Pretty much what he said is that the people actually making the scenes (TO’s) usually aren’t even the ones saying that shit and its always the players who have little bearing on the situation at all.
It’s not like either side of that argument is necessarily false if you think about it.
Agreed
Marvel is big because of the characters in the game and because it’s from Capcom. Street Fighter is probably popular from it being Capcom and it’s pretty much the image of FG’s everywhere.
It just seems that game from Capcom have a huge head start because more FG players pretty much care only about games from Capcom. I mean look at sales form a game such as Blazblue compared to any FG from capcom. It’s such a big difference that the FG community for Capcom games have to do something but not as much as games that don’t have a big audience already such a KoF.
Basically people like Champ cant really say that scenes aren’t as big as Marvel/SF because the community doesn’t back it enough is just not comparable. SF/Marvel already have a huge head start compared to other FG’s outside of Capcom.
At least that’s how a new kid like me thinks
I think thats the point. They are talking about other games needing to build a scene when they didn’t exactly facilitate their own. It was given to them. SF/Marvel was already big before either of them so it is not like if a new IP was just coming out and then telling people to build a community from scratch. I don’t think people in cali/new york where comp is everywhere for everything realize how fucking hard it is to get people to get committed to playing a brand new game. Hell P4 and Kof is about the only new games to catch fire here. People played SC5, cross, and skullgirls for about two weeks
Well both sides of the coin have a valid point, but nonetheless it is an interesting subject.
I think like a lot of other competitive arenas, the guys on top become somewhat detached from the common guys, and once you get told your shit don’t stink for so long and egos swell, their views might get distorted.
I have no doubt that THEY believe they helped build their scenes by just showing up and playing. I don’t think reality is so kind…
…oh wassup OTT, btw.
Alright guys. KOF 13, UMvC3, P4A, or SSFAE
Which one should I get? I wanna get one that I would have the most fun in no matter what stupid shit gets thrown my way.
KoF 13 or P4A.
To be fair, what Jiyuna said doesn’t actually stop them from making a good point either. Let’s take the BB community for example and face it, the numbers spoke for themselves.
The P4A community seems to have gotten the message though, trying to get into MLG and all.
Of course people should try to build up their scene but to the way top players so dismissively say such things leads me to believe they are incredibly disillusioned with how difficult that can be.
This kind of reminds me when dudes got pissed at Perfect Legend for saying that he represents the MK Community when he doesn’t go to majors other than Evo or MLG.
Sometimes I don’t know why I even put up with Trish and Morrigan -_-
I should just go to Wesker/Sentinel
i’ve been flooding drawception with hsien-ko games
Hsien-Ko is not a real doctor
Here comes Hsien-Ko
Hsien-Ko hammer
Hsien-Ko will never make it to top games
Hsien-Ko cuts trees
Hsien-Ko and Powergirl fight crime
Hsien-Ko eats popcorn
Hsien-Ko shoots fireworks
leilei
Anki Hou
Henkyou Ki
For sure. There’s a pretty big gulf between people like them and, say, Alex Valle when it comes to actual, for-real scene-building.
As an aside, though: I can’t speak for other scenes, but around here it seems like the “Capcom” players are the only ones really willing to put forth effort in traveling out-of-state to play and putting in work to create streams and network with other scenes for the most part anyway.
Late, but there’s an assistant principal at my school named Windy Bottoms.
It must suck to have a name like that.

Good morning.
UMVC3, it’s the most fun game with the most fun training mode and most open gameplay/style with the most potential depth due to how the game works.
The problem is, it’s the stupidest game out of the 4, and the most salt inducing.
… man I really need to stop wasting time catching up to this thread ~__~
anyways…
I finally lost in a KoF tourney here, the dude that taught me SNK fighters waaay back (kofXI/SvChaos days) showed up after a super long ass hiatus and bopped me so i got second (eventhough I knocked him to losers, fucker came back in grand finals and took the whole thing) I’m kinda glad though coz now I have competition ^^
Plus I still won P4A and AE <_<
;__;
screw you guys, I’m just catching up and any posts I think is cool, i like it (hence the LIKE button)… it is pretty alarming that the like button is starting to glitch on me lol. Its like a 50/50 mixup now if it’ll work or i’ll get an unexpected error.
Then again that mixup applies to this stupid site in general not just the like button so idk >.>
Also Ryozo, Get KoF13 or P4A coz the other games are fuckin garbage.
Why?
It’s cool, I do the same thing. It’s just that you and the other members of the “Like Force” are more well-known for it.
KOF, although if you’re looking to play something online I’d go with P4A.
