Like Hazanshu? It would give her a quick overhead option at point blank :l:, half-screen , and full screen :h:.

lol no. Mirage Feint is already the fastest cross-up/teleport type move in the game. X-23 is fine the way she is.
That’d certainly do. I don’t know all of Chun’s moves by heart but yeah, that would probably do the trick, especially if is was fast enough and overheaded on the ground.
I’ve seen good X-23 play. She doesn’t need anything. Damage is high, speed is high, buttons aren’t tops but still pretty good, excellent LVL2 XFactor character and I mean REALLY good because of her LVL3 and her extended combos. Mirage feints are bad vs projectiles and she needs an assist to really approach, but both those things are minor enough not to subtract from her overall play. She’s fine as is and infact way better than a lot of people credit. I see her LVL3 alone causing her far more play in the future
Which is useless if you get hit with a projectile or normal try trying to use it no?
Feint isn’t an approach tool and shouldn’t be used as such. She has other ways of doing so and pretty safely, like multiple dive kicks.
yes but that is the point. the move isn’t meant to be a free way in. it is meant to be used as a mix-up tool once she has you locked down with an assist.
609,200 when fully mashed.
Felix says she sucks. Don’t know why but he mains her and claims he’s the best.
if chun-li gotta get buffs, she-hulk needs maor buffs.
She’s has all the problems Chun does, but with the added problem of more often then not she’s going to get hit on the ground which makes it easier to convert into killing her. Wolvie can do everything she can better and easier, so no, you wont be seeing more X-23 in her current form outside of character loyalty. Since Mirage Feint is not an attack, there’s no reason not to alter it. Zero has a similar move he can dash/buster out of to make it safe. There’s no way to make it safe for X-23 outside of an assist. Auto correcting moves are also a nightmare.
I see your point, but I’ll raise you this: Should characters be balanced around what they can do with assists, or what they can do by themselves? If the later, why does X-23 have the health she does when there are characters like Viper and Wolvie that can maul you effectively without assist and have more health. Her level 3 incoming mixup can be dealt with in a similar fashion to Viper/Firebrand but people don’t know that because of a lack of experience. She had great offensive tools, but she lacks an effective way to stop characters that can fall back on projectiles or priority which can turn her into a liability. I only proposed counters to her two biggest problem that wouldn’t be that much of a game changer. If that’s too much, give her 950 health so she has a chance to survive getting hit.
She-Hulk is still pretty damned good in Ultimate. If they wanted to buff her, which she doesn’t necessarily need, they could just give her the ability to rapid-fire her crouching :l: back while increasing the length of Torpedo’s slide.
She Hulk should be able to confirm off of Taskmaster-esque assists like she was able to in Vanilla.
True. She Hulk’s up close grab game and grab setups are really frightening, and jumping against her at close range is such a risk. Really, she’s just a grab monster, especially with her option selects and tagging out as a way to reduce scaling.
Morrigan is where she is because of Doom assist. Fillipino Champ’s Dorm keepaway is practically cemented by Doom assist. All teleporting ‘top tier’ characters + Magneto almost triple in effectiveness That is my response to the whole ‘assist’ thing.
X23 doesn’t need to be better. She is one of the many examples of characters where if they were significantly better in ways they aren’t now, it would potentially spoil the game. X23 can get virtually guaranteed kills on incoming characters. The character is balanced around the fact that she can do that. There are a lot of characters in this game that are made the same way. For example, Strider’s assist is very good. If the character on point was much stronger, let’s say dante-ish, you’d bring up a situation where there’s no logical reason to not pick Strider.
I used to have a lot of fun playing her in vanilla, but honestly the only way I think I’d use her (assuming she got old slide back) is if they re-buffed Akuma assist lol. Slide off that shit from full screen was awesome.
I’d also like to add that comparing X-23’s LVL3 to Firebrand/Viper is just dumb. Those guys have to charge for like, 3 seconds. X-23 has a jab on hand. She doesn’t rely on particular setups(though they help) and she can try again if she misses the first time. She can also vary her attack pattern enough that it can be a one in ten shot of escaping(or worse. much worse) depending on the player.
What is the way to deal with this incoming mixups? I don’t know about firebrand, but there is no way to deal with vipers incoming mixup other than not pushblocking and guessing right five times in a row in less than three seconds, if she has cold star. But seriously, i don’t even think that works against laura cause blocking is not an option. I’d really appreciate any answers to this, i played traumatisch a ton and i don’t have an answer to meaty talon dive L + dark hole assist against my incoming character. If he has three bars, i’m fuckin’ done.
nah, you can just jump or chill out a sj height and totally avoid all her mix-ups , and she can’t do anything while in the air. she is not good because all of her grounded grabs set-ups are easy to escape from on reaction. her normals suck except for cr.L and maybe st.M emerald cannon(l.v1 hyper) isn’t worth using anymore because it scales to shit.taking out the trash(anti-air hyper) is decent, while scaling any follow-up to shit. she -hulk has no gtfo options, the match-ups she dominated in vanilla now are not in her favor anymore and those characters that gave her serious trouble in vanilla got stronger plus the new characters have all the tools necessary to deal with her…most of her normals were adjusted coming from vanilla…if she had vanilla slide or some way to punish whiff normals i would consider her okay…but she doesn’t that that is why she will continue to be mediocre…
I’m still dabbling in how to deal with X-23, but my main sparring partner likes to attack to put me in blockstring without the assist. The only way I got out of it was X-Factor and grabbing, and that only rarely worked(Though I believe this is more about my own relative skill)
None of these are reasons for not buffing X-23
Your virtues are quite confounding. She doesn’t have any game changing assist nor are any off her assists effective outside of combo extension. By making her do what she’s designed to do effectively, you’d give people a reason to use her. In her current form she’d get beat out by tier alone even against a less skilled players. Even with the buffs I suggested, people would still pick Wolvie because Wolvie would still be the better character.
It’s not invincible so you counter it the same way you’d counter any untechable grab.
If you’re using a char that can air dash or teleport use it to get out of her range, then just hang out at SJ height until the super ends. If you have a meaty air attack or an attack you can get inbetween before the grab, you can hit her before she grabs you if you time it correctly, just keep an eye on her position. Other than that, get as close to the ground as you can.
