i would like to see haggar get some sort of armor on his moves to help him get in…thats about it
for thor, give him slightly faster ground normals, make mighty thunder usable (it’s such trash) and then give him a new move, hammer throw (for the love of god, why doesn’t he throw his hammer, that’s like his trademark, let him throw the fucking hammer for christs sake)
that’s it, no one else matters
I don’t mind the game as it is, but I may as well share my thoughts on what one of my faves should get. (In some sense I’m still new to this, so if I overlook something, please tell me.)
Considering Firebrand was supposed to be an aerial fighter yet has barely any aerial tech seems a little… Off. I feel that’s something that he should emphasize on as much as a character like Magneto.
What should get buffed:
Quick normal-canceling on Hell’s Elevator while active with air normals and can cancel from fireballs/Demon Missile L/M [Acts as a jump when normal-canceled and can apply to Hell Dive].
A double-jump for simple mix-ups, escaping snap-in traps more easily, full-screen jump-ins following up from Hell Dive M/H and furthering air combos after using a fireball to cancel from.
The use of Demon Missile in the air similar to the way the Red Arremer in his lvl 3 hyper combo makes use of them [H cannot be charged] and can be followed up by being locked in restricted flight which you could combo from. The range/active frames are also reduced.
A change in the properties of fireballs where he’ll stay in the air upon fire by holding the button used. Otherwise He’ll fall right after shooting it if you tap the button. They also provide more hitstun if the opponent is hit while in the air (This is a close reference to his mechanics from his own games.
And last but not least, faster flight start-up recovery. If he’s supposed to be an aerial character that does most of his damage in the air, then He should at least get good flight activation. Like Magneto’s, for example, this would lead to quick overheads while also increasing his ability to combo in the air.
Simple but popular:
Slight Damage buff with Hypers still scaled/lower scaling for higher output.
Health increase to 900k
Better recovery on his launcher
What should get nerfed:
The start-up on s.Bon Voyage is slightly nerfed by increasing a few frames
Demon Missile-H receives an active frame increase making it a bit slowler post-activation and timing more strict.
The range that Hell Dive M/H travel are slightly reduced.
One last thing. Just because he has an unblockable doesn’t mean He doesn’t deserve any buffs. There are capable characters like Viper who have unblockables and can still fight well without touching it. By resorting to them, that limits team choice by alot and demands that keeps him locked in one solitary position the entire match with a higher chance of life-loss. He should have his own way of being able to combo well in the air as an aerial character, while also gaining a few TAC bonuses and not just rely on one solid feature. So yes, In some sense he deserve the buffs.
Sorry if I’m quacking on too much. Also if there are any more ideas behind what to buff/nerf, be my guest.
Lol firebrand needs nerfs if anything. I think he should actually lose his unblockable move for a start.
It’s not even like Firebrand is a bad character. He has safe normals, decent mobility, mixups, a good power up, safe pressure, a decent projectile, guard breaks up the ass, etc. The only reason why people don’t think truly think Firebrand is good because of his damage output and he doesn’t give teams good synergy. Viper being good besides her unblockable would also ignore the fact that she is stupid too.
He might not be S tier, but I can’t see how people think he sucks.
Buff Firebrand isn’t going break the game, but it’s not he was ass in the first [place . That is the exact same thinking that they gave us Doom’s derpdive, Zero’s unnecessary buster cancel, Morrigan’s soul lockdown, etc.
Real shit outside a few things with Zero and Vergil this game is perfect. A lot of the stuff in here would not be good changes lol. Nerf Zero and figure out a way to nerf vergil without changing his playstyle and this game is golden
I wanna see more buffs than nerfs in this balance patch and I think that is a majority opinion.
The safest thing to do is adjust HP values. The more potential you got, the less you should have. I’m glad they nerfed Sentinel, because now when I see a Sentinel player, they’re more smarter on how to use him instead of just randomly throwing things out there knowing he can take a punishment or two.
Same thing with Phoenix (And I do like playing with Phoenix), her health is lower, but people have learned how to zone smarter and actually do combos with her instead of waiting for Dark Phoenix and spamming Lights.
Wesker can either go the HP route or just adjust some of his hitboxes. In comparison: Chun-Li, Wesker is harder, better, faster, stronger, and has a tool for every playstyle, whereas Chun is more rushdown with random (slow) kikokens to help her in her “ranged” game. Wesker outclasses her in every way except for femininity. Also PLEASE just add more recovery to gunshots, I thought chasing trap-laying and constantly airborne Trish was bad, but fighting a keepaway Wesker is darn near impossible unless you have a teleporter yourself (or someone fast like X-23).
And since they have their own specific timings, at least on Wesker, reduce his XF time: it stays on WAY too long.

Zero with 100k HP would still be top 3
lol no.
I am aware I’m exaggerating.
The point is HP values are a shitty way of balancing things.
… If you understand that it’s sarcasm…
The game is fine as it is. Just buff the low tier.
Nerfing Zero or Viper will just make somebody else be at the top now.
And Magneto can’t be nerfed.
Oh, and remove the TAC glitch were Zero, Morrigan, Spider-Man, and Chun can cancel a TAC into another TAC. No reason to make TACs even more stupid.
LOL @ someone saying to nerf Wesker.
And I’m cool with this game. I think Vergil and Zero should maybe have some sort of damage nerf. I mean if Vergil and Zero couldn’t TOD you they’d still be top tier.
Either that or make it where Vergil can still TOD you but his Swords don’t beat everything. I personally like that his Swords beat everything. It’s cool in the metagame. I just do not want him to TOD off of everything.
Question to a more knowledgeable player: Would making Spiral Swords scale more be a reasonable solution? And would removing soft knockdown from Raikousen be a reasonable solution?
Oh, and for funsies I want Trish’s Round Trip do have more durability
Not for balance, but for my personal gain.
You kill the LL with that and Vergil does more damage. I’m fine with Vergil doing like dante damage since there is no reason he should be a TOD character with the tools he has to shut down everyone. Nerf his damage and I’ll still play him. Also make his basic abcs do shit for damage. Its still way to easy to derp around and get 700k with an otg with him.
I said exactly this earlier, seems like it went over everybody’s head. That is such an insane attack, if it weren’t Soft Knockdown, Lightning Loops would be gone. How do they think Capcom is gonna respond to “remove Lightning Loops” anyways? That’s kind of beating around the bush about what you want, they have to say a specific part to change, lest Capcom do something radical and unnecessary. If they were to change Zero to remove Lightning Loops, I assume that’s what they would do anyways, but unless people specify there might be a repeat of Tron or She-Hulk and Zero could get nerfed all the way down to mid-tier or something. Also, imagine if Buster was still Hard Knockdown. shudders
Sark… Asm…
Hey man, wat dat?
Just make the scaling on Raikouzen something severe like Dante or something.
I am getting 980k no problem without Sougenmu involved. Make Zero the new Dante. I like working for my damage.
Extra scaling on swords could be ok but wouldn’t accomplish that much. If you made the damage on the swords like half of what is now that would do something.
You could also change the scaling of his specials down to 10% instead of 20%. A good chunk of his damage comes from round trip, judgement cut and lunar phase.
Even with that, he’d still have those moronic canned mixups and gigantic hit anywhere sword normals that the kiddies and mouth breathers are so fond of.
