Anything released from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014 is eligible. Stuff released earlier (e.g. Phreak’s the Link) is ineligible. Nomination period ends on January 1, 2015 after which we’ll have up until January 7, 2015 for additional voting. Only one nomination per category is allowed and each nomination also counts as a vote.

Winners gain the right to use the SRK Tech Talk Gold Badge (aka bragging rights). If anyone wants to donate stuff for prizes, we’re open to that as well.

EDIT: When making changes, please make a new post about it that lists the changes. This makes it easier for me to track them.

*The SRK Tech Talk Awards are a community driven effort by the fans for the fans and is no way an official award released by Shoryuken.com or SRKX Productions LLC.

@deserada

Just a reminder, you guys have until 11:59 PM Hawaii time tomorrow to vote.

Since nominations count as votes, I’m going to just put my revised explanations of existing nominations/votes under spoiler tags, and only keep my changes or new votes outside.

2014 Arcade Stick Mod of the Year
@Melissen-Ghost’s Steampunk MadCatz TE Round 2
Honestly, I’m not a steampunk fan; I don’t care so much for the concept (the steam-powered modern technology concept). But this one deserves praise as it’s definitely thinking outside the box and constraints of standard mods that are usually applied to TEs.

Spoiler

2014 Arcade Stick (Non-Custom) of the Year
Hori RAP V.Hayabusa for XBO: http://www.hori.jp/products/xboxone/xboxone_rap_hayabusa/
Props to Hori for coming up with a new case design, as well as sticking to their own Hayabusa and Kuros.
I think the new casing looks great, though if the older HRAP VX/V3 was any indication, I probably won’t like using it.

2014 New Arcade Stick (new release/revision)"
Mad Catz - Guilty Gear Xrd Arcade FightStick TE2 for PS4/PS3
Smoke-colored sides and classy non-character-specific top-art, on top of the already kick-ass TE2 casing.
There isn’t all that much they could do to make this package any better than it already is.

2014 Tech Talk Company of the Year
@Jasen Hicks and Jasen’s Customs: http://www.jasenscustoms.com/
How can this guy be any more awesome? I haven’t even ever bought anything from the online store, and yet Jasen’s proactively reached out to me when he saw that I mentioned that I needed parts/components that wouldn’t have been feasible for me to buy elsewhere!

2014 Custom Arcade Stick of the Year
@b15sdm’s Predator Stick: Check Out My New Arcade Stick! (No Image Quoting)
A huge predator fan here, so this one’s amazing by my books. Plus the fact that there’s the whole random lights and whatnot. The only thing that could be added is a self-destruct mechanism for rage-quitting.
Admittedly, I could never see myself using a stick like that, though. I’d personally rather use @bazdc2’s Rose stick for the cleaner, sleeker look.

2014 Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year
@b15sdm
There’s really nothing that needs to be said here.

2014 Arcade Stick Modder of the Year
@FrankCastleAZ
Again, just for his Ultra Super 13-sticks-modded Ultimate Maration edition ver.2014

2014 Tech Talk Member of the Year
Still @Darksakul‌ on this one.
He may be the grumpy uncle of Tech Talk, but he’s a wealth of knowledge and takes the time to consistently help out the n00bs as well as the veterans. Plus, it helps that I feel that we share very similar viewpoints on much of this hobby.

2014 Tech Talk Accessory of the Year (PCBs, Parts, Bags, etc.)
@phreakazoid’s Crossbone and TE2 Crossbone.
There’s been plenty of mention of @undamned‌’s UD-USBs. While both are incredible achievements from two of Tech Talk’s great minds, and even though the UD-USB is actually more used/useful to me, I’m still going to have to go with Phreak’s Crossbones. Not that the UD-USB isn’t deserving or anything, don’t get me wrong; it’s just that the UD-USBs are still targeted to a niche market of this hobby, and in that aspect, it is incredibly useful. But the Crossbones (both of them) are more useful in the wider audience of fighting games.

2014 Tech Talk Rookie of the Year
I do think both @deserada (my initial nomination) and @PresidentCamacho‌ deserve this.
I didn’t realize that PresidentCamacho was a 2014-joiner; it really feels like he’s been around for much longer than that. Hence why he didn’t pop up on my radar when I was nominating.
Both of these guys are informative, contributing, patient and gentlemen when it comes to posting around here. Not like the “usual” rookies that come in.

Sadly, I can’t vote for both, so I’ll keep it to just deserada.

Can’t double vote, since that basically invalidates your vote. Also problematic since you had the nominating vote for des.

Ok cool.
I’ll edit that post then. I’ll keep it to just Des then. Sorry PresCamacho! :slight_smile:

I’ll stick with my nominations as votes.
