I forgot why he stayed with Akuma in AE but he definitely learned Yun so he could learn the matchup.
I disagree, good and bad are very subjective and it doesn’t take much to change someones mind. Characters move around in tier lists all the time, every now and then some technology gets discovered which drastically boosts a low - tier characters status or someone comes along and shows what they’re truly capable of played right.
Then you need to factor in how well they know the match up, even if they know a match up against a low - tier I almost guarantee you there will be a higher tier character they know better because they’re played more.
I really should have picked a better day to walk to the store 20 minutes away, this is the first night in a long time to go below 20 degrees, it’s like 5 and there’s torrential rain outside. I can hardly move my fingers.

One of the pre SBO tier lists had Akuma as the overall best. But also had Ken crazy high so I don’t know who made it.
Tier position, as in climbing from a C rank to A, or being ranked 10th best as opposed to 12th.
You can’t make claims that good characters > bad characters as if the characters that are good and bad are set in stone, it’s all subjective, even if it’s based on hard and fast data such as frame knowledge. Even characters that are perceived bad, often make up for their shortcomings due to their opponent not being as familiar with them, so really it’s stupid to just pick based on a tier position, just play the characters you like.
