I’ve gotta say, I’m really pleased with the way the tier lists are turning out. Its true, typically its too early to come up with a tier list / in a game like Marvel its difficult to accurately form a tier list. BUT, we’ve had some solid opinions from a bunch of users coming in, and I actually eventually we’ll reach a solid base for an actual tier list.

Looking at the tier list, I can’t help but be impressed at how viable the characters are in this game.
S to B tier characters are all completely usable, and a fair amount of C tier characters are usable too. There’s definitely more character viability in this game than your standard fighter.

Grand tier list is fine on the upper end but the C tier has too many variations in quality. No way is IM on par with Hsien Ko and PW.

Looking at the tier list again, A tiers should just be combined. Those 4 A+ characters look sort of like outliers.

I think Viper should be listed as “(Theory) Viper”, and there should be an asterisk (*) explaining: SRK Forums only.
Also Theory Viper shouldn’t be S-Tier, she should be obviously be Chuck Norris-tier, considering how much these forums have overrated her since week 1 in Vanilla.

I disagree. For all I remember, all the way before MarlinPie started becoming popular on streams, Viper was considered to be on the same tier as Chun-Li (bottom tier) was on MANY tier lists. Don’t tell me how, but you can check the old threads to see I am not laying.

It was one of those things I’ll never understand, like Zero doing low damage, Sentinel being broken, people complaining about PW before the game was released etc.

I think Akuma is high becausehe has:

• Decent Overhead
• Good mobility
• Hits hard
• Air Fireball covers the all important 45 degree angle
• Beam is a threat
• Dive kick and high priority tatsu

The only negatives about this dude is low health and short limbs. I’d say his tier placement is accurate because all of the characters in the higher tiers have better ways of opening people up.

i understand he has good tools but matchup wise i don’t think he’s better then cap or pool in all honesty i think pool aside from assists is better then him on every level

This game looks so much different when one player can hit real combos and the other can’t. It looks literally unwinnable for the other guy.

Your definition of solid reasoning and logic is posting a move list and then giving a brief description of each move, not what I’d call reason and logic, but keep enjoying it by all means.

What are Vergil’s weaknesses? Im having trouble deciphering them. the only thing that I have noticed is that the recovery on some of his normals are incredibly long.

He can’t whiff cancel except with supers when not in Devil Trigger, so that long recovery is a huge issue. Block his mixup once when he doesn’t have meter and he’s done (when he has meter he’s forced to spend it).
