Funny, today all of my online matches have been against Wesker or Wolverine led teams. I guess people are wanting to milk every last ounce of cheese while they can. :stuck_out_tongue:

did rhino charge invincibility really got reduced? the change log said it was increased which doesnt make sense since it was invincible from the start. either its a typo or they meant the start up time. heres hoping for the latter since an instant rhino charge would be sweet.

i’m not too worried about not being able to gun, forward teleport, combo. a naked gun into forward teleport seems really risky and that only works against air borne opponents. gun, call assist, teleport has the tendency to foul up the followup for most of the assist used. even with the nerf, you can probably still gun, call fast assist (iron man), teleport and still combo.

but what worries me the most is the tech time on his d/f gun which will affect most of his resets.

and last thing, am i reading it right? did wesker really get a speed and damage increase? :badboy:

  • Increased invincibility frame startup of Rhino Charge.

Unless there was a typo the way it’s written it sounds like it more describes that the invincibility frames have shifted so they don’t become active on frame one of the motion input like in Vanilla. It sounds more like you’ll be able to hit him before the first active frame of the counter. If the note had said “increased invincibility frames on rhino charge” that would make more sense.

Increasing invincibility frame START UP sounds more like they’re increasing the time it takes for the invincibility to kick in. Which would be a nerf. DECREASED invincibility frame start up would if you take it out of what I think would be proper English context would describe a buff. Considering the invincibility starts up before the super starts up…that would be illogical.

It’s not like it would really matter either way. XF3 nerf, gun port combo nerf and gun hit stun nerf are much bigger nerfs. Dante didn’t really lose his ability to do any combos off any of his most useful normals and will still do way more damage with DHC’s than Wesker on any successful hit. Wesker lost one of his go to OP combos from Vanilla off breaks and lost one of the things he was most notorious for which was scamming whole teams in XF while having 1.1 million health. Having gun port combo in Ultimate would have had me sure fire putting him in S tier in Ultimate but Capcom was thinking. He actually needs team synergy to get combos off ports now instead of fishing with gun.

I know lol, people are ridiculous. A character with the toolset Dante has can never be bad. Its just not possible. I would say the same thing even if it took like 2.5 combos to kill with him. the way he can fit into any area of a team in unparalled. So what he got nerfs. They remove him from top 3 in the game to maybe top 10. Be fucking deal, if you are good then you will still win with him. U.Dante being on the same level as say V.Felicia? GTFOH

Depending on how much invivncibilty RFF has he still might be better off overall though, if you can blaze through some dudes beam to punch him 35 times in the pancreas it will help.

Well the assist had to be nerfed because hard knockdown helped allow Wesker and Dante to run Vanilla with that assist (especially with Phoenix backing). Plus the game does not stop assists when you hit a point character so this had to be changed so face rolling on haggar assist before getting hit doesn’t shut offense down. He’s still going to be invincible for 60 frames after a measly 2 frames that you have to account for and you’ll still get a long ass soft knockdown hit confirm while they’re airborne. Still going to be one of the game’s most abused assists. This game is full of mix ups that you can’t deal with using human reactions for very long so Haggar takes care of that. He will just be a more calculated assist (if that’s even possible…).

My friend who uses She Hulk/Hulk/Haggar had no problem regularly confirming off the assist even without a way to OTG and all he’ll have to change up is not face rolling on the assist when I get in on him.

As for the RFF…it’ll just be another option to swing at the opponent if they try to punish your lariat. If it gets blocked you’re dead unless you have XF or put Haggar on point so you can safe DHC (ROFL…shouts to CheechWizard I respect it even though that shit is crazy).

I read that note as they added more invincible start up frames to Rhino Charge, which wouldn’t make it any less safe to just throw out with DHC back up, but would make it considerably harder to land on reaction to a lot of shit.

Bleh…guess we’ll need Max for this one. The way it’s worded though in other changes it usually means a nerf. Increased + frames in the same sentence usually accounts for nerf and decrease + frames usually means buff.
