It’s interesting that I’m so superior that when I say “From what I understand”, I’m ‘ratting off facts’. If anything I said is incorrect, correct me. I used a lot of yours and gotnoskills posts when learning Viper, so I wont disregard you telling me I’m wrong, but I would like to know which parts are wrong instead of chastised for being wrong.
I watched him play Neo and whomever he played before Neo. You made an earlier post about how Firebrand can shut down teams in extreme cases, but that wasn’t the core of most of the matches. In the end he won by playing better, not by Firebrand shenanigans.
A perfect example would be Zak playing last night @CM4. When Sp00ky uploads them, we can do a head count of number of resets before a kill.
Um I did see all the Zak matches and very rarely he needed to do more than 2 resets to kill a character. Even when he got a touch off of Bon Voyage which scaled heavy, he did the combo, set up for a mix up, go the hit BnB into Flame -> DHC into Dorm Stalking Flare -> 2C1D -> Flame Carpet + assist -> Dark Hole with an extra Chaotic Flame IF the person is still alive. That is a shit ton of damage done and the reset allows him to build all that meter for the kill.
I don’t know if you want to debate who is a better player in between FChamp and Zak Bennet but there is no question about the fact that his Firebrand team completely mauled FChamp’s Phoenix team. The mix ups on entry and the way Firebrand evaded the Hidden Missiles allowed the character to pick apart FChamp’s team forcing him to switch.
Honestly speaking in this game it matters much more that you can easily get hits and mix people up especially on incoming than it is that you struggle to get one hit but you kill in that one hit.
I don’t know shit about Firebrand, but I can tell you he doesn’t do 200-300k per hit. That’s not how this game works. He’s gotta be able to do at least 450k with no meter.
I am pretty sure he caps out at around 400K meterless damage and with an assist you can probably squeeze it to be a bit more. The hyper does respectable damage to get him over the 600K mark. If he saves his meter he can easily do a million hit combo off of a reset.
If you do a reset you will probably build at 1.5-2 meter enough to kill an average character off a random confirm. You should be able to kill a character 1-2 reset. 1 reset will definitely kill average character, 2 resets will kill a high health character like She Hulk.
He can have buffs, but he is not low tier. He can open people up, he has solid mixups, good incoming mixups/guard break, good decent fireball, A good power up, and good mobility. His weakness is really damage, his health, stubby normals,no team synergy, cannot control space like Dorm or Vergil, and that’s it. He is far from bottom 10, this game is not at MVC2 levels to if Firebrand need buffs anyway.
When I personally get a hit with firebrand I don’t actually view getting good damage as my reward. My reward for landing the hit is that I get an opportunity for a set up and some meter to help me make further set up using a crossover combination (with ammy aka the marlinpie special) if you use a CC in the corner it’s a guaranteed unblockable with firebrand and a nearly unblockable mix up with just doom and ammy(there is a new trick that I have seen with this that makes the set up even more potent).
Most characters rewards for getting the hit is the opportunity to kill off one character, firebrand’s reward is to either kill or cripple your entire team.
Just popping in here to say sword normals are fucking stupid and make this game less fun as a whole. Vergil and Dante don’t need normals that beat everyone’s on top of all the other tools they already have.
Obviously they aren’t going to change that at all but they really should have their hitboxes nerfed or something.
Talking about Iron Man again because who cares about TAC infinites since they are getting patched out anyway, they should give Iron Man a new “homing bomb” move, where when you input air Smart Bombs you press S in addition to the ATK button and the Bombs home in on your opponent at the cost of more recovery time or something.
The move is called Smart Bombs and its just a projectile you dump on people, nothing smart about that.
Shuma: faster forward air dash
larger hitbox on all mystic smashes
more hitstun/blockstun for mystic stare and ray
faster startup on mystic ray assist (possibly as fast as the non-assist, heavy version)
new move(ish)- make devitalization also a projectile teleport counter. when a one hit projectile is absorbed, player presses l m or h and teleports (tracking, similar to dorms, stranges, etc) to a location based on the button press.
I’m a thor player, at the very least iwould like them to improve the recovery on his normals. I would also like to see a reduction on these ridiculous otg windows ex. doom, more to come lads. although i will say the game is sort of balanced which is a feat considering the vriety of characters, buff the low tiers.
