Checked out the hotel, for three nights (thurs/fri/sat) it would be ~$385. Don’t know how many you want to try and fit in a room but with four people that comes out to roughly 95 bucks a pop. It’s $35 for a badge and 10 bucks a game. I’m looking to compete in two games so that’s $150, plus the cost of gas. Think we can find a cheaper hotel? Or is it worth it to stay AT the event hotel?
Staying at venue hotels is awesome for getting stupid drunk at afterparties. You can still do this if your hotel is within walking distance, though!

absolutely worth it to stay at the hotel of the event, imo. You stay up all night playing games/are tired in between tournies, go take a nap, come back and forth etc. as you please. Definitely worth it.
Well fuck it. I’d rather shell out a little more and get the REAL experience, especially since I told myself I want to go to this to get a REAL major tournament experience. Why pussy out and stay down the road? I better start saving up a personal AMP fund too lol.
I think the only games I really want to compete in are KOF13 and Soul Calibur 5. I know who the KOF dudes are in town (James, Ron, Nic, Mikes, Crespo, Drew, Matt?, if I’m missing you lmk) but is anyone planning on playing SC5?

I might, going to do the same thing I did with MK and KoF, wait for someone else to get it, then try it. So far this method has been 100% successful.

I love SoulCalibur. I waited in line all morning for SC2, got the strat guide with the soundtrack, etc. I’m getting 5 for sure, although SC is always likely to be ruined for tournament play.

If you DHC from Nova Force early it’s a hard knockdown, right? Well, Frank’s cinematic super recovers in time for you to call Nova, take a two camera shots. Since Nova Force hits a quadrillion times, those two shots get you level 5 every time.
That might be something that Drew could use (exchange Zero for Nova) but Im wanting to say that Zero is a superior character to Nova.

I’m just sayin it works for nova since his hyper hi a lot and is a hard knockdown. It’s the cheapest way to get level 5 that I’ve seen without TACs.
Zero doesn’t have a setup for a hard knockdown like that except tools of survival dhc sugenmu tag in.

Oh man. I picked up a really sweet USB audio mixer for this stream setup - this is gonna be gdlk. I should have the computer ready by next weekend, so I’m thinking maybe once the new year hits I can bring the entire stream setup to Rogan’s for a trial run?
I didn’t say he had a setup for it, I said that Zero, IMO, is a better character than Nova, although he admittedly looks easy as hell to play since the only thing I’ve seen is box dash C, ground OHs and air throws,
Just bought KoF so we’ll see how this goes. Might go the Logan route and pick the cheapest, most braindead characters to play.
