UMVC3 Patch/Balance Discussion *NO PATCH...but word is out of possible ALL CAPCOM VS game coming*

Wtf nerf a mid tier character? Leave him as is, hes still very very Undiscovered …

 1. I don’t think that Vanilla Zero was fine. I think that he was going to be one of several endgame teams (Zero/Tron/Phoenix).
 2. Other than her gettting nerfed significantly I don’t think people learned how to deal with Phoenix.
 3. I’ll keep coming back to TACs because they really are the only thing about this game that I really dislike but I see that mechanic as being a sort of tipping point as there really are only a few characters that can do truly stupid shit off of an exchange (far fewer than could DHC glitch) and when you have your “haves” and “have nots” the ability to do some meter positive TOD of a TAC is going to be a major plus for certain characters.

I don’t what what you’re trying to say here. Are you saying that it’s unfair that people can ToD if they TAC into specific characters? The act of TACing negates ToD because it’s a form of resetting so how is it unfair in any way?

Lest we forget that we now have a TAC infinite for Trish + other characters. We really gotta patch that junk out.

yes, now they HAVE to patch trish, and if they’re gonna patch trish, they might start thinking about patching other things. i’m scared.

In case no one has seen it, Magneto infinite :

Not as piss easy as Trish to set up but still works.

The infinites are a great discovery. It’s funny- they removed infinites from moves which can be looped i.e. Captain America’s hard air Shield Slash and Tron’s Bonne Strike, but then they didn’t cap the hit-stun on TACs and here we go. And they’re going to allow these at Evo? I’d love to see a Trish, Magneto and Doom team lol.

I’m laughing as people whine and want infinites patched out or disallowed, since they were in Marvel 2 and nobody had any problem with them.

Are you serious? One special move that puts him in the air, losing the ability to block and can only be cancelled by using X-factor or burning meter if anything goes wrong, needs to be fully charged in order to turn unblockable and backed up by very specific assists. Let’s also remember that he struggles to get over 380k - 420k dmg and has crap life.

If your team is getting destroyed by Firebrand’s loop it’s because that team was built around that specific strategy which is fair. Firebrand needs an assist to lock the enemy down and people still can’t figure out that in order to fight against that strategy you need to snap Firebrand out and get his assist.

**Kill the assist, that’s it. **
Firebrand is fine.

PS: Viper can dash cancel her unblockable, she gets hyper armor for free and can set it quite easily, she does major damage and she doesn’t need to be that specific about team building. I don’t like Viper at all, but after comparing those moves, I’m totally fine with Firebrand’s unblockable.

I hope they fix TAC’s by completely removing the HSD reset. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. You cater to casuals by putting stupid shit in your game and someone will eventually find a way to exploit it.

TACs reset hitstun decay?? no way… i was just trying a TAC combo into dante, and he couldn’t finish it.

Well if there was any doubt of a patch… I think these infinites will definitely increase the likelihood of getting one.

Why do you feel the need to voice your misinformed opinion on everything?

don’t have a cow, mr. duck!
i also thought that you were nice and knew what you were talking about, so i’m wrong all over the place, huh?

That doesn’t really do a lot to fix TAC’s in general though. People for a long time have just whined about the basic concept of it so until it’s flat out removed people are going to be salty about it.

Besides this is the game where people still won’t do this shit consistently for months any way and still stick with their basic stuff.

i found this explanation of TACs on the internet:

“TACs do not reset hitstun. They temporarily suspend the rules of HSD, as if your combos during it started with none and don’t add any, until you reach the ground. It’s still tallied in the background (i.e. eventually a Sentinel can’t combo RP into Plasma Dome). All exchanges will do this.”

that sounds a lot better. wouldn’t want anyone to be misinformed.

They don’t reset hitstun. They just ignore HSD until you hit the ground. Basically the post right above mine. Anybody can test this out instead of posting nonsense. Otherwise you could do combo -> TAC -> land -> OTG into full combo -> TAC -> etc.

Semantics, but yeah under normal circumstances, HSD after a TAC decay doesn’t apply until either the attacker or the defender touches the ground. The timer is still running though so as soon as the TAC portion of the combo ends, standard rules apply as if the combo had begun from the very first hit.

This is False. Firebrand is only unblockable on incoming. When he goes for resets, you have a chance to tech out of the setup which you’ll see if you watch Marvisto or Zak Bennet. In any case, killing Firebrand will destroy the team synergy.

The first statement is false, the bolded statements is just silly, and the final statement isn’t a relevant to the conclusion you came up with. Have fun safely canceling her Focus Attack without activating x factor, Viper’s ‘armor’ costs meter, and if it was easy as you claim she is, why isn’t she more common in tourney?

This is not a very nice thing to say after giving someone the wrong information.
