From the mission mode, the X-Factor one. I was toying around with Taskmaster trying to get down some AG breakers when I realized the Shield Skills->Arrows->:l: works outside of XF. Pulling it off online is a joke though, and you can only get 2 reps max while completely destroying your hitstun.
Deadpool and Firebrand should be A. I seriously think were undercrediting pool and overcrediting firebrand. The game is still young and people arenāt really used to 'brand yet.
Aww I remember that trial. I was hype I thought he might of had some nice combos. Maybe someday he will be Swagmaster.
why is haggar c in the grand teir list when mostly everyone puts him in b now? i also still dont understand why thor is considered b when no one is doing anything with himā¦i see him in b in alot of tier list and i ask why?
Fair enough. You can sit there and try and discuss matchups based on 3v3, 3v2, 3v1, 2v3, 2v2, 2v1, 1v3, 1v2, 1v1, XF, no XF and the whole other mirriad of variables that goes into account for every single character, every single assist and every single possible team formation in the game, and base your tier list off that. While youāre at work, Iāll sit here in my highly confused state with my box of popcorn and wait for a natural metagame to form and then Iāll base my tier list off that. I mean, if you think youāll get done first by all means go ahead, you might be a genius at mathematics and have a whole lot of spare time on your hands, but me personally Iād rather just wait for people to play the game and start dominating consistently with a particular group of teams because then most of the work is already done for me. Youāre welcome to join me of you wish.
[details=Spoiler]S tier= C. Viper, Dante, Wesker, Zero, Magneto

A tier= Akuma, Amateratsu, Felicia, Hawkeye, Nova, Phoenix, Spencer, Taskmaster, Trish, Firebrand, M.O.D.O.K

C tier= Hsien-Ko, Phoenix Wright, Tron[/details]
This is my list. Shame on anyone who puts Morrigan above mid/B tier and shame on anyone who rates Iron Fist lower than mid tier too. Shuma stepped up, She Hulk is not THAT terrible, MODOK could totally fall into high A tier over time. Game has good balance and anything at mid tier or above can WRECK HOUSE. Still salty as fuck about Hsien-Ko though!
>:(
Hawkeye requires xfactor but he can do over 1.2mil damage on any S.H
I think itās a solid first grand list, but there should be a D tier. At the very least Tron and Phoenix Wright are not on the levels of Haggar, Arthur, Iron Fist, etc.
This made me LOL. Like I said, its simply a tier list made by the most regular posters on this thread. El Maiz has the same problem from what I understand. Donāt sweat it, youāre with the āin crowd.ā
Good to know. I donāt post in here enough to tell, heh. Iām enjoying the debate though.
MODOK I donāt really like to delve into because thereād be too much for me to explain about him and his proper playstyle being that the general knowledge about him is so low, nobody would be able to debate me unless they were also a MODOK guruā¦in which case itād just be a circle jerk on how good he is lol. In my personal opinion, and those I play on a regularā¦heās top tier for sure. If you want to go by the letter system heās a solid A, A+ or even S depending on your assist(s). If you want to theory talk about controlling space, MODOK outshines any other character by far, including Zero and Viper. All of his āissuesā can be remedied by clever use of his tools and a solid fundamental defense. He has TONS of properties and options that no other characters have. Most obvious being calling assist from the air, Jamming controls, un-destructible attack/movement nullifying barriers, and self made instant unblockables. Frankly, a lot of characters donāt have the tools to deal with him if played properly and the ones that do, arenāt top tier lol. I could go in depth if you really want me too, but in the end I think itās something youād have to experience to truly understand.
Strange is actually a lot like MODOK, except he has a teleport for movement. I think heās top tier as well, considering you know how to use his tools in a way that wonāt get you punished. That takes a thorough understanding of the system mechanics and proper use of your assists. Honestly heās only as good as you are clever minus the X-factor abuse. Damage wise heās a monster. Heās easily got the most air tight, damaging resets in the gameā¦and is no slouch in the raw damage department either. Some of the stuff players like Ryan Hunter are doing are only a tip of the iceberg. Iāve got some extremely awesome stuff iām just dying to style on people with in tournament lol. WNF cant come back soon enough. I really love everything about this character.
I play a mean Rocket Raccoon as well lol. I feel heās B+, A- with the right assists (which are really specific). Heās actually way more damaging than people think. Iāve got some assisted B&Bās that do over 850k with 1 meter. Iām still working out the kinks in his neutral game and setting up confirmable trap situationsā¦but he can be very annoying, like MODOK, with the right assists. Luckily those assists are also great assists and belong to great characters.
Woooooo, obligatory Spencer is S Tier.
Which assists are you using with Rocket Raccoon, if you donāt mind me asking?
Hereās my new completed Tier list, itās pretty rushed so feel free to change around some of the placings (mainly in the B+ Tier) If you feel that something is wrong.
A+ Tier: C.Viper, Zero, Dante, Strider, Firebrand.
A Tier: Yogurt, Dorm, Fatneto, Vergil, Wesker.
A- Tier: Akuma, Trish, BIONIKU AHHM!, Wolverine, Taxmaster, Ammaterasu, Felicia, Hawkeye, Phoenix, Nova, Frank West, Morrigan, Deadpool.
B+ Tier: Super Skrull, X-23, Saltinel, Rocket Raccoon, CHRIIISSS!, Haggar, Viewtiful Joe, Ryu, Captain America, Storm, MODOK, Nemesis, Dr Strange, Iron Fist, HULK!, Thor, Spider Man, She-Hulk, Chun-li.
B Tier: Ghost Rider, Arthur, Iron Man, Phoenix Wright.
C Tier: Hsien Ko, Tron.
Unsure tier: Jill (estimated B+ to A- tier), Shuma (estimated from C to B+ tier).
Having experienced a true MODOK player, I whole heartedly agree. Itās true when you say that his space control is outrageous. Against the MODOK player I play against, I use Wolverine, and itās an uphill fright from ready start. By the time we start, heās floated to a decent distance above me and has called drones, then proceeds to throw out balloon bomb and then sits back down and calls barrier, followed by more drones and constant barrage from psionic blasterā¦long story short I donāt have a chance to start my offence ever. Itās some of the most frustrating shit Iāve ever played against.
Just when I feel like I can get in on him when his shield is down, here comes drones again, and as Iām blocking, he throws out the goop and kicks me in the head for an unblockable and there I go, snapped out after a jamming bomb and then my next character is almost in the same situation immediately. That character is almost as good as lost when he comes in again.
In the air I find it very hard to contend with him when he has a terrific airthrow and a grand jump s that takes up all the space below him, and then heās gonna throw out a bunch of analyze cubes that will keep me blocking and away from him. Super jump divekick? Nope, his s.l head beam destroys it pretty good and then Iām in a while combo.
Just nonsense from the start of the round. God I hate this character lolā¦and yes, before you say Iām sorry for contributing to the circle jerk you warned about lol
One with Vajiraā¦the other Hidden Missiles, though I can tell thereās more just off the way these combos work. I think itās really important to have an assist that lets RR combo heavy off of a throw without burning meter like Vajira. Example: Throw, Dash OS assist > Cannon L~H > (Vajira hits) > Bear trap into whatever. With strider assist you can get underneath the character enough off of OS F+H into launcher to get a few reps of bolder loop without using up bear trap or log trap bounce to use later in the combo. This is also possible mid screen, though a lot of bolder trap stuff is character dependent and has to be modified accordingly. Iāll try to make a vid a post in the RR forums when I get a chance.
Would be awesome if you did post that in the RR forum, if you could/would. So I take it you actually run Raccoon without a beam/projectile assist then? Also I assume this 850k BnB involves the boulder loop? If not Iām also another extremely interested party haha.
Sits down, pulls down pants.
Thatās not the half of it, MODOK while having pretty practical touch of deaths with the right assists, has some amazing resets that make Weskers resets look inefficient. MODOKS d/f+H is highly underutilized and causes hit stun. One of my resets includes a ghetto semi-infinite with it in the corner in case you try to read my reset. I also have a option select throw with an analyze cube where if you tech the throw you hit the cube into full combo (timings hella tight tho). The biggest issue I have with MODOK at this point is my own execution fails me (just transitioned to fightstick, the sticks not the problem, itās that I canāt seem to remember where my buttons are all the time lol) Most of MODOKS good shit you wonāt see online generally even known MODOKS Iāve played against tend to keep it simple there.
Motempest you seem to play the same characters I do, I gotta check you out if I move to cali this year.
One last thing as far as MODOKāsā¦ahem, āpredictable offenseā, you guys always say Tasky is easy to block, yet how many of those same fucks get opened up by dash>c.m? Hey Iām not judging, I do too, but cāmon, letās get real, by and by aside from some of the very top players, people canāt block for shit, and especially against MODOK, whose little feetsies and one low will make you cry.
Now moving on: Deadpool. Underrated as hell, and only not picked because someone said that Quick Work>c.m follow up was hard. Prove me the fuck wrong.
Everyone has a plan until they get hit - Mirko Cro Cop
MODOK just kinda spits in the face of normal game mechanics. Start of the round OS? PAH. High durability projectiles? BAH. Jumping? BAH.
