I was watching Jiyuna stream and he made a good point about something. He brung up the fact that people like champ and jwong will say the reason that a scene isn’t as big as SF/Marvel is because the community is not committed to building it. He countered that they are full of shit since they didn’t build their scene at all and just showed up to play the games so they have no reason to even be speaking on the subject. I found it to be a pretty interesting take since, honestly its sort of true. thoughts?

if its one thing i hate myself is when people say shit like that without making any attempt to work on it at all. i understand they’re just players themselves when it boil down to it. acatullly u know what…i can’t really put the blame on them. lets also blame the people that take top player words as law too.
Though I also don’t agree with what they say - let’s face it folks, what work was put on SF and Marvel? The games grew up by themselves due to their brands. SFxT is the first Capcom game in the last years that the community is actually going to put effort on building itself.
That being said, saying they didn’t build their scene and just showed up to play is kind of wrong as well. I mean, they showed up, that alone helps build a scene. And being a 09er myself, I can’t really say what kind of work they put on older games.
