Once again, it’s that time of the year where we vote for the best TT related stuff that’s come out during the year.

The categories are:

Anything released from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014 is eligible. Stuff released earlier (e.g. Phreak’s the Link) is ineligible. Nomination period ends on January 1, 2015 after which we’ll have up until January 7, 2015 for additional voting. Only one nomination per category is allowed and each nomination also counts as a vote.

Winners gain the right to use the SRK Tech Talk Gold Badge (aka bragging rights). If anyone wants to donate stuff for prizes, we’re open to that as well.

EDIT: When making changes, please make a new post about it that lists the changes. This makes it easier for me to track them.

@bazdc2 's Rose acrylic stick in close second. I too would have picked @FreedomGundam 's modular stick over both, had it been completed this year.

I thought the UD-USB was from 2013? He created the thread in December 2013, and had some working protos by then already.
Not that I don’t think it’s not deserving or anything, I LOVE my UD-USBs (and I’m still waiting to get more at this point), but I honestly thought it counted as a 2013 accessory…

Thanks guys, I’ve learned a ton from people like you and the many great guides here, I try to pass it on and help other new members.
Here are my votes:

2014 non custom stick of the year:
Panzer FS, assuming it counts with the stock options.

2014 TT Company of the year:
Jasen’s Customs- quite a lot of progress in a year’s time, bends over backwards to accommodate customers (including totally custom work), and quickly expanding his services. 2nd choice would be FA, who has given me nothing but excellent service and lots of great sales.

2014 custom stick of the year:
The B15 Predator stick. I have to second @Darksakul‌’s notion that there’s almost no contest with B15 sticks competing, though @FreedomGundam‌’s modular stick would still be my top pick had he finished it this year rather than last.

2014 Modder of the year:
@Phreakazoid‌- without having used any other modder’s services or participated in the hangouts, I’m basing this off of the stream of helpful products he puts out and the highly technical help he gives people here.

2014 Member of the year:
@Darksakul‌ for the helpful guides and popping in to answer most questions. Also entertaining when he gets riled up at stubborn/annoying posters.

2014 accessory of the year:
The crossbone, makes a complex padhack relatively simple. I was hoping to have had @Moonchilde‌’s universal gate in the running by this point- maybe next year.

2014 rookie of the year:
I don’t feel like I’ve been here long enough to judge that, so I’ll pass.

2014 Custom Arcade Stick of the Year - Predator by @b15sdm. I love my Panzers… but they are functional beasts, not actual beasts in insanity mixed with craftsmanship.

2014 Tech Talk Company of the Year - Paradise Arcade Shop . It’s no secret Bryan and Susan treat me well and Bryan and I bounce ideas off of each other to improve on things. Despite some of the site problems they have experienced, they chug along brining new things to market and welcome constructive (and sometimes non constructive Jasen bitching) feedback. No gimmicks, no frills. Knowledgable. @armi0024‌ and @SusanInParadise‌ thanks!

2014 Arcade Stick Modder of the Year - @FrankCastleAZ - he always has a soldering iron in his hand on Hangouts. @Gummo - you’re a close second with @deserada‌ not so far off third.

2014 Tech Talk Member of the Year - I’m going with @DarkSakul with @Moonchilde‌ a second by a hair. Big Balls - Calls BS when he sees it, intolerant of those who won’t use the search button.

2014 Tech Talk Accessory of the Year (PCBs, Parts, Bags, etc.) - I have to go with the @undamned‌’s USB encoder

2014 Tech Talk Rookie of the Year - @deserada‌ - Way to go with the Hangouts and making me feel old :smiley: Always brings something positive to the group and isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and fix stuff.

Before I go into details, I feel I need to make a nomination for something bigger than just the usual awards.

Instead of “Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year Award”, I think it should just be called the “B15 Custom Arcade Stick Maker of the Year” award. We all know he’s amazing, and he’ll win every year he continues to make sticks. No one gets close to the amount of detail and originality he puts into his work. By naming the award after him, it allows others to shine, while still giving credit to the guy who’s already won 3 in a row.

The Super Bowl trophy was originally called “World Professional Football Championship Trophy” and was later renamed the “Vince Lombardi Trophy”, named after the Green Bay Packers coach who won so many Championships and then the first two Super Bowls. This is kinda that same thing.

I’m blown away that 13 of you have voted for me. I know I’ve tried my best to help people out in the forums, start SRK TT hangouts, and document some of my work including my [time consuming topic on revitalizing 11 TE and 2 SE sticks](TUTORIAL/PROGRESS - Revitalization of 11 TE and 2 SE Madcatz sticks -IMAGE HEAVY- COMPLETE but I never imagined so many of you would vote for me in this category and it caught me by tremendous surprise. Thank you guys so much. I’ll continue to do everything I can to help promote SRK TT, encourage people to get into arcade stick modding for the fun and experience of it, and help out existing members.

@Undamned USB Decoder. I didn’t know the UDUSBD would be able to qualify this year but now that it’s verified there’s no doubt. I’m super excited about putting 6 of them on my 3 Sega Blast City cabs for those that choose to use their own arcade stick. Obviously, I’ll have to get and use a hell of a lot more after I get more Blasts.

My second place goes to the Crossbone. Although I will likely never use one because I love padhacking so much, I express my appreciation for a PCB like this and for @Phreakazoid for doing it. I’ve expressed my admiration to him for making original content that helps the existing modding scene grow and will hope to continue to see him do so.

@undamned‌ due to the number of people who seem to want to nominate it, you need to clarify if the USB decoder qualifies for 2014.

A few protos went out in 2013. Beta testers got theirs earlier this year after this post: Undamned's USB Decoders (USB to JAMMA, etc.)!

I’ve been selling what I believe to be the final rev. of the Screw Terminal version for a few months now, just via word of mouth demand. Paradise Arcade should be carrying them before year’s end. I’ve sold a few of the DB15 version, but need to do one more tweak before I sell any more.
