Ultra srk tech talk awards (2014)

I see both of your points.

My issue seeing a new member with his or her first post being on this thread is I can see how someone can create new accounts just to bump a vote.

of course they can, but… I’d love to have some faith in humanity. I’m going with believe this is someone who wants to become engaged. Hey it’s Christmas

I fine with new people voting.

That is, unless we suddenly get an influx of new voters who are obviously there to bump one or two nominees… If that happens, then I will step in to DQ said voters.

I think minimum one year sign up should be applied. Otherwise you may aswell have one of those polls so anyone/everyone can vote. Besides, if you haven’t been signed up for at least a year to SRK how else would you know about all of the potential nominations of 2014. Creating accounts just to upvote will simply ruin the fun of it all.

I agree with the above!

Post count isn’t a requirement, we all know people that lurk.

Make an account! (I see you lurkers that don’t have accounts yet)! At least that way you can contribute someway!

While I’ve not been active enough this year to comment on individual members, I have kept up with the tech stuff and have some opinions on that stuff! I agree with frank that a category for best custom stick builder would get won by b15 be default and that we should rename the award to “B15 Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year”. As such my vote for best custom stick/builder will go to the best non-b15 stuff.

2014 Arcade Stick(Non-Custom) of the Year - Panzer
2014 Arcade Stick Mod of the Year - Strawberry3s HRAPv3
2014 Tech Talk Company of the Year - UD Game tech
2014 Custom Arcade Stick of the Year - bazdc2 - rose stick
2014 Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year - Foe Hammer
2014 Tech Talk Accessory of the Year (PCBs, Parts, Bags, etc.) - UD-USB Decoder, I’ve used mine to run tons of tournaments. utterly fantastic bit of kit, can’t wait to buy more!

Just wanted to remind everyone that the period for nominating things ends on the new year. After that, we have a week or so just for voting.

I’ll get my entries/votes in tonight. I have a lot to say (I’m kidding).

I forgot to post. Oh well. Haha. Good luck everyone!

No more nominations from this point all. Voting ends on Wednesday, January 7.

I did the same, feel like a dick.

Then again everyone picked what I would have wanted to nominate anyway so we’re still good, lol.

MC TE2 (USF4/GGXRD). Improvements that made the best stick, better.

**2014 Tech Talk Company of the Year**

Paradise Arcade. Always innovating.

** 2014 Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year**

@b15sdm‌. Building Bugatti Fight Sticks time and time again. I am always in awe every time a new design comes out.

If this wins, do I get a free LVT3?

I wanted to nominate Arcade Shock, as they’ve brought in the kind of innovation on the licensed side, that hasn’t been seen in awhile (Street Fighter buttons, Guilty Gear buttons etc.). I know it’s too late for the nomination period, so my bad :frowning:

I’m excited to express my votes and reasoning though. Thanks SRK Tech Talk for being awesome. I don’t post or read as much as I used to, but I always know this place is in good hands.

Thanks for the nomination Mark. The guys that create in house Paradise, Jason’s Customs will always deserve the most credit as it’s their direct sweat and blood. We’ll do whatever we can to make things more interesting though. 2015 is going to be interesting. Can’t wait for all the near gear coming out.

I could make an exception for this if people are ok with it. I mean, Arcade Shock has been doing some great things this past year.

I think that AS is doing great things, and this year’s awards have been more like a group hug than anything else. But I think letting things slide in one place opens potential other issues. However, I will step aside if people feel otherwise. I am very glad Mark brought AS into the discussion, they do deserve respect and recognition for what they have done and are doing. Sorry, phone post, we lost power.
