I think LL.ND did some combos involving tag-ins a few months back, though I don’t remember when. I’m sure others have done it, too.
With his new Gravity moves, I’m fairly sure Magneto will do fine. Can you block those?
Are there many instances of that in this game? I’m ignorant to this kind of thing, though I do know Hsien-Ko’s command grab animation doesn’t always match up to the animation (claws go through the opponent when it whiffs).
You don’t necessarily get hit/block the gravitational moves from Magneto. They just have a set start up and then push you away, pull you forward or bring you to the ground no matter where you are on the screen or what you’re doing (with some exceptions). They only pull you maybe a 1/5th across the screen then he has to recover a bit before doing it again. You can still attack during the gravitation so he has to be careful about pulling you in when you’re doing an attack/super etc. The gravitation is also negated by wave dashes so if the opponent is on the ground wave dashing he’ll do the gravitation animation but wont actually be able to affect your gravity. Then you can just run in and hit him when he’s vulnerable.
I’m sure a smart combination of his projectiles and the gravitation will prove rather annoying though.
Storm’s wind pull/push is much stronger than Magneto’s gravitation, being able to pull you forward or backward as far as what looks like both ends of the screen. The issue is that it has more recovery to compensate and most likely still loses to wave dashing.
His flight combos are his best. His ROM is too inconsistent for me to use it as my BnB.
Similar damage + universal + much easier execution = better combo. Only thing ROM does better than your generic fly combo is meter building and damn near corner to corner carry (modify your fly combo and you can easily corner to corner as well).
Learn your character before you start popping off on others who use him.
Personal note: I don’t recall Seth mentioning MODOK’s meter drain. I thought that claim came from a random article, and the source was a Marvel guy.

Possibly. All I’ve heard so far is that wave dashes kill the gravitation.
I wish they nerfed raw tags by making them actually have startup time instead.
Yeah raw tags still gonna be safe as fuck from a range. Least you won’t get mixed up into a combo anymore. I guess it’s just that way so average players dont have to worry about losing their characters too fast.
I don’t need to learn my character, because I can do ROM with 90%+ success rate in matches. It does more damage,and it starts the grav loop farther away from the corner than flight can. You know what that equates to? A completely superior combo.Easier execution is irrelevant , even if it was the combo isn’t that hard. I’m as casual and as green as they come and I can do it.
You seemed like a respectable poster, up until you tried to justify your lack of execution with false points about the character. Sorry bro, rom isn’t that hard. You can even replace one upward rep, anytime during the combo, with a medium to make up for any bad timing you have and pop them up higher so you can continue it.
Just ignore how I said flight combos do similar damage and can easily start the hypergrav combo from corner to corner. I can do the ROM but to me, the inconsistency just isn’t worth it.

i really think that was the original thought. new people would try to save characters by hard tagging, so they made them overheads to help them get in more safely. That is the problem though, making something like that safer than it should be by making it overhead. At least now I’ll be able to bait/react, combo the shit out of them, snap back in the other character.
Only with the help of your otg assist. For those of us that don’t use one, we do the harder stuff, but get rewarded with an extra assist that might actually help our point rather than cover up our weak execution. Inb4 unblockables. Don’t make me laugh.
Oo, the list says that Arthur’s health is now 850k, is this confirmed? What happened to that “at least 900k” that we were hearing these days?

@kidgogeta: you’re gonna wanna use an OTG assist if you can since, y’know, ROM isn’t possible anymore in Ultimate. assuming fly and hyper grav are Mags’ only remaining loops… yeah. so much for that 90% ROM success rate, huh. lol. Ultimate Mags should be more about using those gravity moves instead of being a karate man and curbstomping people in the air anyways.
I’m well aware of that. Doesn’t change the fact that currently nobody should be doing flight mode combos. Or if you do it, please have some shame and don’t do it on stream where people expect clean play and have to watch you doing week 1 shit. The changes to Magneto make me 100% a happy panda, if only because 99% of East Coast will drop him. Props to you, Marlin Pie.

I incorporate the fly loop with an OTG assist in my midscreen BnB, does that make my Magneto ass? that’s his safest and most reliable loop, and an easy transition into grav loop midscreen if you unfly. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing considering fly and grav loops are all Mags has in Ultimate in terms of his staple combos. I’ve already started to get used to jH adf jM xx fly and dropped the habit of doing ROM entirely.
on topic, did anyone notice any more changes to Iron Man? what about his air dash?
All you Magneto players are scrubs. You should be doing Alioune’s Magnetic Blast combos.
^I do, lol. I have to think about it in advance though, otherwise my hand goes directly to fly loop since it’s pretty much impossible to drop with my current level of execution. besides, too many reps the Magnetic Blast isn’t good for the hitstun.
I’m not calling anyone ass. I just don’t like that BS that was thrown out that flight combo is currently comparable to rom. One completely removes the need for an otg assist. That mean’s I can toss Wolverine on my team instead of Wesker, all because of a change in combo, and that’s not a big deal?
All in all it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to do Rom and you can enjoy Magneto with the rest of us in Ultimate, and I don’t have to see any more scrubnetos on my stream because hes not cheap anymore . We all win!
