No, it’s not that easy. I just went for a first to ten against a high lord friend who has a five bar connection(yeah, my internet is actually competent enough to get past Capcom’s crappy netcode). He uses Haggar paired with Tasky it’s practically impossible because he has an answer to nearly everything I could do. His shield skills beats out everything I throw at him from the air and I can’t punish haggar safely because he can easily stab me with his sword or shield skils at any time he wants. I can’t even use my glaive lightning attacks on the ground for pressure strings without risking a grab into hyper damage for 350k+ damage(nearly half of Ammy’s life). The dude plays a mean chip game with those 180k arrows and it’s all I can do to overwhelm him with gold pendulum and mixups with Ammy.

Recovery frames would work if the person using Haggar is using some trash character, but he is not. Assists like Tron and Haggar are almost always paired with some strong motherfuckers who mean business. Pretending otherwise is just covering your ears and screaming really loudly in the hopes you can’t hear it. That shit was not nerfed because people whined, it was nerfed because it should never lead to full combos, hard knockdown and complete protection for so many frames. It’s a broken version of the burst mechanic that never should have existed in such a powerful form.

Top tier needed to be hit with mighty Thor’s Nerf Mjolnir, not characters like Tron and Haggar who still suck on point. Hell, I’ve looked at the Captain America subforums and I’m happy as fuck for those guys. The same thing goes for Arthur players(who need more than what they got so far), Morrigan players, Ryu players and etc. Stop looking at the pretty pictures and actually respond to my posts instead of resorting to stereotypes and insults.

Yep, I’d totally be okay with them if they had less priority/invincibility frames and only functioned in a combo disturbance way. They lead to easy kills right now and it’s no work. It’s just pressing the assist button over and over until you finally get that opening for an easy ToD combo. It’s boring, it’s stale and Mahvel is better than that.

Edit: I’m also happy for those Dormmamu players. I know one who is pretty happy with Dormmington’s buffs and I’m especially glad for the guy.

I responded to your post and at this point there’s nothing left to be said. Your point of view is so far gone from mine that arguing would be a complete waste of time. Also I use Thor and would rather figure out how to beat the top tier instead of sitting on my hands waiting for the next version.

So from what I can tell from videos, Baroque in TvC stopped opponents combos as well as stopping your animation, took two bars and took a little of your health. Why the hell wasnt this put in Marvel?

Does anyone have a number for how many frames of Haggar’s lariat recovery actually happen on screen? the 67 iframes cover all startup and active frames of the move, and the vast majority of the 121 recovery frames are off screen, since that’s the recovery until you can call the assist again. I’d actually like a hard number of how long he’s actually vulnerable for right now.

I don’t understand why people keep bringing this up. I don’t think I recall anyone playing any low-tier character asking for something like this. All we can do until Ultimate – and through Ultimate – is just work with what we have. It’s the same for everybody.

Anyway. About that Haggar assist. How many frames is it before you can call assists again from cooldown?

I admit, I let people blow my assist up - purely accidental of course - only because I don’t feel like dealing with Chicken Blocking Ryu/Akuma/Trish/Deadpool XF3 throwing out whatever game-winning hyper they try to do. Seriously, why do people rely upon their anchor to solely win the game for them? Can this shit go back to MvC2 style so I can stop using Taskmaster as a ‘scrub killer’ and accept my loss when that third character comes jumping in?

The 121 frames is the recovery before you can call Haggar again. The recovery for other assists on lariat is 91 iirc. Lariat is one of the slowest recovering assists in the game. I would really like to know how large his vulnerable window is though.

Chicken blocking people are the sole reason I picked up Dormammu. He may not be the fastest zoner but if you can use his Liberations wisely as well as his Stalker Flare, you get to sit back and laugh at them. I’ve faced countless Ryus/Akumas who thought there best bet would be to stay in the corner and waste meter on continuous beam hypers even though I blocked each one. Then you have Deadpool’s who do nothing but his grenade toss and/or slide under aerials (which doesnt always work against players with air dashes, flight, etc but they dont see that). Oh well

It’s startup is 32 frames and it’s got 45 active frames. Frames 1-67 are completely invincible.

Dormammu is another XF3 whore people use and he pisses me off almost as much as Trish Dive Kicks.

His grunts get me hot though.

It’s so great bc most people dont know what each one does. The most fun is when I switch to Dante and randomly use Dorm’s Liberation assist

Yeah he can be but I usually use him on point (for easy dmg plus to build up his Liberation assist) or I use him second so after Dante kills someone I can set up a Stalker Flare on the incoming person as well as store up three powers.

On Point? The moment I get an opening and land a fullscreen block, I keep his ass in block. All it takes is one beam thingy from him and I’ll never be able to do anything. Low tier SUCKS.

It’s funny when Zero and Trish think they can approach because my Cold Star doesn’t stop them.

Well I play a rushdown Dormammu and only zone for the lulz (especially against Haggar). He can easily push someone into the corner with assist bnbs, his j.S/j.H is great for cross-ups, he can always get chip off his Chaotic Flame or get a air throw reset in the corner, his lvl3 can be combo’d off of very easily, and he can lock down some opponents by himself. I feel as though just zoning with him is boring.

But that’s how I play, I just like to play differently (not that I’m only rushdown Dorm there is) just like if I have Dante out and I see you backing up, if you don’t have Ryu/Akuma out, prepare to be zoned cause I’m not gonna come to you (most of the time).

I’m with you, zoning is blech and so is keep away. It’s just better to go all out, balls to the walls bait mode and force people into mistakes. I throw grenades at the stupidest moments and it really puts a smile on my face when that knife connects.

Ok, I lied. I zone sometimes, but it’s only to slap top tier in the face when they win a match by pinning me down in the corner. Here’s some shotgun for your face mister Wolverine.
