Teams: 1st in MVC3, 2nd in AE (not really, but we had to cut it short because of time)
Rose is getting more solid - got a lot of compliments. I lost to Blanka and Akuma (not a huge surprise). Still not playing that match up right, as I always end up with the life lead and still lose

Almost beat CJ truth, Legit need to work on that matchup some more. Didn’t know that 1st rekka is punishable now. Still hype about the team tournament though, we definitely repped that one

first rekka has always been punishable it can just be spaced to be safe. Real talk shout out to soul calibur 5 where the only thing new on a new character is the name.
also nice to hear everyone did pretty well at the tourney nice to see everyone progressing so well.
Yeah I did a Ft5 with CJ and damn, his Fei is damned legit. 5-1, but each game was pretty down to the wire. A few Fei specific things to work on and he said we’d be pretty much even.

Compare yourself to this guy. There were a few key things he did that you did not. He punished fireballs and neutral jumps with dash punches as often as he could. Even on a trade it’s a knockdown so you get a little bit of pressure. He clearly wasn’t even looking to succeed with the mixups, it was just to keep him honest. Also, when he got the life lead (ANY lead) he just sat there. It was probably the most important thing he did. He hardly moved back at all…just stayed in place and waited to punish some more fireballs and jumps. Basically the entire set was won from the neutral game with only a few exceptions where he got in a successful mixup (which didn’t include any risky stuff like EX dash punches and overheads). He controlled the air above him, he didn’t try to force his way in, and just had some sick punishes along with the occasional half screen sweeps.
I’m officially building my computer for streaming, which I plan to have ready for the next Tallahassee tourney. Quick question - does anybody know whether the signal splitter should be HDMI or Component? Ive read that Component is better about audio/video lag to the stream, but the EVO monitors don’t have Component inputs, do they?
