I bet Akuma drops straight down after throwing an air FB now. Adon can’t just press rh at mid range anymore (yay), Poison and Elena being ass isn’t surprising to me in the least, Daigo switching to Rolento is a bit worrying (last time he switched it was to the clear no1 character in the game)…
Adon’s far HK not being 2 hit is kind of stupid IMO. They should have just adusted the recovery time IMO. This change makes his farHK -1F on hit -5F on block and it builds less meter and doesn’t break armor. I mean, it wont destroy him by any means as long as his grounded jaguar kicks are still safe on block and break armor but it certainly makes his footsies a lot weaker and makes him even more reliant on jag kicks.
If it was up to me, I’d have changed it from 9F startup 24F active 17F recovery to 9F startup 22F active 20F recovery. End result means he is 0F on hit -4F on block, still breaks armor but the move is more whiff punishable as it doesn’t hang out there for 6F anymore. That and changing the damage distribution from 4080 to 6060 would make it so that he gets less damage when he breaks armor (as armor breaking is a counter hit on the 2nd part of the attack this would mean he gets 60+75 (135) on an armor break instead of 40+100 (140) not a BIG dif but it is a dif.
Yeah I agree, every time I was messing around with changes, I always just changed damage distribution and slightly nerfed meter gain. I guess it’s fair though, he really didn’t need another safe way to break armor.
Taking “Not Punisheable on hit” as -2 (this is rather generous) and assuming nothing but the recovery changes, that’d make meaty(or well spaced) slides +5 and +8 on hit, respectively. Uh… yay?
My personal guess is that it has a higher height restriction. That way Akuma players can’t jump back and chuck fireballs very low to the ground to stop their opponents approach.
Yeah and I have to agree, if anything Yun was A+, Fei Long S, and Yang A but seemed like he had lots of potential to rise. But Yun was played more just cause he had Genejin, which was not only an insanely good super but a badass move that Yang did not have. As dumb as that sounds I truly think that played a factor for players choosing which twin they we’re going to play, I mean Genejin is stylin… Yun. just looks cooler too. Yep Yang definitely needed to be explored more and if Yun did not have genejin… well yeah…
I’ve seen both claims for Fei and Yang being the strongest character. Yun seemed more of a US thing, … americans love their derp :X
Even if Yun was the strongest, it was not “clear”, that was all I wanted to say.
I was gonna pick up Rolento no matter what but seeing Daigo is switching to him apparently, it can only be good news. Also I want poor Sagat to get fixed up with some serious buffs ffs, whenever I fight him I can only think to myself ‘shit man why is this guy so free hes supposed to be the KING and not some peasant in a toupée’ I wouldnt even mind if he got his DP trade to u1 600 damage back
Also tkcs -5 on block thank god if its true, free dp/spd time, I can already hear the masses of Cammy players cry over how weak she is and shit lol
Yang’s super was just as, if not more broken than Yun’s . You could use it to combo into full ultra, force devastating mixups, do cr.mp or palm loops, or just do a lot of chip. Yang also had the ridiculous j.mk hitbox that was super ambiguous, 3F st.lk that could punish a lot of moves because of it’s range, safe FADCable reversal, very fast and projectile invincible full screen meterless move in hk roll kick, easy safe hit confirms that did decent damage, a pretty good divekick, command dash to further help bait and mixups, throw invincible EX command grab that you could combo off of, U2 that startup so fast you could do palm fadc U2. He would have definitely been the best character in the game given the time.
It’s gonna be a trip going to YouTube when I’m bored and feel like watching Daigo gameplay. Instead of typing in " Daigo ryu" and getting a bunch of search results, it will be " Daigo Rolento" o_O
Sounds like the Ultra era is going to be interesting. I personally liked the Daigo Yun during AE era._.
One thing is for sure about Hugo now that I think about it: they are going to HAVE to change his standing/crouching HK and crouching HP A LOT. They have to be safer and they have to break armor otherwise they are going to never EVER be useful.
The current frame data in SFxT should explain why:
sHK = 23F startup 9F active 33F recovery +1F on hit -22F on block
crHK = 13F startup 14F active 56F recover hard knockdown on hit -50F on block
crHP = 15F startup 5F active 60F recovery float on hit -45F on block
Not only are they all massively unsafe and slow to startup making them useless in SF4 where he wont have the boost chain combos so he can combo into them to make sure they hit. But they are also all 1hit moves.
His cr.HK or cr.HP have so much recovery that an opponent could get a full level 3 focus crumple on him after absorbing the hit.
I’m just happy that I’m finally going to be able to play my main in sf4(Elena) and will main her even if she is trash. Would be awesome if her super is her heal from 3s.
