So basically Ammy’s dashes now have the same properties of Hsien-Ko’s backdash?

…oh, in case you didn’t already know that, Hsien-Ko has never been able to block while performing her backwards air dash. Such a wonderful feature to be placed on a defensive zoning character.

Knowing that my fav character has dealt with this handicap since day one makes it hard for me to feel pity for Ammy. She’ll still be good, just not as braindead. Taste my pain, bitch!

Taskmaster has a hard life in comparison. Really the only reason he’s so popular at tournies is because top players like to challenge themselves by picking the very hardest characters to win with, that’s why you don’t see juggernauts like arthur who STILL can’t get in as easy as ammy can!

But seriously, ammy with buffed zoning/keepaway options is basically a ghostrider clone, and i’m still at a loss as to why you’d fix a dog that wasn’t anywhere near broken.

Is this sarcasm or what. The arthur part made it sound sarcastic. Taskmaster is not a challenge, and he’s not hard to pick up at all. People pick him because he is a very solid character, and they enjoy playing him.

What the hell is Ammy gonna do to Magneto now? Imagine if she couldn’t block in Vanilla while airdashing and Magneto still has L version Disruptor speed. That would be the absolute worst.

I like how you said that all like Ammy dropped 1 tier. But if Ammy no longer has a viable way to get in anymore (which is basically what no blocking while air dashing translate to) Ammy goes down all the tier levels to the Mid or Low-Mids at best (like everyone else with nearly 0-10 matchups).

Basically a character that was just good enough to be a A Tier that doesn’t need any tweaks suddenly got fucked for no reason. And you missed what’s wrong with that because youmad that people worry about higher tier characters than Chris (at least that’s how he makes it sound, won’t put words in your mouth THAT carelessly).

So umm…if i try it out with trish and it turns out that my keepaway character can’t block during a backdash, that means that a finely balanced offensive character should be crippled? Especially since your character that CLEARLY needs buffs has a hard time? Ammy doesn’t even have a backwards air dash. What’s with you people and thinking zoning characters should have the same abilities as offensive characters? See how magneto could trash keepaway characters from fullscreen, but was 100X better upclose? Yea, that’s an example of a proper nerf.

Why don’t you just focus on buffs instead of trying to justify nerfs to characters who work properly that you don’t understand?

For the record, Berserker Slash is losing invincibility.

Most characters don’t even have back air dashes for it to be an issue. That said, as far as I remember, it’s only ground back dashes that are horribly unsafe(although I think Morrigan’s is the worst at 25 frames before you can block or act). Anyway, as I recall, it’s not that Ammy can’t block during her air dash, it’s that she can’t block during the first few frames of it. Which means most of the time, there will be no functional difference when you call a lockdown/beam assist, and go for the air dash.

Pretty much just logged in to say this line was funny as hell to me… honestly screw the dog, her annoying hitbox, grab range and HHHHHHHH, I don’t really have much sympathy for her if she gets neutered a bit.

Oh, I should’ve compared her to Hsien Ko instead. Too bad Amy still comes out on top.

Amy has a full run dash to get past purification, Hsien Ko has a dash with startup frames that pins herself back into projectile spam. Yay jump advancement still not getting me anywhere.

Amy has three incredibly useful stances: one with a godmode pressure single button spam, one with quick normals long enough to counter Taskmaster’s, and one with the same instant reach only Ghostrider has (And he’s not even out yet); Hsien Ko has a projectile with a million years start up, a pendulum swing that screams punish me/block the other side, and a gong that takes so $#%^ing long to come out that it’s better to just say screw it, I’ll walk over there.

Amy can use the sword stance to play mix up games, but no one does it. I wonder why? Is it because, I dunno… Her other shit is just so damned easy there’s no reason to explore her full potential and instead complain when a vital part of that easy mode gets cut from her? Do you know what Hsien Ko gets for mix up? A jump :h: that destroys her scaling and the occasional chance you won’t be able to combo off of it anyways thanks to the ass hit stun it as.

I’d rather face Dante and Magento non-stop than ever have to play against that damn dog again. Nothing should be as brain dead easy as the shit she does. Nothing.

Stop comparing Ammy to Hsien-Ko. We all get it. You’re mad salty that Hsien-Ko is ass so you want to take it out on other characters. If we used Hsien-Ko as our standard, we could make just about anyone in the cast seem OP.

You really don’t think that the vine is vital to Glaive mode? Glaive mixup can only go so far without her airdash. Without it, she’s going to get AA’d and smacked down for free all day.

Anyways, you’ve made it clear that your argument is “WAAAAH BUT MY CHARACTER HAS SUCH A HARDER TIME” and you don’t understand the full effects of losing her ability to block during her airdash, which is pretty much her main way in. This isn’t the sort of nerf that drops you a tier. This is the sort of a nerf that makes sure that no one but character loyalists pick you.

Dunno if anyone’s mentioned it but as a Hulk player, I am definitely looking forward to the Flame Carpet nerf for Dormammu. Hulk vs Flame carpet is a 9.5-0.5 matchup in Flame Carpet’s favor. Don’t like Hulk? Pick Dormammu.

Just like the players at Blizzard get told, they nerfed that shit because they, as a company with years of balancing under their belt, thought it would fix something wrong. These Amy players are blowing this completely out of context. All of a sudden they don’t have air galore anymore and the sky is falling, literally.

Now… I’ll admit, a health buff might be in order with the new found challenges she’ll be coming up against. Too bad it’s having to block Magneto mix ups like everyone else now.

No character can block after backwards airdash, but only 8-way dash characters have one.

You Obviously must not play jean so I guess you lack the information needed to comprehend her actual play style. Either that or you think everyone lames it out and sits back playing lets toss the homing projectile. I like to play a rush down Jean pretty heavy on the in your face and believe it or not she is/was fully capable of being a serious antagonist up close. They did not take away her only tool, they took away Options. I had the option of teleporting above you on one side then instantly popping up behind you on the other side while Dormammu held you in place with a dark hole. You know jump foward air teleport H, Air Teleport L with the assist out is a pretty decent cross up if nothing else it locks them in blockstun for her overhead or any other tactic you would like to use. That is no longer an Option. You seem to think the only thing that made Jean a Dangerous character was Dark Phoenix. How Can I take you Seriously?

As to your UMVC3 footage. The feathers were what they should have taken away seeing as they are absurdly cheap, And again you are talking about dark phoenix while I am not. I don’t give a fuck if they nerfed dark phoenix into the ground that’s fine seeing as she is broken but leave Jean the fuck alone. Yeah, might be nice if instead of making it so she can’t block they just shortened the length it traveled and sped it up a bit.

To be fair her airdash into j.C was already kinda stupid for characters with no real anti-air answer since it had so much priority and crossed up so easy.

I think its just revenge to characters who had too many options to begin with.

Spencers command airdash with the two hitboxes is a little dumb too. But I’ll get over it.

I wouldn’t get too happy just yet seeing as I am not sure it can be classified as a nerf. It still hits low 5 times and stays out just as long now it just Pushes you back on hit which is honestly even worse for hulk and better for Dormammu. Basically its a free get the F out card. I do understand how bad the match is for Hulk I use him on my dorm team.
