Was that Trent who won KOF?

Here’s that wonderful team tournament match, I hope i can learn how to play like this consistently

Supposedly P.Wright’s assists are no longer invincible in turnabout. Can anyone confirm or deny? Can someone test throw techs too?

Ron: yeah, I’ve watched that video quite a few times (going to go back and watch it again, actually). I was trying to punish more air fireballs and neutral jumps. I was more successful at doing it than last time (Round 1, Game 1), although a few times, I mistimed my punish and got killed for it (Game 2, Round 1). That’s something that I’m putting in the lab immediately. When I went back and watched me play, the first thing that hit me was that I didn’t sit there when I clearly had the lead and no reason to move, even though I’ve been told to do so. Not that I’m particularly impatient by any means, but I was trying to get him to corner and wait it out since that is one of my stronger points. I’m not nearly as competent with my neutral zone down-back skills like I used to be. I don’t play enough matchups on the regular to where its vitally important, since most of my bad match ups require me to push my opponent to the corner and then either hold my ground or get in. This is where playing online would come in handy

well the two matches dont compare honestly in that first round you lost cause you just wasnt anti airing. Where pr rog was forcing tokido to the corner petey was comfortable just going there cause he knew you were just going to let him out. And you did so every time throughout the course of the match. In fact i could count three times where you just got hit clean with blatant jump ins while crouching. Also in the pr match footsie were very important since tokido was constantly fishing for that knockdown and trying to bait him on the option select sweep. However peter wasnt , even the few time where he did knockdown you down the oki was not a big problem since you got back to your feet ok nearly every time. Most of the match petey spent it in the air since you almost never challenged him while he was in the air and didnt really punish him properly for anything he did there. From the space he was chucking air fireballs at you could have focus through to gain ground, dash punch him for trades, or simply jumped over it.
Now as far as the corner pressure goes you really just let him out of the corner. In one match you literally retreated to the other side of the stage when you had him in a position where he had to either take damage or give up meter to get out of the corner. Instead you just jumped back allowed him to restart his offense with no penalty what so ever. Its was really weird since you had enough of a life lead that any trade would have still been in your favor. That very last round was just terrible it looked like you said fuck the match up and was just going in. Even though he wasnt punishing you properly your frantic play allowed him to comfortably dismantle you.
More than anything it looked like you were stuck in your own head for most of the match. You werent reacting and Never really tried to initiate anything. for instant in that one round where he chipped you at the last second from full screen to take the match that shouldve never happened in that situation. Maybe you were anticipating him doing something or playing a certain way he did in casuals but you looked off the entire match.

Wow good stuff drew just watched that team tournament stuff you linked. Must say, at least a little bit impressed!

Hahahahahaha Wesker with an air dash. God I wish this mode was locally playable.

Practice mode?

Annoying, but possible!

anyone down for a session? is Adonis still here?

wow i just started learning cody now i have to start all over from stratch. The new changes are bigger than i originally thought…

I think I finally settled on a team for Marvel: Trish, Mag, Akuma. Gonna start playing it more seriously now.

GGs to Jay and appreciate the input. Next time, if you don’t mind, let me tackle Vega and Bison to get a handle on those match ups again. Also, thanks to Ron for the Sagat practice. Getting a better idea of how I want to handle a few things in that, too, and it helps revitalize my neutral game playing.

GGs to Ron’s Couch. I feel like a jackass for passing out on your couch Ron, but thanks for letting me chill, I was extremely tired. Good to see Adonis again!

This reads as “I saw Adonis in my dreams.”

^ Man who doesn’t?!?!?!

You guys better be hype about these games tonight! It’s time to train for CEO!

Ron was telling me that peeps usually plan for this like two days before the event but anyone know they’re gonna go? Looking to make a plan asap.

GGs capcom

This year I’m going to FR, CEO, and EVO… fuck yeah. For CEO, I’m going to Orlando via Tampa to pick up a friend, but I’ll have room in the car. I may also drive to FR so I’ll need some cool dudes to jam in the car with on the way. FYI to those interested, I go Thursday nights after work and take Fridays off for trips like these.

Mike J, are you still organizing the EVO trip?

EDIT: to clarify, “cool dudes” applies to anybody here.

It was fun playing with you guys again.

I missed you Andy :frowning:

Sent rawks!!!

I got to play FUC, and was once again reminded of what it’s like to play a GOOD GAME.

I miss frame traps :frowning:
