not be limited to 3-4 characters only.

Strider with Ouroboros active isn’t actually too bad for certain characters and teams to blow up at all though in a different way. Dormammu in X-factor is indeed terrifying.

Huh… I just realized something…
IF we are basing all tiering on teams…

There are 50 characters, right?

Teams of 3…

Combination formula = 50! / (50-3)!(3!) = 19600 Combinations?

And that is NOT counting the different orders in the team,
just the characters chosen themselves!

I guess our Tier list is going to have to be MUCH bigger?

For sure. Like I say I don’t know much about Amaterasu other than what I see, I don’t player nor do I play against her. On paper she’s sound, still need to see more of her in action at her best.

Important additional thing, why are people fighting? Me and M0-T3MP35T have a larger disagreement than most of you and despite some misunderstandings we’re being fairly civil about it, why are people being so aggressive about their opinions when we all just want to have the most accurate understanding of how powerful various characters are in this game?
