Ultra Street Fighter 4 | General Lounge

It’s pretty much confirmed Drive in At Night causes a frame or two of lag I believe.

I would have to say cruise ship stern does as well, I mess up on that stage evry fukin tiem

So… two ultras confirmed? I hadn’t heard such details about Dhalsim either but I haven’t really been keeping up since the game was announced.

In my unimportant opinion, these are the stages with the most lag.

  • Crumbling laboratory
  • Volcanic Rim
  • Drive in at the night
  • Exciting street scene
  • Africa Solar Eclipse
    -Cruise Ship Stern
Everywhere else is fine, but Training Stage is godlike, so why play anywhere else?

I wonder how all the new SfxT stages are gonna be when it comes to frame rate drops.

  1. Any changes currently occurring are being TESTED they may not make it into the final version of SF4. There is nothing “confirmed” at the moment. The fact people keep acting like any change currently in place is going to make it through to the final version of the game is one of the reasons Capcom has been so quiet in terms of official statements on the builds being tested.

  2. NOTHING FChamp has stated has been verified as being in any build at the moment. It hasn’t been disproved nor has it been proven. I’d take everything he says as ‘rumors’ until otherwise corroborated.

By lag do you mean input lag or framerate drop/stutters ? The PC version might not have those frame drops with good enough hardware.

Solar eclipse seems like a breath of fresh air compared to the nonsense of those others. I also like the Africa air base.

All this time I thought people picked training stage because thats where we practice spacing, with training mode squares, etc.

I wonder how they will handle the PC version and if they’e finally going to stop using GFWL.

The Africa stage doesnt have much lag along with cruise ship. The other stages like crumbling lab and volcanic rim are the forbidden stages. I think 2 of the SfxT stages are forbidden stages too… We do have a new stage to use other than training mode and its the space stage.

probably steam is just gonna adopt the gfwl key library so you can use yours to activate it on steam.

I always wondered the role environments and effects play in framerate drops.
makes me really cringe at the thought of next gen fighters.
sure prettier graphics, more moves/animations are fun and grand - but if internet connections don’t improve, the greatest net code won’t get you shit but a slide show.

Internet in America is ass. Everywhere else it 5x better

since the netcode is (usually) independent from the rendering process, better graphics shouldn’t worsen the mulitplayer experience. the assumption alone is kinda weird cuz it would imply that since the beginning of online gaming the network performance in multiplayer games should have become more and more crap because of better graphics.
if it’s some frame-based netcode the only importance is the fps synchronicity between the clients, but that shouldn’t be a problem on standardized consoles.

Not feeling this 2 ultra same time mechanic, hope it’s just a rumor. Seems way too risky of a change on a fairly balanced game. It is gonna break more things than fix and then we’ll need a 2015 patch

So you guys went from trusting the yaoi cat avatar guy to trusting filipino champ. Both of whom had no evidence, but at least the yaoi cat guy made more sense with his obscure song reference.

How can you take away Seth’s wall jump, Shoryukens, and nerf his ultra 2? Meanwhile they gave Cammy her TKCS if not a lower height limit on her regular strike. How is that balanced? That doesn’t even make sense to take away is wall jump. OUT OF ALL THINGS. Not is dive kick hitbox, not his EZ corner divekick mixups and not his stun, but his wall jump. That is the most trivial thing about Seth next to his fireball. Not one thing different about his walkspeed or his footsie tools; just nerfs. =|

And the 2 ultras thing. smh Ok we noticed no one used the second Ultra so we gave you both without thinking of the consequences! That way gief and hawk can be ridiculous. Rose will punish you for anything including jumping. Seth can continue to not give a damn, and Akuma’s teleport game is now by extension better. If you fail to punish a tele you get raging demon’d and if you fail to punish you get demon Armageddon. And on wakeup he can wrath of the raging demon you! Oh and Ryu can uhh…Just use Ultra 1 still. Makoto can always press qcfx2 and depending on the situation she gets out free! Hey Blanka with our shitty shortcuts good luck using your ultra 2 as an AA. Vega? Same thing Fuck you!

In fact wtf are they going to do at the ultra selection screen? What about the matchup changing aspects that Ultras provide?

I understand that speculation at this point is all anyone has, but c’mon at least make it reasonable and not silly like Guile Wake up boom and air Sonic boom. =|

>How can you nerf Seth

I imagine all it takes is a few keystrokes In the right places~

I don’t have any problem whatsoever with 2 playable ultras.
as a Juri mainer, nothing is worse than picking U2 and finding out my opponent will be Guile.
some Ultras are useless against some characters. and not everyone is willing to wait 29 seconds to see which character is going to be their opponent before finally choosing their ultra.

You guys are bitching just coz its new to you and hate change.

SF4 sucks anyway…its always sucked. so who fucking cares if 2 ultras at your disposal are now an option.

I laughed at this and I get that this is a joke, but it’s not the fact that he is being nerfed. It’s the veracity of what is being nerfed. The most trivial aspect of the character itself. What I find silly and what I’m criticizing is the fact that people are willing to believe what filipinochamp says without any proof.

-If it sucks then why do you play it? I seriously don’t understand the reasoning behind this.

-It’s not that it’s the fact that I hate change. It’s the fact that it’s a blatantly stupid idea that would mess up so many matchups and mechanics. For example Blanka ultra 1 and 2 commands being almost identical besides the up at the end which can easily be activated with the crappiness of this games’ lenient inputs.

  • Dude Juri’s Ultra 2 is not useless wtf are you going on about? If someone jumps at you you can j.MP ultra 2 or even focus Ultra 2…In fact isn’t ultra 1 almost universally better aside from a few matchups why are you picking ultra 2 anyways?

Then why not pick your character, then wait to see who your opponent has picked before you choose your Ultra? That’s what I always do…

The wall jump is actually one of the most powerful moves for Seth. It’s not trivial at ALL. Losing his wall jump makes it much easier to keep him trapped in the corner. It also makes it much easier to zone him (being able to wall jump in for free any time you throw a fireball is one of the reasons it’s so hard to zone Seth) it massively reduces his mid screen Oki options as wall jump to continue pressure after a spin kick is his main way of continuing to pressure, without that he has to teleport (leaves him at negative if you quick rise so he can’t really pressure too well) or dash up (you quick rise before he gets close enough to pressure, he only has time for 2 dashes but needs 3. If he does a 3rd dash then he is mid dash when you get up and will eat any reversal)

Losing his wall jump is a pretty major change to how to fight Seth and how Seth fights you mid screen especially.
