It’s Dan’s father. The model and moveset will be based on Dan himself. That way Capcom can still reuse old assets and the fans get there new character. I can’t imagine Capcom making a brand new character.
I think the guy above me has the right idea. I personally don’t think the 5th character is Dan’s father, but if you think about game development and Capcom’s character choices since AE, something like that makes the most sense.

I would in all honesty rather have them add in Gunloc, Tom, or Karate Clown than Go, Goutetsu, Gouken’s daughter, or some character that is related to another god damn shoto. At least Karate Clown would be funny, Gunloc would be nostalgic and potentially awesome, and Tom would essentially be like Alex’s version of Charlie. I don’t want anymore of this retcon, shoto fest that SF4 already is.

I hope Capcom did something with old design that was supposed to be Rufus and put him in USF4. Have him like Kareem Abdul Jabbar from bruce lee’s game of death or make him into a unique style brawler. No thanks. At least not for skin colors like SFxT. “Everyone” picked troll colors. Clothes/hair color with “normal” colors could work out. Still think people would use silly stuff like pink chest hair on zangief, or all green blanka.
Regarding Championship Mode… In vanilla it split the player base between player match, ranked and champ mode. So it became harder to find a match.
Also the championship points were 100% useless, as you always gained more than you lost. Id rather have new trials, select-able training stage or/and online training mode.
Customization would be fine if they give the option to disable viewing other players customization online. People can have their troll colors but you just don’t have to see them if you don’t want to.
I do think I’d MUCH rather have them massively expand the training mode. Hitbox viewing, frame data viewer, ability to tell the training dummy to perform an action as a reversal.
Copy/Paste Skullgirls training mode! (A copy/paste everyone could get behind).
So if the character is highly related to Street Fighter then it must be either Goutetsu, Go Hibiki (probably the least likely of the candidates) or Dorai because they all have a story line that leads straight to Street Fighter and none of them have been playable yet. I’m hoping it’s Dorai since he could be interesting. A footsie heavy character with a move-set close to Gen or Chun-li. Possibly even the twins.
Goutetsu would be okay if they make him clearly different from the other shotos. At least there is a good chance of that if you compare his two pupils and their tool-sets. If Go Hibiki makes it into the game I hope they make him the opposite of Dan. Maybe similar moves but a more formidable fighter since that was what he was supposed to be.
If they bring Goutetsu or Go Hibiki, i kinda imagine they will copy-paste some animations from SFxT characters. Heihachi comes to mind
Maybe my prayers will be answered and the character will be Shin Dan. He will be as powerful as Orochi Shermie( Not very strong).

Well it wont be another shoto and Capcom are already porting 4 characters from SFxT. The 5th character will have an original look and animations. So some of you guys really need to drop this crap.
