I’ve been watching a few ChrisG videos and don’t see the hate against his playstyle. Maybe it’s because I’m a noob but the amount of inputs he has to do looks like it would break my hand. And he also has to account for the enemy players movement and he just traps the hell out of them and does a good combo.
Idk maybe I just need to understand the game a little more or something

Persona 4 Arena officially broke my square button on my precious Hori VLX.
It wasn’t even due to auto combos. Fucking mashing mechanic of all out attacks. I was practicing the optimal BNB after a D follow-up (which requires full 16 hits of mashing).

Complaining about Morrigan/Doom is so 4 months ago. It’s all Vergil shock now. But you got to understand stream monsters and players that can’t adapt. When Chris G was first doing it no one knew what to do like at all people were jumping into fireballs, raw tagging into them and dying and randomly Xfactoring. it was pretty bad. Anytime Chris G got on and the other guy didn’t win in the first seconds or didn’t play Skrull I usually just changed tabs because the guy spent 2 mins losing.

No that’s perfectly fine. Chris G’s playstyle is amazing to watch, people call it autopilot or whatever but he plays really smart with really good awareness and execution, he stays mobile with his Morrigan and throws fireballs in great spots and calls assists/activates astral vision at the right times, it’s really fun to watch and I enjoy watching more mindful keepaway like this in a lot of fighters. The hate is unwarranted, need I remind that vanilla was a 100x worse with half of the matches in early pool play being Wolverine with XF1 ToDs from touch/throw/guard break into killing the next character. Personally, I’d take players who play excellent aware keepaway/zoning like FChamp and Chris G and Dieminion, over stupid ass characters going in ham mindlessly like Vergil/Wolverine/Seth/Viper. There is also a reason noone has been able to replicate Chris G’s Morri/Doom success, he’s just that good and can beat most of the east coast players including some of the best with his side teams.
Yeah I came up to get bodied at summer jam. But I’m hanging out with huoshen a few days before it.
I remember watching a Morrigan/Doom match in CEO pools and turning to my friend early on to say “Well, he just raw tagged into it. Let’s go watch something else because we know how this story’s gonna end.” Got some laughs out of the people standing around.
Chris G hate is kind of overstated. He doesn’t get outright booed that much anymore.
Chris G got booed at EVO when facing Chou and Champ but I guess that’s just WC hate. Also shoutouts to the old “Fuck Chris G” playlist on youtube
