Ultimate Salt - Nerfs you are looking FORWARD to in UMvC3

It will be a little less annoying as fuck and That makes me smile harder.

The whole 3 hour hitstun off pistol was a stupid idea to begin with. And I mean stupid as in TAC levels of stupid.

Incorrect. For the Samurai Edge to approach TAC level of stupid the game would have to do the combo for you while buying you a pony, giving you a lollipop and a voucher to the Bunny Ranch.

If I was hit by this, I would send lovemail.

I thought Hammer only lost 7 frames, holy shit =( . Was that changed in a later iteration? Beehive being damageless and terrible at meter building can be overcame easily enough for someone with +40 moves. Something will be figured out. I knew Hammer would be lost sooner or later, but having it confirmed just sucks. Especially since Tron and Haggar can’t GTFO people anymore. Maybe Hulk’s Armored Gamma Charge could help though. It’s the closest thing there is to a GTFO assist left anyways. It’s funny because the way change logs were going it looked like Dante was going to get off pretty light, the whole Fei Long thing.

Considering Hammer has 15 frames of invincibility, 7 frames knocked off would be rather large of a change. Ryu’s HP DP I believe still has like 9 frames invince so I can work with that either way.

Wait, I thought it’d be 20-7, not 15-7. Whatever. Important part is, it still has some, and it won’t be useless as long as it has at least around 10. Especially since all the invincible assists have been more or less shitcanned.

Yeah hammer will easily still be one of the best get off me moves in the game. It’s an anti left right mix up move after all.

Random Sidenote: I wonder if V joe lost any invincibility frames on Mach Speed. In Vanilla it beats Dante’s (and I think possibly one or two others) Level 3 ffs.

X-23 has a level 1 with twice as many frames of invincibility as mach speed so I doubt it. One of Hulk’s level ones has 10 more frames than that one.

Not a big deal when Weapon X Prime beats everything except For the Princess (I might be forgetting 1 or 2 other supers with more invincibility).

Oh yeeeaaaaaaah, Gamme Crush is invincible the entire trip skyward right? Can’t even be challenged (except by Arthur) until he reachs the ground holding a fucking meteor.

I hope so, one of the reasons why Phoenix, and friends were stupid good were because the meter building system allowed Phoenix gain meter like it’s Christmas. It’s supported rush down too much, it basically design to award the offensive character.

Wasnt there talk about a dmg nerf across the board? If so, that would explain the little meter gaing since meter=unscaled dmg.

And I would love to know why the fuck Arthur got a health buff? I understand he has a hard time getting in (Haggar says hi) but when a person can be as good of a zoners as he is and have such a small hurtbox did he really have to become a character that takes atleast a good combo plus 2-3 hypers or XF1 to kill?

  1. He didn’t need to get in, what he needed was to be able to get away. He still can’t.
  2. Considering superjumps got you in on him for free and he didn’t (and still doesn’t) have any way to get you back out, he’s not that good of a zoner.
  3. Yes.

They need to give Bionic Arm, Gamma Crush invincibility frames and make it hit full screen and +10 on block. It’s only fair.

“Troll mode off”

For the record, that health buff is not going to help Arthur that much. Can’t understand why anyone would complain about Arthur being improved in any regard. He really does need it.

That was actually my first thought when I first heard about it. Yeah, it’s better health, and it might keep him from dying in a single combo, but it’s not actually more *tools. *Namely, one of the holy trinity for Arthur. Mobility, GTFO, and anti-superjump/airdash/teleport approach. OH GOD, THE TELEPORTS.

I’m not saying he needed to get in just that every time I see someone talking about it they feel it was a good buff bc he doesnt have a dash/a good way of getting in. And him not being able to cover SJs doesn’t make him that bad, IMO it’s just one of the things your team has to deal with. Haggar has a big problem against almost anyone with a projectile. Solution? Make sure Haggar doesn’t get left alone and/or give him some assists that help him get in while on point. I’m sure Doom’s missiles, Jam Session, Hulk Assist, Purification and a few other assists would help solve Arthur’s inability to deal with SJs. With Tasky having 1mil+ health though, I can’t say I’m shocked. I just don’t think a zoner (even if they have problems getting people off them) should take an advanced combo as well as 2-3 meters just to kill them.

EDIT: IMHO Arthur isn’t that bad of a character it’s just that he’s only good on point with a team built around him or on anchor with XF3. But I never gave the guy a chance since he seems to be purely zoning (whether good or bad) and that isn’t my cup of tea exactly so I’m probably wrong but that’s just my two cents.

(Rise from your grave…on the first page.)

I am again returned. Rejoicify and that know that good could subdue you know who.

Wait.

What.

I…I saw this like a month ago and I’m still shocked at what you’re implying.

Are/Were you honestly complaining that you won’t be able to kill someone in one combo anymore who needed a significant health boost (and only got 50k) and lacks (or at least lacked, we’ll see how much of a different those changes actually make) any type of mobility or GTFO move despite being primarily a zoner? When I know you play at least one character with a teleport and literally half a dozen times the mobility? When Arthur’s only real options for getting people off him (besides pushing block) are a laggy Shield–:dp:+:l:–or an even laggier Sword–:dp:+:m:–that are easily punished on reaction if he misses? Even though you’ll still only have to mix him up once or twice at most if your combos are up to snuff? Combos that will leave you right in his face to start again after they’re done?

ANYWAY, I finally saw those Wesker nerfs and they are glorious…even if he, Wolverine and (regular) Phoenix are the only top tier people who really lost significant stuff without getting significant buffs in return (or ALL buffs in Doom and Trish’s cases–ugh); I mean, Wesker himself got a couple of buffs (or, rather, didn’t lose as much), but I find the sunglasses mechanic cool and sensible, so I’m fine with that.

Having read over all the changes seen so far (thanks again, DevilJin and co.) now, I’m actually surprised as few characters got screwed over as I expected. It looks like “only” Shuma, Chunners and maybe Arthur, Hsien-ko & Haggar and possibly Tron might be getting screwed over; sure, Jill didn’t get anything at all, but she didn’t really need much else and she implicitly got huge buffs from Wolverine getting kneecapped. 6 is certainly…less than I was expecting, especially given the cast’s size increased by 32%.

Anyone else feel this way? (Or is really mad at some of the buffs that got handed out? Or, in case of some of the above, didn’t?)

Yeah, it is pretty strange that some of these weaker characters are being largely neglected entirely.

I’m pretty happy with the Wesker/Wolverine/Phoenix/Dante changes so far though, initially I was worried that Capcom would embrace the QQ too much and end up kneecapping them.
