**UPDATE (5:24AM EST 11/16/11): I have confirmed that Doom’s OS air dash throw in the db or df directions has been nerfed. Tested on both Vanilla and Ultimate and Doom will OS air dash/throw perfectly in Vanilla but in Ultimate he will shoot out j.H heavy gun now instead of air dashing. Which kills your ability to move forward and air throw at the same time. **

UPDATE (8:56PM EST 11/10/11): Update with link to changes Nini Heart found with Dante in UMVC3. Also the 1st Capcom change log video by Max.

UPDATE (2:43PM EST 11/10/11): update with link to youtube channel that shows off how hit stun deterioration changes affect some of the old cast (X-23 and Akuma are up now).

**11/8/11: Updated with Marvel hyper mash comparison. **

11/7/11: Updated recent changes log with info on Hulk’s s.H

**11/6/11: Updated with 4th cast change log video. **

11/5/11: Updated with 3rd cast change log video. Updated with changes from Portugal play test. Made changes to notes about raw tags and more info on TAC’s.

**10/28/11: Updated with 2nd cast change log video. **

10/27/11: Updated with 1st cast change log video. Updated with official translated changes for Capcom characters.

**10/21/11: Updated with gameplay change centered assist me video and updated recent changes section with information on Wesker’s health. Updated with event hubs link of Japanese changes. **

** There’s now also a discrepancy between information on Sentinel’s changes. **One log says Sentinel has armor on his air normals and the other replaces that with another note that says his s.S has been nerfed to super armor (from hyper armor). EDIT: Just got word in that it was probably just a translation issue and both sites have just the s.S nerf. No air normals with armor.

I haven’t seen a thread yet for this so I figured I’ll put this out there so people can clearly see and discuss all of the changes between the general gameplay and characters.

NOTE: There are some things that were found during play testing for characters that are not listed in official notes yet. Some extra notes not listed in any of the above links will be listed as they come in below.

Recent changes/confirms/disconfirms/challenges (updated October 21st):

  • Morrigan meter steal fireball durability note has been removed from the log.

  • Zero is confirmed by NeoGAF OP (original poster) to have 825k health.

  • Shinquickman has disconfirmed/challenged some notes on Modok. Does not have air version of S Psionic Blaster. A move that drains meter has supposedly not been confirmed.

  • EDIT: Portugal test has confirmed that raw tags still hit overhead. Originally it was said that raw tags no longer hit overhead.

  • Added link up top that describes changes to overall game mechanics. Couple big changes are any character with 8 way flight have slower backdashes if they backdash in the down/back direction and you can no longer block while air dashing. The second is most likely to limit air dash runaway.

  • Dr.Doom can now attack during backwards air dash.

  • EDIT: Wesker has been confirmed by official change log to have 1,000,000 health (only went down 100k as opposed to reported 200k nerf). Assist me video had originally confirmed that Wesker has around/nearly 900k health.

  • Sentinel got nerf to his s.S launcher (super armor instead of hyper).

  • The color codings for TAC’s are just for visual purposes. No extra escape for TAC’s. Supposedly the window to get out of TAC’s is larger but not necessarily confirmed.

  • Hulk’s s.H does not have 3 points of armor as rumored. The one hit of armor from Vanilla stays in Ultimate.

**Notes on game features: **

There wasn’t a thread like this around because the first one got deleted (quite unjustly I must say).

One thing about that change list on GAF: We’ve really seen nothing to show that Morrigan’s Soul Fist S has any more durability than a normal Soul Fist. That conjecture came from the preview trailer where she beat out a Molecular Shield H with it just after the rocks were fired off. Molecular Shield H only fires 4 rocks at one durability each, all Soul Fists have always had 5 durability.

Hopefully this one gets to stay up.

Yeah there’s a lot of iffy things in at all. Like I’ve heard from someone that Zero’s health went down to 750k but the neogaf report says he went up to 825. Really liking the small buffs for X-23. Should help her with her damage output and ability to get in and scare people with her invincible supers. Dante hammer nerf not a big deal. Just means you’ll have use it more so for mix ups than a move that does 45 things at once. Long as it isn’t impossibly hard to use in combos I’ll be fine. He still has everything he needs to be a top tier character especially with buffed Devil Trigger. Doom buffs are super awesome jawsome of course.

I’m not arguing against DevilJin to have the awesome post #1 powers though.
At least it will be updated properly.

And since a SRK star is starting the thread, the likelihood of this thread getting randomly deleted goes down 90%. So I’m all for it. I just wish my posts in the old “changes” thread didn’t get lost in the internet void. I took 3 hrs straight looking through a bunch of match vids just to catalogue changes :frowning:

shaking my head at those Zero Buffs

Dahbomb, the creator of the above changelog, has requested that I relay the below message on his behalf. He does not have an SRK account.

Tell Dahbomb I said good look up the updates.

Well I’m just glad he won’t be able to TOD people in one combo anymore. He’s still going to be a stupid character but I guess with that low health you kinda have to have as much retarded shit as possible to cover the fact that you might get hit. I didn’t really understand how Zero was capable of all he was but only had 30k less health than X-23 or 70 to 80k less than Felicia. X-23’s ability to tear down teams with assist + dirt nap and her powered up normals with MFC’s is starting to more so justify her health but man Zero needed like 600k health in Vanilla. LOL.

@Dahbomb: Just want to point out some things about MODOK.

  1. An air version of S Psionic Blaster has been DISCONFIRMED
  2. A move that drains meter is still unconfirmed
  1. Fuck Zero
  2. Do rawtags still hit overhead? I couldnt find anything on that.
  1. Pretty sure Seth said “No” and there should be videos around showing people blocking it crouched.

I see no reason for that to not still happen. His BnB still works from what we’ve seen. The only ToD things they removed were DHC glitch and his Lightning Loop. HIs BnB still does a good 800K pre-DHC. And with health nerfs to characters like Wesker, I see no reason for that Zero silly damage to still be going on. What does suck though is not being able to transition random Buster level 3’s into ToDs without X-Factor though.

That doesn’t suck when you realize a super fast half screen projectile is going to flatten you and TOD you for no reason at all. j.H/airgrab or charged buster mix up into TOD is hella busted also. It’s like if Dormammu could super cancel his normals into chaotic flame as long as he has a “charge” and it would instantly convert into TOD’s after.

If he can TOD X-23…ok fine she has no health any way. TODing Hulk with 2 meters is stupid and needs to go. Plus we still need to see what has been done to HSD with assists to see if the same stuff Zero can do in Vanilla that reaches the 700 to 800k mark still exists.

Well I meant “sucks” for me because I main Zero lol. For non-Zero players that’s probably a godsend. And yeah Lightning Loop was busted. There was no reason for something like that to be in the game. I can admit that much.

st.L is smaller D:

Well, had to happen sooner or later. Gonna look weird when the pointy end of Dante’s swords doesn’t actually cut anything anymore.

Raw-tags not hitting overhead. Is this real life?

I think they said the vertical hit box on his s.L was nerfed. It was a ridiculously strong AA that braindead hit confirm into 500+k combos or more easily. Knowing Marvel they probably won’t cut the horizontal range of the move. In this game everything hits just as far or farther than it looks. Unlike SFIV where everything hits usually shorter than it looks. I’m sure the horizontal range will be the same annoyance.

Oh, excellent.

Looking forward to the new Magneto. He had a lot of cheap scrubby stuff that overshadowed what I feel were his real tools; the ones Capcom intended for us to use.It encouraged people who clearly had no business using him to pick him up for tournament play.Talking about the people who can still only do flight combos.

I just hope he can compete with the new Doom…
